How To Make Your Own Detailed Custom 3d Models If You Are Starting In The 3d

January 30th, 2010

Custom 3d models are in most cases not easy to make when you don’t possess the 3d skills and experience. You also have to be familiar with the required tools, including many 3d software programs and plugins and keep up with the trends in the 3d industry.

3D models are representations of real objects virtually and are generated and displayed via computer software. This means that the way you chose or require your 3d modeling services firm to display it, the interface and plugins as well as the angle are all very important because the width and depth changes depending on the point of view or camera angle that is represented.

These virtual representations start as simple meshes comprised on polygons and are later rendered via specific and powerful applications into 2D renders or images. For this step you will need very good rendering skills that can get you renders of custom 3d models that are realistic looking and highly detailed.

These 3d models initially look like wireframes comprised on points and lines. The more detailed the denser the wireframe. They are then rendered via specific software and plugins and into file formats that can be used by graphic artists for a variety of projects including avatars and environments for real life worlds, in the health care fields, including models of internal organs, simulations, and of course print materials, tutorials, games engines, etc.

Generally talented individuals make and customize 3D models enjoy spending a lot of time on the computer, pay attention to details and have artistic inclinations. However, this might not be enough when on a time crunch or in a driven business environment where cutting costs is important.

Your budget as well as the amount of time that you have available to complete the task can play a part in whether your team uses an existing and reliable 3d modeling service or invests time in learning this new skill. There are many benefits when make your own custom 3d models because you get what you need; you imagine it and create it.

The drawback of trying to make your own 3d models is that professional quality 3D models that are customized to your needs are rarely produced quickly, even by the highly skilled 3d modelers. This can mean a lot of time lost and may make this not a very good solution to pursue. However, dependable 3d modeling services will generally offer custom 3d models or customization of stock 3d models by experienced 3d modelers with faster delivery time because they specialize in just doing this and don’t have to go through the learning curve that perhaps you or your team might have to in order to achieve the same results.

The bottom line when considering on using 3d modeling services is the actual return on your investment. This is because it usually comes down to the price vs. the time that can be lost during production if you decide not to outsource your 3d needs. Another thing to take into account is that your team members or employees may not have the abilities or wish to even try to make their own 3d models.

Using 3D modeling services is common for businesses like ad agencies, medical professionals, video makers and architects due to their ability to cut down their costs and getting the custom 3d models done fast. Creating 3d models is normally just too slow and occasionally too dear compared to the cost of just getting custom 3d models.

When looking to learning new program interfaces, select the 3d modeling software carefully. Keep in mind this like easy of use, intuitive interface, features, licensing cost, plugins available, upgrades, and the king of formats and results that you can achieve. There are some open source applications available but be aware that they may lack some of the features of paid professional software, not have enough documentation or support. In fact, start slow and use tutorials that help you build straightforward and simple object and continue to each day learn more about it.

Therefore, when you get your custom 3d models made by 3d modeling services you save time and money. However, before you go ahead and get these services, consider putting a comprehensive list of the things you need. After all, the more time you put into making the decision to use the services and defining your requirements, the more satisfied you will be with the results that you will get.

You can see more examples of using existing 3d models to create high quality custom 3d models with stock 3d models from existing libraries, like FlatPyramid.com. They also offer stock 3d models and offer 3d modeling services and for this month only they have some very detailed ones available for download.

Draw a Cartoon Me Face Avatar

December 19th, 2009

When I was younger I wanted to learn how to draw cartoons of photographs. It is difficult to draw an accurate cartoon me face because it can take a lot of practice. Drawing simple cartoons and tracing is quite easy, but when you try to draw a cartoon when you are looking at a photo is very difficult.

Drawing a caricature sometimes looks silly, but it it takes lots of work and skill to draw a carton me face of someone by just looking at a photo. When I use to draw cartoons in the beginning, some of them just ended up looking silly without me trying too hard.

I’d take my box of 64 Crayola crayons and use the tiny sharpener on the back. I’d pick my favorite colors whether or not they matched or not I did not care. I might try to draw a cartoon me face of my buddies and they’d giggle.

As I matured so did my drawings, but I was still unable to draw a cartoon me face that even seemed like a person. I’d try drawing someone’s nose for hours and then after a bit it just got so distorted I just would color over it.

You can add lots of colors to your drawings to make them come alive. Drawing women and their eyes is much more difficult than drawing men. I like to draw a cartoon me face of men and then add a beard and mustache. They are easy to draw and really improve the definition of the cartoons features.

Taking an art class will definitely cut the learning curve to drawing a cartoon me face. Art classes definitely help add detail to your drawings and almost bring them to life.

Art classes are comparatively cheap and offered at art colleges and community colleges everywhere. A new way to make a cartoon me face is to download a computer program to help you with the drawing. Finding the right program is straightforward and many of them are completely free.

Drawing cartoons takes a lot of time and patience although it is still very entertaining. One of the most challenging things will always be to draw a cartoon me face by just looking at a photo.

Creating a cartoon me face of someone from a photograph makes a great gift and is sure to make all of your friends and family laugh. Just practice for a few hours and you will be drawing cartoon me avatars of yourself and everyone you know.

Get Perfect Results Every Time with Plastic Injection Molding

July 19th, 2009
by Cedric McJackson

In this day and age where the economy is struggling, businesses are looking for new and better ways to save money. However, often overlooked is the tried and true way of saving money, especially in manufacturing products.

One of these time tested techniques that has proven time and time again to be both affordable and reliable is Plastic injection molding. This is a process that was invented in the late 1800s and while the product itself has not changed, the way that it is used has and there have been improvements in delivery that allows the mass production of products at an affordable rate.

Companies around the world use Plastic injection molding to make parts, toys, plastic cartons, car parts and so much more. In fact, this process has been used to replace non insulated metal parts, often combining three or four metal parts into one plastic one.

This provides additional savings to consumers because plastic is less expensive than metal and they are also paying for less parts. One of the reasons that this product (and process) is so widely used is because of the high quality of the end product. Plastic injection molding produces a beautifully finished product and requires little to no reworking once it is produced.

These machines are designed to produce high volumes of a product, so Plastic injection molding may not necessarily be for smaller businesses that only sell a minimum amount of a product. This is because you have to have metal molds made and those can be costly.

Using this method and product is a great way for a company to save money. Mass production has always been the best method for cost saving. The more of a product you purchase (in this case it would be the plastic) the less expensive the cost is to you per pound.

If you are a company that produces anything from toys to car parts and you are not using Plastic injection molding to produce your parts, then you are spending too much money. You do not even have to purchase a machine yourself, you can hire companies that will produce the product for you and you will still save money over other methods of producing your product.

This makes it possible for you to only think about growing your business rather than the production side of things.

To create this effect by hand or as we refer to the 2D was painstakingly consuming. The artist will have to draw a brand new picture each time the object moved in whatsoever way. Then each of these pictures will be put together consecutively. These’re named as cell animation and hand drawn animation. Even though it was detailed and alot of work, it was well respected by the true animator and taken with pleasure by the viewer.

Say you appear to have a knack for drawing but have had zero training you will want to consider taking several art lessons and at the least acquiring the basics before you attempt 3D animation.

Finally, you should be alert that it is not merely a matter of mastering the software. Large production organizations have had their individual soft-ware designed specifically for them.
