Wedding Cars – Should I hire A Classic Car for My Wedding Day

March 17th, 2010

Everyone wants to look back on their wedding day with fond memories. Your wedding day is one of the most monumental days of their life, and one that you would want to enjoy in style. One aspect of the day which is often over looked is the wedding transport.

But should I hire a classic wedding car? The answer to this question begins by defining a classic car, the classic car is a wedding car favourite and the phrase ‘classic car’ is any motor car no longer in production, manufactured between the 1950s and the 1970s that were highly-priced when new, have marque loyalty, and still very popular today. These vehicles were built in small quantities with custom coachwork and luxury accessories, they have character, great charm and style. Their workmanship is of the highest quality which usually means they have a nicer more comfortable ride.

Classic wedding car hire comes in various styles and can be a great photo opportunity for your wedding album and video as well for your guests photos. Some guests may wait outside the church to see you arrive, and then everybody will see you and your groom leave for, and arrive at your reception. So you want your wedding transport to be something special and maybe tie in with your wedding theme or venue.

Classic cars are a favourite choice of bridal car and selecting the right wedding transport is largely a matter of personal choice. There are a large number of alternative vehicles available from a Daimler Limousine, which is a vehicle with a glass partition behind the driver, to the traditional classic chauffeur driven saloons such as a 1970s Rolls Royce Silver Shadow. These are splendidly grand and spacious wedding cars, expensive to buy and maintain, they are usually more expensive to hire than modern vehicles, but are glorious wedding vehicles.

No matter which bridal car model is decided on for the wedding day, make sure your wedding car will stand out from the crowd, because this is the day when you want to be noticed by everyone. Consider using the wedding car in a few of the wedding photos to make the experience last a life time. With such a wide wedding car selection, it is important to decide on the wedding car type that best suits your needs and wishes.

With this information you can start looking for a wedding car company with these types of cars, many wedding car websites have pictures of the their cars and offer advise on the limitations of distance and seating capacity etc. The more detailed the information you provide when contacting them, the more accurate the quotation that is offered.

It is always recommended to arrange to view older cars to check the cars condition before booking, and reputable companies will always agree to this. It will also identify whether the company is an agent or the actual wedding car owner.

Enjoying Your Wedding Day

March 10th, 2010

The man of your dreams has romantically proposed, of course you say yes! You rush to tell family and friends, you excitedly set the date, life is good… next comes the wedding planning, juggling your time and money, ploughing through endless to do lists, politely rising above interfering friends and family and resisting the will to throw or break something when your car driver carelessly double books and cancels one week before the date.

Miraculously you kept on track, you kept your calm and your mind -the day is set to be a success! But wait, you’re worried that surely something will go wrong, something will indeed be misplaced, broken, forgotten – disaster! Not to worry, we have a few answers to the most common anxieties a bride will face.

Lets be honest, the only problem that cant be fixed and would make the whole day fall to pieces is the ‘no- show’ of one of the leading roles, your self or your partner!
Your beloved, he will show! – Of course he will, relax, he did ask you after all, and he hasn’t bolted during the chaotic planning of the day when maybe once or twice bridezilla threw a tantrum or two. He’s in for the ride and cannot wait to make you his other half

*It’s definitely recommend that you make it clear to the ‘best mate’ to not whisk the stags off too ‘pre-wedding’ at least a week before is safe, a hung-over groom, a groom in a jail cell or a groom in another country would not be wedding bliss!

Your bridesmaids – your best friends, and perhaps the cousin you’ve not seen since you were 5? They are your rocks, they are also your squat team, use them, keep them focused (and never more drunk than yourself), they can deal with any stresses on your behalf leaving you free to enjoy and experience your day.

* We recommend that you give at least two of your bridesmaids an emergency recovery kit to keep in there bags, consisting of useful bits to combat any unplanned predicaments; nail varnish to double whammy chipped nails and ladders in stockings! Hairspray to keep your locks looking no less than perfection, a sewing kit to be prepared for any snags or tears, wipes to remove any stains, makeup for vital touch ups and perfume to keep you smelling sweet.

Good company -, Enjoy having all of your friends and family in the same place, catch up, reminisce, and enjoy the party, they are all here to help you celebrate your big day and they couldn’t be happier for you, you have spent a lot of time planning the day so please take time to enjoy it – make it worth it!

Now what?-

The day after can be a strange feeling – it’s all over, no more planning – what on earth will you do with your time? well actually its not over yet, first your honeymoon, then your present opening and thank-you cards, your name changing forms, wedding albums…

A wedding is an event that most people wish of having in their own special way. It is an event that happens once in a lifetime, that when executed properly and with panache, will leave an impression that will last for a very long time. Along the years, we have seen numerous unique weddings occur. We’ve seen the most glamorous and most expensive weddings. We’ve also seen the most outrageous and most absurd weddings take place. It seems that as time passes by, weddings are taking on personalities of their own, often brought about by the couple. Nevertheless, in all weddings one thing should stand out as a traditional practice- etiquette. Wedding etiquette is a traditional code of behavior in weddings and other formal events. Wedding etiquette is highly important in a wedding and should be stressed with a lot of importance as it will dictate the overall atmosphere of the event. Having said that, it’s safe to say that wedding etiquette plays a highly important part in the result of a wedding. We’ve laid out some of the most important wedding etiquette tips for you to implement and remember during your very own wedding .

Send Your Invitation Early

When planning a wedding, it is necessary to send out your invitations to your guests as early as possible. It is only proper to let your guests know when, where, and what time you will get married so that both you and your guests can plan and prepare ahead of time. Likewise, it will also allow them to have enough time to look for an outfit and find their wedding gifts.

Send Invitations to All Your Guests Even If You Know They’re Not Coming

As soon as you and your planner have mapped out the number of guests you’ll be having at the wedding and determining who you will be inviting, it is important to start crafting the invitations. It’s very important to send out all the invitations to everyone on your guest list even if you know they are not going to make it. This is an act of cordiality and respect, which in turn, displays to them your steadfastness and your sincerity towards your wedding.

Have a Dress Code

Having a dress code seems to be quite obvious; nonetheless during weddings, a lot of people still forget that there is a dress code that they should adhere to. One thing is standard when we talk about the dress code, formal and nothing short is the way to go.

Arrange the Speeches

The speeches are something we always look forward to. It’s essential for the newly weds to create their vows, and the best man and the maid of honor to make their speeches for the couple.

Edible Wedding Favors

October 12th, 2009
by Lucille Smith

Often couples just cannot make a decision about what gifts to present to their guests and in this situation it always worth falling back on edible wedding favors. Whether you opt for sweet or savory items you and your guests are likely to enjoy them. One of the most popular is a simple chocolate bar with a personalized wrapper. Some people go out of their way to ensure the chocolate is from a specialist candy or quality department store. Making the wrapper personal to the couple adds a special touch when you see their names and other details of the wedding printed on it.

Many couples decide to personalize their favor even more by having a picture of them on the wrapper. Couples that would prefer something different for their edible wedding favors should try candy in a tin instead. These tins become mementos of the big day if the bride and groom have gone to the trouble of having the wedding details placed on every tin. You can guarantee your guests will take the tins away with them even if they are empty because not only will they be a reminder of the day but they are practical as well. Candy is still the most popular choice of edible wedding favor and it will probably continue to be while we all enjoy sweet foods.

A simple option here is to use a large glass display bowl that is full of various types of candy. Otherwise a small container, which can be themed if appropriate, can be used instead. The guests can fill the containers with some of the candy from the centerpiece at the end of the evening. If you are looking for a different edible wedding favor idea then why not try arranging for the guests to have cookies instead of candy. By using plain cookies, it is easy to present them in a nice box with the bride and grooms names plus the date and location of the wedding.

These days it is easy to insert images onto anything and a cookie isn’t any more difficult than a wrapper. Cookies can be baked in a variety of shapes so all that needs to be done is to supply a picture for them to imprint. For something completely different, consider using beverages for the edible wedding favors; tea and coffee spring to mind but there are others.

These too can be customized to suit the occasion and if you are going to all the effort of supplying something this exclusive, why shouldn’t they be customized. Putting the couple’s names as well as the wedding date on the package is a good idea as well as including a picture of the couple. These are just a few gift ideas for your guests, I’m sure you can think of more if these do not interest you.

Where To Find Wedding Toast Examples – Top Tips

October 9th, 2009
by Ursula Stein

The internet is crawling with websites for sample wedding toasts. Just Google sample wedding toast and it is likely that you will find millions of sites, advertisements and sponsored links. People preparing for the wedding speech always ask me if it is impersonal to use an example wedding toast.

In a nutshell, no, it is not and here are the reasons:

Are these example toasts for losers? I believe that everyone who has to make a wedding toast has at some point searched through the internet for a professionally written toast. Of course this makes sense to do this and is no way reserved for losers! Every good speech you hear has always been well researched and drafted numerous times. Professional example toasts are to be used as a template for you to begin with.

What do I get out of them? People mainly use sample wedding toasts for format and structure, whether you are the groom, bride, groomsman, father of the bride or maid of honor, there is an intrinsic speech format that is expected be it people who should be thanked, things you say about the bride and groom and indeed items that need to be avoided. All professionally written sample wedding toasts will have a beginning, body and an end. People do spend time reviewing these examples before putting pen to paper for their own speeches.

Should I include jokes? Sure as long as they are clean! Unless you have a lot of public speaking experience, keep jokes very short. Long stories sometimes get muddled and have a tendency to lose the audience. There are a number of places on the internet where you can find wedding toast specific one liners and these are worth having a look at.

Do I need to review many toasts? I would suggest that you start with about ten or so and see if you spot the similar structure flowing through them. Then you may want to start to draft your own wedding toast. Once you have a draft completed, then maybe read another ten to top up your ideas. I have met people who have read hundreds but that maybe overkill!

5 Haunting Tips For A Great Twilight Party

October 6th, 2009
by Aaron Hu

This fall a lot of “Twi-Hards” will be waiting with baited breath for the release of New Moon in theatres. The movie continues the story of Bella and Edward as their relationship faces a new set of challenges with Bella ending up in a love triangle between her, her werewolf friend Jacob, and Edward and that is just the beginning. If you are planning your own themed party based on the movie you are probably wondering what you can do to set your party apart from the rest. Here are some great ideas for Twilight themed party decorations that will be sure to make you the envy of your friends.

The very first thing you need to do is pick a venue. Will you be having a house party or doing it at a public place? This will help you know what you have to work with when decorating. Normally a smaller place is good because you won?t have to spend as much on decorations. So if you are just having a get together with your gal pals then go for intimate. If it is an all out bash go for a more public venue with added event services. This will make planning that much easier.

The next thing to think about is the Theme. New Moon is the part of the Twilight franchise where we get introduced to werewolves. However they are not like the traditional kind and are rooted in Native American legend. This alone can give you a lot of interesting ideas to work with as you start decorating. Of course your basic colors will be dictated by the book covers so you will be using red, black, and white. As I mentioned before the werewolves in New Moon are Native Americans so look online for great items you can use to decorate the venue and mix with more common Twilight themed gear. Of course try to use movie posters, posters of the book cover, and life sized cut-outs of the actors as items to decorate with. You can also use more standard party gear like balloons and streamers.

Another thing to think about is favors. Once again movie promotional merchandise is your friend. You can also go with edible favors. Since is near the time for Halloween you should be able to find some great Twilight themed candy. If you are not sure what everyone will like try having a candy bar and get nice favor boxes to put them in. You can also use other fall favorites like candied apples and pumpkin flavor pastries. You can also give stationary, diaries, pens, or party toys such as fake fangs with wolf and vampire themes.

Another thing to take into account is activities. If the party is going to be a sleep over watching Twilight on DVD or reading New Moon are great suggestions. Also try to look up cool movie themed games online. You will be amazed at some of the innovative games and activities you will find.

Of course a party is not a party without food. First try to serve some of the foods mentions in the Twilight series such as lasagna, pizza, or spaghetti. You can also have vampire themed desserts like vanilla ice cream covered in strawberry syrup. You can also have a Twilight Cake with an edible image topper.

3 Unique Suggestions For Twilight Party Decorations

October 6th, 2009
by Aaron Hu

With the release of the film adaptation of “New Moon” coming out this November, Twilight mania is finding new life this fall. If you are a devoted fan of the series, take advantage of this time to plan your own themed party based on your favorite series. If you are a newbie and are just looking for the next hot things for parties this fall, here is some background info. Twilight is a book series by Stephenie Meyer, that is about the romance between a teenager and vampire who goes to her school. The couple has to struggle with their own insecurities and the strength of their feelings while also dealing with the consequences of a mortal being privy to the secret world of the supernatural. Whether you are a fan or newcomer, here are some great party tips to help you get started.

Use the book covers of the series as inspiration for your decoration colors. If you look at the official covers for the Twilight series, the colors used are white, black, and red. Use these colors in all your party decorations from balloons and streamers to centerpieces and wall decorations. To take it a step further, get blown up posters of the covers and use them as wall decorations.

The next place to draw inspiration from is the Movie adaptation of Twilight. The movie did a great job picking the cast to best embody the characters in the book. A great idea is to use movie posters with images of the characters also as decorations. You take it up a notch with life sized cut-out of the characters. This way you can have your guests take photos with them. Another innovative idea is to take promotional pictures from the film and photo shop yourself in with your favorite characters. These will be certain to impress your guests, especially if they are fans.

Another decoration idea is to use the shapes from the book covers to guide your decorations. A great example I saw was a centerpiece that used Tulips and stemmed apples on a red and white chess board set. These are three of the main images on the book covers. You can also take it a step further with apple shaped candles. Your guests will feel like they stepped into the book covers.

Another design idea comes straight from the first book, Twilight. At the end of the first book Bella and Edward go to prom. So try thinking about copying the prom look from the movie and as describe in the book to add extra glitz to your event. You will need more floral arrangements formed in arches and scattered around the party area. You will need twinkle lights to add to the atmosphere.

Music in itself can be a decoration adding to the mood of the event. A great place to start is to go the Stephenie Meyer website. She has playlists of all the songs that she used inspire her as she wrote the books. You can also use the movie soundtrack. Don?t stop there. Also add tracks of your favorite songs that you wished were part of the soundtrack. A personal favorite I think would be appropriate is Evanescence. You can also borrow from the sound tracks of other shows like Moonlight. This show while it was cancelled has one of the best TV soundtracks I?ve ever come across.

October 6th, 2009
by Greg Black

The role of bridesmaids and groomsmen during any wedding event is proven most helpful especially for the couple to be married. These are the people who stick with you up to your special event to share this utmost achievement with you, and be happy with you as well. Hence, it is important that you do not forget their worth and show your appreciation to them. The groom should definitely think well of what to give as groomsmen gifts.

These days, there are a number of groomsmen gift ideas that you can get online. By checking on search engines, you will see that there are a lot of websites offering options in buying gifts for groomsmen. You can choose from getting the traditional or conventional groomsmen gifts that you can personalize. Here are the following groomsmen gifts that you can give.

Flasks. Liquor flasks can be something that your groomsmen can bring with them anywhere as they can fit inside their coat pockets. They can use these to keep them warm if the temperature is too cold. It is possible for them to store their whiskey or other liquors.

The next options are money clips. The guys would have very hard time keeping money as most of them would just put their money inside their pockets without organization. With money clips, they would be able to organize and keep their bills inside their pockets.

Third, you may want to give them some classic style fountain pens. Aside from just being gifts, pens can also be very useful for them as they can use it for work or even at school.

Key chains. You can choose key chains that are classically designed. In this way, they are not only going to have something that is very functional for daily work but are also nice accessories for their pouches and bags. They can definitely display these by putting your keys in it and use it on an everyday basis.

And if you want to make these gifts very special, you may want to personalize it. Most of these gifts are made of metal so you may want to have their names engraved on these gifts. Aside from names, you may also want to engrave other things that they love like musical symbols, sports team logos and others.

By choosing them as your groomsmen, you have surely made them feel very special and nothing more can emphasize that aside from giving gifts. These gifts for groomsmen are something that they would really appreciate and remind them of a very important day in your life.
