A Quick Way to Create Articles in 3 Easy Steps

August 10th, 2009
by Mike Long

Without taking the time to conduct article marketing in the correct manner, even considering that it is thought of as the biggest lead and traffic generating tool online, your marketing efforts will be pretty much hopeless. But fear not! There is still time to turn things around by properly using articles in your marketing. Here’s how:

1. Increase the reach of your articles. Getting the headline right is every bit as important as the article itself. Make it eye-catching, interesting and compelling. Make sure that the summary information provides a quick tease, without giving the meat of the article away.

2. Make sure they get to the bottom of the article. It is your job to ensure that what you write is interesting enough to compel people to read all the way through your article, right down to the resource box. While doing so, make sure you provide in-depth information that makes good on the headline and article summary that you originally created. Your reputation is on the line here….follow through!

3. Improving your conversion ratio. In order to do this, you must make your resource box sound absolutely convincing and very appealing. To raise the confidence level of your prospective customers, put in your name, skills and key accomplishments. It would help if you can offer giveaways like short ebooks to further entice your readers.

Keep in mind that the many benefits you’ll get from article marketing will largely depend on the time and effort you put in. Give readers enough information to spark their curiosity, and use your website as an additional resource. Readers will then develop confidence in you, and they will be more likely to buy from you.

Top Rated Outdoor Patio Furniture For Your BackYard

April 9th, 2009
by Mike Long

The patio has always been one of the few places in the house designed solely for comfort. Whether for entertaining guests or simply for a quiet place of reflection, designing for the patio considers Zen, the outdoors, relaxation, and other happy thoughts. Happy thoughts, then, should definitely not break the bank and here are a few tips on how to find discount outdoor patio furniture without the money stress.

The most important step is to decide on what youre looking for. Patios can consist of many items, such as umbrellas, benches, tables, and chairs. Survey your available space and plan the layout ahead of time — the last thing you want is a crammed patio (or an empty-looking one). Knowing your limits would help you budget not only for space, but also for spending money. Define what you need to avoid overspending.

Part of knowing what kind of patio furniture you want involves deciding on which type of construction you prefer. Aluminum is cheap and durable, but its light weight works against it in the wind, it can sometimes be uncomfortable, and there isn’t a lot of room for creative designs. Wicker is beautiful, comfortable and functional, but it suffers from the problems of light weight too, in addition to being somewhat problematic to clean. Finally, wood is always classy and beautiful, with stunning designs, but it isn’t easy to move around, and it’s the most expensive of the three.

You will find the greatest deals on outdoor furniture in the early fall, when retailers are trying to clear out their inventory for the end of the season. By timing your purchase properly, you can save a ton of money by waiting until the right time of year, then shopping around for the best deals. Often department stores will be the ultimate place to look for end of season deals.

The Internet is also a great place to look for affordable furniture. Because there are so many online retailers to choose from, dealers at pushed to sell at the lowest prices in order to remain competitive. Though shopping online is very convenient to look for bargains, its also a breeding ground for scam artists. One should be careful to only purchase from credible sources.

In addition, your neighbors can be a great source of fantastic backyard furniture if they decide to run a garage sale. Many people have the ability and the desire to change out their furniture every couple of years. This way you can get high quality furniture still in good shape for pennies on the dollar.

Remember the old adage that you usually get what you pay for. If you choose to buy in the spring, and pay full price from a retailer, this may mean you end up with a lower quality set of furniture that may not hold up as long as you expect.

Treadmill Pads: An Invaluable Accessory for Treadmill Owners

April 8th, 2009
by Mike Long

Maintaining ones fitness and health is becoming more and more important to people nowadays. Key to this is regular exercise ” one of the simplest of which is running. For those who dont have a nearby track oval or convenient jogging route, or who want to exercise in the comforts of their own homes, the acquisition of a treadmill is one way to start a running regimen. If youre one of those looking to acquire a treadmill, keep in mind a simple accessory that you should get too: treadmill pads.

Even though you might not notice it at first, the fact remains that these kinds of machines take a pounding from you using them, and they transmit a lot of weight and vibration down to your floor. Without some kind of protection, your floor is in danger of being slowly damaged over time.

It might not seem obvious at first, but a treadmill is a machine, and like any machine it has moving parts. To keep parts moving freely and easily for years to come requires things like oil and grease. Over time, trace amounts of both can wind up on your flooring, causing a nasty cleanup at best, or creating permanent floor damage at worst.

A treadmill mat prevents all of these problems. It will no longer be in direct contact with the floor, eliminating any potential vibration issues. Also, it will be much more difficult for small carpet fibers to enter the machine at any point. This will dramatically extend the life of both the treadmill, and the quality flooring underneath it!

You will find a fairly wide diversity in pads. They come in different shapes, sizes, and thicknesses. Most of the time, the thicker pads will be more expensive. Most pads have a standard size of about 78 inches by 36 inches, and are 1/4″ thick. You can find them larger and thicker as well to suit your needs.

These are usually priced from $35 to $50. Of course, a buyer will have to adjust depending on the size of the treadmill being used, and the frequency of exercise. Larger treadmills may require a pad of about 7 feet, and more frequent exercises will want to invest in a thicker pad (about 3/8 of an inch thickness), which would only cost about $10 to $20 more.

A treadmill pad is an investment which is invaluable to any treadmill owner. The price one will pay to acquire an accessory is a small amount compared to the value youll be getting by being able to extend the life of your machine and protect your floor. This is truly a must-have accessory for any treadmill user.

Antique Drafting Tables Add A Touch Of Class To Your Home

March 28th, 2009
by Mike Long

A drafting table can be used for a number of different purposes. Most often they are used to design blueprints or create precise, highly technical documents. Also called a drafting desk or drawing table, they have been in use in the United States for at least 350 years. Particularly in the 18th century, nearly every man of at least modest means managed to have one in their study. The original draft of the Declaration of Independence was completed on Thomas Jefferson’s personal drafting table!

As architecture and draftsmanship became evolved in the industrial age, the drafting table became more popular as well. These tables needed to be fully adjustable, so that the artist or gentleman could work either sitting or standing. The table top also preferably had to be adjustable from a horizontal to a vertical position, and any comfortable working angle in between.

In more recent times, other materials were used to create these desks, including mixtures of aluminum, steel and plastic. However, the tried and true wood desks, often made from high quality oak, still withstand the test of time and continue to be quite common. Modern CAD technology is finally placing the drafting table in the background for certain tasks, but for others it remains as popular as ever.

With wood still being an incredibly popular material to use, it is no surprise that antique drafting tables are often a treasured piece of furniture in any home. Always beautiful, and as functional today as it was hundreds of years ago, these old desks are often more expensive to purchase then their modern counterparts. They may even become the centerpiece of the room.

Here are a couple of things to remember before you bring your table home. The craftsmanship from previous eras was much higher then it is today. Most of these tables were made by hand from the best materials in the world at that time. Their longevity comes from the fact that they are sturdy, well built, and heavy! Make sure that your floor will support the weight, especially if it will be upstairs. Also, keep in mind that these pieces can be rather large. Be certain that you have enough space in the room you want to put it in.

If you are creating a study or studio for yourself, consider the purchase of an antique drafting table. It is more then just a furniture item, it is a piece of living history, not only with a story to tell, but with more that have yet to be written. Whether you are an artist or an architect, and engineer or a writer, these beautiful, elegant pieces can easily become the focal point of your room, or even your home, with a little thought and planning.

Beauty and Functionality: Antique Drafting Tables

A drafting table can be used for a number of different purposes. Most often they are used to design blueprints or create precise, highly technical documents. Also called a drafting desk or drawing table, they have been in use in the United States for at least 350 years. Particularly in the 18th century, nearly every man of at least modest means managed to have one in their study. The original draft of the Declaration of Independence was completed on Thomas Jefferson’s personal drafting table!

As times changed, so did the needs of those using these tables. Over time, drawing desks developed the ability to be used while either sitting or standing. The tabletop surface would now pivot from completely horizontal to totally vertical. This allowed artists, architects, and engineers alike to be able to make their table work specifically for their particular needs.

Of course, when looking to acquire one of these beauties, one has to be prepared. First of all, one has to have room for these. Owing to their primary function as a table for drawing on large sheets of paper, these tables can take up a lot of space. Most antiques will also probably be made from hardwoods ” a sturdy floor that can support its weight is essential, especially when the table is going to be placed on an upper floor. Also, proper spacing between the table and the other pieces of furniture in the room, say, shelves, desks, or chairs, is important. There is something about a cluttered room that distracts from the otherwise charming appeal of an antique.

If you are looking for a piece of furniture that may complete the look you want for a home library or an artists studio, you might want to consider acquiring antique drafting tables. It is not simply an artifact or art piece for display, but is a complete piece of furniture ” with elegance and beauty befitting an antique, and the functionality that makes it a welcome addition to any artists workroom.
