The Rising Need For Packaging

October 12th, 2009
by Dylan McThomas

During these last ten years, more and more businesses are focusing on the order and delivery side of business. This is mainly because of how far the Internet has advanced as a commerce tool. As a result of this the delivery and packaging industries are booming like never before.

Not only has the demand for packaging increased year on year since the early to mid 90s, but during the current recession people are less keen to shop on the high street and have begun looking for bargains online, meaning that the demand for packaging is still increasing.

There are a huge amount of packaging companies available but the type of packaging you need really depends on what it is youre packaging. Many packaging companies will have a minimum order such as 50 of each box type, but if your are a smaller company then you will probably want to avoid these companies. It is of course, also important to keep packing expenditure to a minimum so that it only has a small affect on turnover.

Many companies offer a printing service on their boxes, i.e. they will print your company’s logo or name on the boxes to act a bit of extra advertising not only for your existing customers who will receive the box, but for anyone who comes into contact with it before hand or indeed afterwards and for the rest of that box’s life.

The cost of your packaging will of course depend on what type of box you need, whether you need a single or double walled box will be a determining factor in the price. Double walled boxes are obviously a little more expensive than the single walled, but they are more suitable for containing heavier items. You should also consider what inner packaging you will use to prevent any damage during transportation such as bubble wrap or loose fill.

Creative And Successful Small Business Ideas

July 12th, 2009
by Fran Valle

The twelve year boom within the meal prep business is done. Locally, several locations recently announced their closings including SuperSuppers in East Hanover, NJ and Annie’s Kitchen in Westfield. However, the next generation of home meal services combining new small business ideas and traditional quality and value is evolving as trends in the industry mandate rapid change.

DinnerSmith.com in Maplewood, NJ is a business that is quickly rising to new levels of success. The owners of the business, Fran Valle Sharon Grey and Mary Mead Smith believe that part of their success is the fact that the business is privately owned which allows them a great deal of space where creativity is concerned.

Many food customers these days are asking for completely fresh and organic ingredients. There has been such a high concentration of medical information about the health benefits of eating less processed foods that many people are seeking foods that are totally health conscious. This is a big part of the effort being made by DinnerSmith.

“I will continue to buy from DinnerSmith and I recommend them highly to anyone with a busy lifestyle or anyone who is just plain tired of cooking 7 nights a week,” says Lynne Mahoney, an enthusiastic customer.

For small business ideas to be successful, one has to be extremely observant so that new trends can be incorporated. Awareness of food allergies is an area where grocery stores are providing service to their customers by offering many different kinds of foods that are free of common allergens.

Meal services like DinnerSmith.com are responding to these opportunities to help others by offering alternative ingredients and tips on substitutions to make a meal work based on their dietary needs. They also offer full-disclosure of their ingredients, especially sauces, and mixtures like salsa, salad dressing and even chicken stock which often contains allergens like soy or wheat.

Something that is very important in small business ideas is attention to small niches in the market. One such area that demands attention is the population segment of single working people.

These people would like to have the same opportunities and choices where food is concerned as the family of five or six. The size of their need should not determine the importance of their need. They are a market segment that should not be ignored.

“DinnerSmith.com is one of the few home meal services that offer a single portion size to serve one person in addition to our three and six potion sizes that serve larger families,” responds Valle to this need.

Many businesses that are involved in the food industry have not been able to respond with a personal touch to these specific needs and so have had no choice but to close. For small business ideas to work there has to be a possibility of leverage so that there can be an effective response to the needs of the customers.

Not so in the happy hamlet of Maplewood, NJ where owners, Mary, Fran and Sharon grow their fledgling business DinnerSmith on the faith that through their service they can help make food a tremendous source of joy and good health for their friends and neighbors.

EXT Creates Social Networks that Actually Do Something!

April 23rd, 2009
by Shweta Singh

Social networking has become a way of life for most people. While sites such as FaceBook and MySpace are certainly entertaining, they were not created with a cause in mind. EXT.com is about to change the way that social networks, well, work. With a clear purpose in mind, EXT aims to mobilize its members towards specific, life changing, goals.

With the help of knowledge and experience, EXT members will be able to band together in order to form social networks that accomplish like-minded goals. One such social network is already in place. Cancer.ext.com is one of the first social networks with a conscience. Cancer patients, advocates, and supporters can gather at Cancer.ext.com in order to learn, talk, and band together in order to fight cancer.

In addition, Cancer.ext.com’s MAP (Mission Adaptive Plan) connects cancer researchers, patients, and survivors with one another. Literally a roadmap towards fighting cancer, MAP provides each person with step-by-step instructions that effectively help all those affected by cancer to find their way on the web. Drawing from the experiences of those that have gone through cancer before, MAP is an all-inclusive directory towards cancer networks, groups, and information.

Cancer.ext.com aims to help effected by cancer find their way. Providing knowledge, an easily navigable system, and endless bits of resources, Cancer.ext.com is the first social network aimed at fighting cancer. Surviving this disease means learning as much as possible about it. While the internet holds a wealth of information, it is not easy to sift through all the false sites in order to find those that are valid.

Cancer.ext.com will change the way that those seeking cancer knowledge search the internet. Valuable resources such as MAP easily provide a well lighted pathway towards cancer information. MAP takes all the guesswork out of trying to understand a cancer diagnosis with the help of those that have been there before. While there are plenty of social networks to be found online, only one of them actually does something to benefit important causes. EXT and Cancer.ext.com have begun to change social networks forever – be a part of this great revolution.

Increase Search Engine Traffic With Free Blog Comment Tool

March 17th, 2009
by Rosie Cottis

Want to increase search engine traffic to your site? Try leaving comments on blogs!

Leaving comments on blogs is one of the quickest and most effective ways to bring more traffic to your site. It builds links that some search engines will follow, and it brings actual visitors who will click through from your comment to your site.

What’s more, if you do this right, the traffic that you get will be highly targeted. That is, your visitors will be people who are truly interested in your site and what you have to offer.

Hey wait … before you go rushing off to hunt down blogs one by one all by yourself, I can give you a free tool that will save you a lot of time. And time is money, after all, especially when you can cut down your research time to almost nothing, and still get great results.

So you can use the time you have saved to post more comments on more blogs, bringing more and more visitors to your site!

Right now, Portal Feeder are giving away a FREE tool called Comment Kahuna that searches the internet for blogs on the same subject as your site. That means that the people who visit those blogs will be interested in visiting your site too.

Plus it puts the blogs in order by page rank, which is an indicator of the traffic that the blog is likely to get. This means you don’t go wasting your time on low ranking blogs that nobody ever visits.

All you need to do is leave a short but relevant comment on the blog. Be sure to enter your web site address so that people can click through to your site.

It doesn’t matter what your site is about. This software will find blogs on almost any subject you can imagine.

I don’t think there is a subject so obscure that there would not be a blog on the same topic. But if that happens, no problem, just widen your search terms a little bit.

For example, if your site is about training pedigree siamese cats to walk backwards on a leash, there might not be a lot of blogs about that exact topic. But if you look for blogs about siamese cats, you will find tons! And some of the visitors to those sites will be interested in teaching their cat to walk backwards, so they are perfect targeted visitors for your site.
