Thanks to some industries there has been a huge increase in the poisons that are present in our waters. This has resulted in more water borne diseases and made cancer a more serious threat as well. A nice clean tasting glass of water is sadly a thing of the past, for now we have to worry about toxins ranging from aluminum to arsenic. Not only that, but our water can also come with organisms like Giardia Lamblia, leaving us at risk for birth defects and other very serious problems. Clearly now is the time for everyone to start drinking only water that comes out of water filters and purifiers.

Water purifiers/filters make water taste wonderful and remove toxic elements at the same time. There are many filter options out there to suit your situation, budget, and preferences, and here are a few of your choices. Once you begin using a water filter, you will be amazed at how clean and crisp your water actually tastes.

The list provides the different types of water filters:

On-faucet water filters: These easy to install water purifiers come with a dense carbon block which helps in filtering harmful bacteria, odors, chemicals and other toxins present in the water. Since the carbon block filters all these toxins, it needs to be changed from time to time. These days most of these filters have an indicator to tell you when you need to change the filter. Earlier these filters were bulky and occupied too much space, however, these days you get compact filters which effectively filter the water and enhance the taste.

Counter Top Water filters have a ceramic filter and is used in the combination with carbon to filter all impurities and it is ease of installation but it requires lot of space on the counter.

Under sink filters: These filters are installed under the sink and are compact in shape. They have a cartridge filtration system where the cartridge needs to replaced regularly.

Water filters can also be classified on the basis of the filtration system they use:

Water purifying device using activated charcoal.

Charcoal absorbs the harmful odors, toxins and other sediments present in the water in such filters. Popular filters like Brita water filter and pur water filters use the charcoal technology. These pour through filters are very cost effective. The water wastage in such filters is very low and therefore most of the customers prefer them.

Water filters which uses the reverse osmosis technology.

Reverse Osmosis filters are well known for cleaning the water of all toxins, bacteria and other pathogens. The water is first passed through the RO filters and then sent to a storage tank. Before its used, it passes through the carbon filters and hence is as good as distilled water. The disadvantage of using a RO filter is that they waste a lot of water during purification. Hence for a gallon of pure water, two gallons of water are wasted.

In today day and age, water purifiers/filters are the best way to protect yourself and your family from a variety of diseases and problems. Water filters guarantee you clean drinking water which tastes good as well!

Replacement Filter Cartridge- Helps Maintain Your Water Filter

August 5th, 2009
by Zachus J Winestone

People who are into their health will certainly be pleased with the benefits of filtering their water. However, there is much to do besides merely hooking up the filter. One must also be sure to replace the filter cartridge at appropriate intervals as per the manufacturer’s recommendations. The filter removes contaminants from your water, but this process can clog the filter with the dirt that has been removed. A clogged filter does not work as efficiently as it should. This is precisely why one must change the filter replacement cartridge as needed. This will keep your drinking water clean and contaminant free.

Based on your water usage, filters can be a very convenient thing to install throughout your household. For example, the kitchen faucet is what is most commonly used for drinking water. Therefore, your kitchen faucet would be the most important place in your house to install a filtration system. Filtration systems come in two main varieties that each do the job of cleansing your water.

The original filter mounts directly to the tap. This is the least invasive, and most economic, option. The filter unit is kept at easy access; making replacement easy. Tap mounted systems screw directly into the end of the faucet. Simply swivel the unit, or push a button to switch between filtered/non filtered water.

Tap water is suitable for cooking, washing, or hands. For drinking water, or coffee, filtered water will taste much better, and be healthier. Because you have the option of when you use the actual filter, it lasts longer.

A larger, less conspicuous water filtration system is one which is mounted under the kitchen sink. All the water which passes through it is filtered. The system and its filter replacement cartridge last longer making the higher price tag worth paying.

Typically the under sink mounted filtration system will have a different tap that is usually mounted at the back edge of the sink. It could simply be an attractive stainless steel faucet that is only used to fill drinking glasses and won’t be in your way while you are washing dishes in the sink.

Another spot where it is a great idea to install a filtration system is for your refrigerator. It defeats the purpose of having filtered water if you are going to put unfiltered ice cubes in it from the icemaker. An inline filter will solve this problem. Just remember that it will have a filter replacement cartridge that needs to be serviced as well.

For A Lasting Filter, Whole House Is Recommended.

July 13th, 2009
by Zachus J Winestone

With the vast range of filters available nowadays, from countertop to camping filters, choosing one that lasts a life time is not easy. When health and well-being is involved families should install the best water filter available and there is one type of filter that fits the bill, a filter whole house system. These filters are the best because it supplies the entire house with quality drinking water.

Unlike other filters which can only filter one water outlet at any one time, a filter whole house system is able to filter water to kitchen taps, bathroom taps, toilets, showers, and even garden sprinklers. From personal experience, these filters are very easy to install. All I had to do was to attach the input line from the water source to my whole house filter. Some of these filters, including the one I have, have an in built by-pass valve that can be used to control whenever you want to wash your cars or water your lawn with normal water. This feature will save you on electricity bills and unnecessary water filter use.

I also found this system to be so effective that all the faucet outlets in my house were receiving the same quality of water at the same water pressure rate. With other water filters water pressure coming out from your taps is reduced and this can get frustrating.

Whole house is good for those who get their water from a well source or from a municipal water source. Getting water from these sources is at times dangerously contaminated with disease carrying bacteria and chemicals such as chlorine, lead and fluoride. These chemicals and bacteria when overly consumed are known to affect your health and can even lead to cancer in some cases.

To have a filter whole house system is better and much cheaper than having multiple faucet filters around your house. Over time dirt water can start to corrode the pipes with sediments and heavy corroding minerals. Changing these pipes can cost you a fortune leaving you with an over spent budget. Installing a whole house will prevent this from happening whereby ensuring that only clean water free of chemicals and large sediments flow through your water pipes.

Two years after Investing in a filter whole house system and my doctors and plumbing bills have reduced immensely. My family absolutely loves the quality of our water everyday and they believe its having a direct impact on their health and well-being. So just a food for thought, if you are considering a water filter than a whole house system should definitely be an option.

Water filters, purifiers- Helps Improve Health and Living

June 15th, 2009
by Zachus J Winestone

An invention worth noting in this modern world is a water filtration system or more commonly known as water filter. As the population of the world is growing so is the demand for pure clean drinking water. More people are now buying bottled water due to the growing health problems associated with contaminated water from taps. With the modern water filters now available, getting water from taps are just as good as bottled ones. Faucet water filters, purifiers other filtration systems are proving popular among health enthusiasts whom are genuinely care for their families health.

In the different water plants, there are different water filters, purifiers that are available. For instance, there are quite a number of plants that use one or many of the following filters to keep their water clean. These are media filters, sand filters, cloth filters and disc filters. They are great for filtering most of the impurities that can occur naturally in the water sources that we use.

Houses too also need their own set of water filters, purifiers and filtration system. Household water filters come in wide variety from faucet filters, countertop filters, under sink filters and whole house filters, garden filters and even shower filters. Finding the appropriate water filter that will suit your needs is the only hardest part of choosing your filter. Firstly I would suggest you educate yourself on your local water source. Knowing where your water is coming from will help you in chose the best filter. Secondly know what type of chemicals are been used to disinfect your water. If your source of water supply is a municipal one like most others than you definitely need a filter. I personally, like whole house filters because it purifiers water from all outlets in the house, allows the same rate of water flow and there is no filter cleaning needed.

If you are quite happy with your water source but still want some sort of water filter in your house for drinking purposes then faucet filters may be an option. Other great affordable water filters and purifiers are countertop and under sink filters. These are excellent water filters basic for everyday usage. The only downside these filters is the rate at which you get water. Because water is being filtered upon delivery water pressure is slowed down a little bit. The only filter that can exert same amounts of water pressure is the whole house filter.

There are also portable water filtration filters that fit into a reusable plastic bottle for the people that are looking for clean water when they are on the go. People have also found ways of creating home made water filters. It is as easy as visiting your local library or performing a Google search.

The fact of the matter is, water filters can do you a world of difference when it comes to healthy living. It is a fact that more people are linking contaminated water to the disease cancer especially with the vast chemicals used to disinfect the water. In my opinion it doesn’t matter which filter you chose so long as you use one.

Whole House Water Filtration system-A Good Investment

June 12th, 2009
by Zachus J Winestone

Having a filter whole house system in most households is now becoming the new thing. More and more people are now starting to understand that drinking water straight from taps isnt necessarily good for the health, especially of your have a municipal water source. Lets face nobody in their right mind would want to shower let alone drink water which is dirty and contaminated. This is precisely why you need a whole house filter, to protect your familys health and well-being.

If youre doubtful about how contaminated your current water source is, then I suggest that you do a little research. All it takes is just 10minutes on the computer and youll find documentation supporting my statement. The diseases involved with drinking unfiltered water are enormous and fatal to anyones health. If you notice that your drinking water has and odor of chlorine and tastes funny then you may need a water filter specific to your needs.

Because of this, it is important that whole house water filtration systems are put into place. The biggest complaint that seems to come from people about these systems is the price? But just consider the price you will pay when you are ingesting water that is filled with harmful bacteria. How much is the health of a person really worth? In the end, it will be easy to see that any price that must be paid is well worth it. The whole house water filtration system is something that should be in every home.

Its understandable that many people are upset at water companies for not advising us on all the information, but this is the problem not the solution. However, its great to know that we can protect ourselves. A whole house water filter is a great place to start. It will filter contaminants like chlorine, Voc’s, THM’s and a host of other contaminants that can cause cancer and a whole host of other diseases. This is especially important for our young children and our elderly. Chlorine removal for people who rely on municipal water systems should be the first to purchase a whole house water filter.

It is also a good idea to make sure that you are discussing with your family and friends what you have learned about the quality of water coming into your home. Even though water issues have been greatly discussed by the news media, they may not truly know about the harm that can come from unclean water. Share the knowledge you have and help your loved ones find a whole house water filtration system that is right for them.

The more you and your loved ones know about the dangers and concerns of unfiltered water, the safer you will be. In the end, filtered water is the only way to go and you will be able to taste and feel the difference right away
