High Rated Scuba Fins for The Advanced Diver

October 3rd, 2009
by Ed J Price

Never overlook the value of quality scuba fins! There are a number of factors that go into making a scuba diving experience a positive one. Among the most important factors is the acquisition of proper equipment. When you have the right equipment such as gloves, masks, and scuba fins, you can feel assured that the time you spend under the surface of the water will be quite the positive one. Of course, there are many different manufacturers of diving fins on the market. Which of these are the best? Based on a number of consumer ratings, Cressi-Sub Gara Professional Fins are among the very best you can acquire. Why is this? Let’s look at the many pros (and a few cons) of these fins.

Superb Comfort

First of all, these scuba fins are very comfortable in the ankle and do not feel tight unlike other lower quality fins that make other divers feel an uncomfortable pressure. When people go on scuba diving adventures, they want to have a lot of fun without the hassles of discomfort and pain. This piece of equipment is indeed a comfortable one to wear and will add joy to your travel. These are definitely certain scuba fins that will help in that respect.

Excellent Movement

Efficiency and the diversity of these scuba fins’ motility is a big plus. Ability to glide through the ocean waters is made much easier when you have a set of diving fins that can handle well. Since it takes the hard work out of swimming, these fins can be really enjoyable. One reason for this is that the shape of the blade contains an improved design and operation of the fin blade which enhances maneuverability. Also, thanks to the enormous speed that these scuba fins deliver, divers that need to dart quickly can now do so. The foot pocket is so also well designed and it will add to the comfort of wearing fins significantly. A comfortable fit in your foot pocket is very important and these particular fins foot pocket is fairly deep and can be worn by a variety of foot shapes and sizes.

Price Range

The price of these scuba fins is the only con that this product has to its name. Yes, at the cost of more than $200, these fins are more costly than that of most diving fins on the market so far. However, most people prefer to spend the average price on average scuba fins, but when you pay for average equipment you end up with average or no performance at all. If you want quality performance then you need quality gear and, likewise for the best of everything, you need to pay extra for it. Thats just how the world works.

Conclusion

These fins are generally beneficial for the advanced diver. That is why such unique design has been utilized to craft these particular scuba fins. Beginners may be a little irked that a starter kit version of these fins has not been produced but that is just the way things are at the moment. The bottom line here is that if you are a top diver, you will definitely want to purchase Cressi-Sub Gara Professional Fins as they are among the best scuba fins on the market…bar none.

Ironman Timex Review: T5G971 Monitor

August 23rd, 2009
by Ed J Price

Among the standout heart rate monitors available, the Timex T5G971 is one of the best in quality and performance. The Timex Ironman series of monitors is appreciated by many for its range. This is a durable monitor that is made to stand up over time. It ranks among the best when compared to others like the Garmin 305 or the Polar F11. It has a good look, great function, and lots of wonderful features. Here is a brief article about the Timex Heart Rate Monitor.

Features and Functions of the Timex Ironman T5G971

As talked about previously, one of the essential things about the Timex heart rate monitor is the many different features it offers. As an example, the monitor gives both men and women greater flexibility. Most heart rate monitors do not work well for both sexes. This is one of the things that really stand out about this monitor. It includes a chest strap for ease of use. Used with the T5G971 you can begin tracking the effectiveness of your workout through different fitness areas.

The Timex T5G971 heart rate monitor also reviews workouts by recalling the activity time and heart rate averages and peaks. This allows the user to analyze their workout and see where improvements can be made. This monitor also doubles as a great everyday watch because it has features such as time (12/12 hour) and date (Day/Month/Year) display. It is also able to function at a maximum depth of 165 feet or 30 meters. The battery life on this Timex Ironman monitor is 2 years.

Cons and Final Assessment

There’s really nothing that you can say against this Timex heart rate monitor. In just a few instances there has been a problem with how accurate the data of heart rate that is transmitted from the chest strap to the heart monitor watch really is, as well as the reception. This problem is relatively rare. However, Timex has discovered ways to correct this problem. The other problem with the Timex monitor T5G971 is the simplicity of the monitor’s appearance. In this case, the saying Looks Can Be Deceiving is true.

With all things considered, the Timex Heart Rate Monitor is a good deal. It can help track a workout for later review with the added benefit of functioning like a regular watch. It can work both in and out of water and the price is good for all it offers. If you have been searching for a monitor to help you make the very most of your workouts, take the time to look at the Timex T5G91 Fitness Heart Rate Monitor. You will be glad you did.

Bipolar Depression And Other Depressions

August 16th, 2009
by Ken P Doyle

Since man started recording history, this depressive disorder has been known to be with us. When we read in the Old Testament, Job and the famous King David, suffered from this terrible mental disease . It was called by Hippocrates the Greek physician a black bile (melancholia). Negative in nature which affects how we feel, think and act, it is a clinical depression with a serious medical disorder. Written in literature arts many years ago, this depressive disorder or a bipolar depression disorder was portrayed as a weakness of temperament which was handed down by family members. It was Freud of the 20th century that linked the progress of depression to guilt and conflict.

The Two Divisions

During the middle of this century depression was divided into two:

Endogenous: may be caused by the body itself but nobody knows its source and is probably linked to a genetic origin. Bipolar depression falls under this type of depression.

Neurotic or reactive: depression is caused from outside, like the death of a loved one, losing somebody special and the loss of the only source of income. In 70s and the 80s, the focus changed from the cause, to the effects of depression on victims.

It is hard to know what causes depression or bipolar depression, but nearly all would agree that:

It is a syndrome that reflects severe sad, irritable mood which can be classed as abnormal sadness or grief. These feelings of sadness of depression are both intense and takes a long time when compared to the normal ups and downs.

The characteristics are the presence of negative thoughts, moods, and behaviors and not to mention the physical symptoms like, crying spells, aches in the body, very low energy in both work and sex. Other problems may include eating, weight and sleeping problems.

Depression increases coronary artery disease, HIV, asthma, and some other diseases. Death rate is alarming with victims of this depressive conditions.

The human costs of depression in the United States alone are huge which includes – treatment and other indirect costs, like absenteeism of workers and lost in productivity.

Bipolar Depression

The unique trait of this illness is, it’s not the outside that is causing the depression, but the brain producing its lows with the feelings of worry, sad, angry, guilt, isolation and hopelessness. This disorder is caused by the brains neurotransmitters which can cause sleeping and eating problems and a shift in moods.

Problems of Not Treating Depression

Like most serious diseases, bipolar depression can create problems with those living together, members of the family, close friends, and your boss at work. With family members of those with bipolar depression it can drain out the energy level of family members.

Bipolar Depression and Bipolar Treatment

Is a member of your family or a friend showing symptoms of bipolar depression like sleeping too much, sad, feelings of helpless, worthless, and hopeless with decreased energy and concentration. Seek medical advice near you so they can be given early bipolar treatment.

Water Purifiers/Filters For A Better Health And Well-Being

August 10th, 2009
by Zachus J Winestone

If you are the type of person that cares about eating properly and having good health then you are aware that water is a necessary part of this regime and having water purifiers/filters in your residence can help you obtain this goal. There are various water purifiers/filters that you can pick from to get the right kind for you and your family members. You can save money, as well as, you and your family will be more healthy. Pure water: now this is something valuable that the entire family can agree with.

Water Is Great For You

Doctors suggest that you drink a minimum of eight cups of water daily, more than this if you are doing physical activities and perspiring. Drinking water assists with removing toxins from your body and you will feel more well. People can live without eating for a few days, but they won’t be alright more than a day without water because it is vital. What else do you need to know to consider having water purifiers/filters for your residence?

Adults and children drink more soda and coffee than they should. They taste good and are easy to find. Water filters and purifiers will give you another option that shares these advantages but costs less. Get your children started with good habits, like drinking a lot of water, and they’re likely to continue.

Why Filtered Water is Best

You could consume water directly from the tap, but considering if you have well water or city water, you might not be aware of what it contains and you surely won’t like the flavor. Wells can have various toxins that come from the dirt around it. There doesn’t have to be a spill on your residence but there could be a spill a mile from where you live but it still gets into the same water that all of us share. Think about how water purifiers/filters can clean these toxins out of the water, giving you fresh, pure, renewed water for drinking.

Tap water levels are closely monitored annually, however it still can contain contaminants. To avoid concerns about toxins it is in your best interest to consider a water filter/purifier so that you can get back to enjoying your drinking water.

Better Than Your Normal Bottled Water

Many people enjoy the convenience and taste of bottled water, but it can get expensive. By reusing a few water bottles or getting some nicer thermos type bottles you can fill them up from your water purifiers/filters at home for pennies. Kids and adults will love the cool variety of water bottles available and everyone in the family can have their own.

And even more importantly, the water from water purifiers/filters is cleaner and better for you than bottled water. Bottled water is only held to the same standards as city water and those are not always so high. In fact, in several studies popular brands of bottled water were found to have more contaminants than New York City tap water. So water from water purifiers/filters in the home is clearly the winner.

The Need For Water Filters/Purifiers Is A Must Nowadays.

July 21st, 2009
by Zachus J Winestone

Water filters/purifiers are undeniably one of the more modern inventions that has been underrated and overlooked over the years. Throughout the years water contamination has plagued not just our local communities but our international counter parts as well. In third-world countries like North Africa and Algeria millions upon millions continue to suffer immensely without proper access to the good clean drinking water. Even though many initiatives have been established to try uplift this problem there is still an overwhelming amount of people dying from water borne diseases.

We often think of water contamination as a foreign problem, but the truth is contaminated water lives in our own backyard. Many people do not believe that water filters/purifiers are a solution to this problem, but many people are not even aware of the potential harm they are exposing themselves to by consuming contaminated water every day. The chlorine found in water has been linked to many serious diseases, including heart problems, birth defects and even cancer.

People think that our drinking water doesn’t contain harmful micro-organisms and is healthy to drink, but it actual fact it has small concentrations of bacteria that can be potentially deadly at a high enough concentration.

Your water may not be safe to drink, whether it is well water or city water. In the case of city water sources majority of them are from municipal water sources. These sources contain potentially dangerous chemicals used to disinfect recycled waste water. It is no wonder that an increasing amount of people, armed with this knowledge, are turning to filters to make their tap water safer to drink.

Some Useful Filters

The choices for water filter/purifiers abound. Each of them uses different mechanisms but they all aim to purify your tap water. Some of the options are countertop, undersink, or faucet filters. Whole house filters are the most commonly used. These systems free the water from bacteria, sediments, and chemicals that might jeopardize your health. Most of these water filters are not terribly expensive, except for the more complicated ones, which can be a bit costly. The best option is the whole house system. They are affordable, of good quality, and do not require much maintenance. You should look at a water filter/purifier system for your family as an investment in your family’s future health; after all you dont have anything to lose but your health to gain.
