Learn How To Astral Project Naturally

February 28th, 2010

Each and every person in the world can astral project. In fact, many of us do so, although we might not know that this is what we’re doing. The ability to consciously astral project and be in control of the experience can be learned with practice.

We’ll assume that you already know about the astral plane and the astral body. Instead of defining these terms, we’ll cover methods of learning how to astral project. It’s something that everyone does a little differently, so you need to find the techniques which perform the best for you individually.

The following technique is a five-step process which can be done as you’re lying in bed before you fall asleep.

*First; relax your body completely, trying to achieve a state of deep relaxation throughout your body. While you’re lying there, tense and then release all of your muscles, starting from your toes and working your way towards your head. You may start feeling very heavy; this is natural and indicates deep physical relaxation.

*Second; Focus on your breathing. Take deep, slow breaths and concentrate on the feeling of the air filling your lungs. Exhale slowly, visualizing your tension and stress leaving your body each time you exhale.

*Third; Focus on the relaxed, heavy way your physical body feels. It probably feels like a heavy lump of clay or a slab of stone. Now turn your focus to the way that your astral body feels weightless and able to float free of your physical body. Imagine your astral body drifting upwards from the bed.

*Fourth; Now you may have the experience of being able to see perfectly well in your darkened room which should now be illuminated by a purple light; even though your eyes are closed! Turn your attention to the light which is coming from your ceiling.

*Fifth; Try to visualize pulling this light to your astral body. You’ll feel like you’re floating; this is your astral body floating above your physical body. Just look down and you’ll be able to see your bed with your physical body at rest below.

At this point you are now astral projecting and your astral body is free to begin traveling the astral plane. If you aren’t able to successfully astral project using this technique, you can try the following method.

This is called the gazing method and is used by many when learning how to astral project. It’s a very simple method where you focus your complete attention on an object. This can be anything as long as its within your line of sight while you lie in bed.

With this object in your line of sight, lie in bed and focus on it. Even as your eyes begin to feel heavy, continue to focus on the object, staring at it. Eventually you won’t be able to keep your eyes open, but you should be able to see it even now with your eyes closed. You might feel like sitting or standing, so go ahead; but don’t panic when you see your sleeping physical body lying in bed!

Don’t give up if you don’t succeed the first time you try these techniques. Practice makes perfect and if you just aren’t having luck with these methods, there are plenty of others you can try. Just stick with it and be patient and you’ll learn how to astral project sooner than you think.

What’s really important isn’t how you get there, but that you can overcome your subconscious skepticism about astral projection. You have to repeat to your subconscious that there’s nothing to worry about and it’s OK for your astral body to leave on its travels. You can use affirmations to communicate this to your subconscious.

There are plenty of techniques which can make it easier to astral project and you should use whatever works best for you.

Hypnosis, especially guided hypnosis works for many; having an expert there to explain everything and tell you exactly what you need to do can be extremely helpful.

New audio technology has enabled something called binaural beats which can produce a relaxed, meditative state using slightly different frequencies in each ear. A lot of people find binaural beats to make it easy to astral project.

It’s really not that hard to learn how to astral project. It’s simply a matter of practice. You already have this capacity, but you’ll need to work at it to develop this skill. Just like learning to ride a bike, it’s something you can already do, but some practice is needed to train yourself to do it well.

Explore New Worlds With Astral Projecting

February 28th, 2010

A lot of people find that there are some stumbling blocks preventing them from successfully astral projecting. However, this is something which all of us can do. It is a natural ability which every man and woman already has. Much like riding a bike, you dont forget how; but you do have to keep in practice in order to do it well.

The biggest problem which many face as they learn astral projecting is learning to relax fully. To astral project, you have to be able to totally relax your body and your mind. There are a lot of different ways which you can relax. These methods include muscle relaxation and breathing techniques.

Naturally though if the environment is not conducive to promoting a relaxed environment then your astral projection session is not going to go as smoothly or be as successful as you would like it to be. Here are a number of tips that you can follow to help get the most out of your preparation.

*Make sure that you are not wearing jewelry or other items that are in contact with your skin. (Clothes are acceptable, but removing very tight clothing sometimes helps).

*Make sure that the room you are going to relax in and practice your astral projecting is dark. Dark enough so that light can not be seen through your eyelids, but you shouldnt turn off all the lights.

*With your head pointed north, lie down along a north-south axis. This should be easy to figure out with the sun rising in the east and setting in the west. So if our of your bedroom window you can see the sunset that means you need to be laying along the window, not with your head or feet pointing towards the window.

*Make sure that the clothing you are wearing is loose and comfortable. You want to be covered so that you are warmer the you normally are but you dont want to be hot.

*You should be doing this at a time when you are going to be free from distraction. Which means that you want a noise free place and time to practice your astral projecting.

*Start using your relaxation techniques (you should also practice these outside of your astral projecting sessions). If you want to astral project, you have to be completely relaxed.

*Begin by giving yourself some suggestions which will help you remember what happens as you astral project. You may want to keep a pen and some paper close at hand so that you can take notes on your astral projection as soon as you finish. Be sure to tell yourself before you begin I will remember. Do this at least five times.

*Practice your breathing techniques and relax.

*As you are using your breathing techniques and beginning to relax, concentrate on the blackness ahead of you.

*Next, concentrate on a point about one foot away from your forehead. Once you manage to do this, switch your focus to a point about six feet away.

*Next, imagine a line running at a 90 degree angle from this focal point to a point parallel to your body.

By following these tips, youll be well prepared for astral projecting. In order to get the best results from astral projection, you need to be in full control mentally. Your astral body may wander off randomly otherwise, which is a waste of your efforts. You can go anywhere and do anything when you are astral projecting, so make sure to think of where youd like to go and what youd like to do.

Some people who are expert in astral projecting can speak with departed loved ones and perform feats which they could never do with their physical bodies. Even if you are skeptical about astral projection, you should realize that you have done this before. Those very vivid dreams which you remember when you wake up are astral travel! However, with some practice you can astral project whenever you like and gain the benefits of this practice.

A Brief Introduction to Binaural Beats

February 4th, 2010

Binaural beats can have quite a few benefits for individuals. These advantages include items such as improving confidence, increasing creativity, memory enhancement, stress release, boosting your energy and many more advantages. Over time, you could have heard of binaural beats and the related benefits. Let us discover where binaural beats came from and find if they will be of a benefit for the intended purposes.

In the year 1839, a person by the name of Heinrich Wilhelm Dove detected the interesting phenomenon of binaural beats. When different auditory impulses (“tones”) are played to both ears at the same time but are slightly different in frequency, the difference in the Hz (hertz, or cycles per second) will be delivered to the brain as what is referred to as a “binaural beat.”

There are multiple ways this beat could be perceived. In order to achieve a 10 Hz binaural beat, two varied tones would need to be played. One tone, for example, could be played at 150 Hz to one ear, and another played at 160 Hz in the the opposite ear. The result is a variation of 10 Hz, which makes the “beat” that is perceived.

The important part to note is that the beats are perceived by the brain, not actually “heard” as you may think. These are responses in parts of the brain stem which are given from the superior olivary nucleus of each brain hemisphere. What makes this so vital is that the “beats” that are made actually cause the two sides of the brain to be in sync with one another.

These binaural beats are not just used for individuals and have been used on a bigger scale. One organization, The Monroe Institute, heavily markets this type of treatment, which has been used in hospitals and other areas. Several benefits have been achieved from utilizing the binaural beats, including less need for pain medicine, speedy recuperation, stability of blood pressure, and other benefits.

To prove this concept, a study was done in 1999 by Anesthesia that did a trial utilizing binaural beats. Three tapes were given to subjects: one with classical music, one with a blank tape, and another with a product called “Hemisync.” It was determined that the users utilizing Hemisync needed less fentanyl (which is typically used to treat chronic breakthrough pain, otherwise referred to as chronic pain) when measured against the subjects that were using the blank tape or the tape with classical music. These individuals were a mixed group, with all of them undergoing a varied number of procedures.

Thankfully, a study that was done has been released that shows the public that binaural beats can definitely be a big benefit to those who want to use them. For additional reading, please refer to the study “Hemispheric Synchronized Sounds and Intraoperative Anesthetic Requirements.

Easy Astral Projection Techniques

October 6th, 2009
by Carl J Wilkins

As is to be expected, there are many different astral projection techniques which people can use in order to help them astral project. Of course, because all people are different, it only stands to reason that while a certain technique may work for one person, it may not work for everybody. Strangely enough, most people who experience difficulty, do so because they are unable to relax sufficiently, rather than because of the techniques not working.

It simply cannot be stressed enough that total relaxation is vital if you are to achieve any measure of success with astral projection. The inability to relax seems to be more prevalent between those just starting out, largely because of fear. For the most part, this fear stems from the misconception that one can be harmed, or even die, because of the actual projection. Interestingly enough, the Canterbury institute which is renowned for their occult studies, conducted specific research in order to eliminate these fears.

In fact, the Canterbury Institute used 2,000 volunteers, all of whom participated in astral projection, and of course not one of those people were harmed in any way after following the various astral projection techniques. More importantly though, the Canterbury Institute followed all the volunteers for the next three years and during that time, none of them reported any problems and neither did any of them have any complaints.

Okay, now that we’ve managed to get rid of some of the fears and concerns, let’s go ahead and take a look at a few techniques. These techniques which are discussed are all relatively easy and have helped many people succeed. The first technique which consists of seven main steps, is known as the ‘Monroe Technique’.

* Relaxing mind and body. The simplest way to achieve this is by practicing deep breathing, in addition to relaxing all the muscles of the body one at a time. You can do this by tensing and then the releasing them, starting with your toes and then working your way up through the rest of your body.

* The hypnotic state of mind. This is simply a state of mind when your mind and body are right at the very edge of consciousness. In other words, you are right at the verge of going to sleep but it’s imperative that you do not allow yourself to actually fall asleep. This can be achieved by using what is known as the ‘gazing method’, where one focuses on an object in the room as you lie on your bed. Your aim should be to be able to see the object even when your eyes are closed.

* Once you reach a stage where you can still see the object even though your eyes are closed, you then need to deepen the state you’re in. In order to do this, you should keep your eyes closed and start looking around, taking note of all the things you can see. During this stage it is not uncommon to see various light patterns and a purple glow. However, one shouldn’t pay too much attention to this but instead, one should stay focused until such time that the light disappears. Once you no longer see the light you will have moved into a deeper state of relaxation. By this stage you mind and body is so relaxed that you will more than likely no longer be aware of your physical body.

* The next step, which according to Monroe is vital, requires that you enter a state of vibration. According to the vast majority of people who actively pursue astral projection techniques, these vibrations can usually be felt during the early stages of projection. It is widely accepted that these vibrations are felt at the stage when the astral body starts separating from the physical body. While it is important for you to feel the vibrations, one should under no circumstances be alarmed.

* Controlling your state of vibration. You can control the vibrations in such a way that they move through your body. By using your mind you can direct these vibrations so that you can feel them all over as if there were waves washing over you. However, it will require a certain amount of practice before you are able to bring on these waves at will. Once you can create these ways at will, you’re ready to leave your body.

* One of the most important factors with regards to astral projection, is having the ability to control your mind so that it’s your mind that is in power. Interestingly enough, Monroe suggests that you first practice partial separation in order to strengthen this control. Even though you should continue to focus on the idea of leaving your body, you should only allow a foot or hand of the astral body to go. Ideally, you should attempt to stretch them towards an object which is near you, and when you reach that object you should push your hand or foot straight through it. Once you manage to do this successfully, allow your hand or foot to return to your physical body and then begin to slow down the vibrations in order to end your session.

* This last step is where you actually get to leave your physical body. Once again, you can follow all the previous steps but now, rather than only allowing a hand or foot to leave from the physical body, you’re going to allow complete separation. In order to do this, you need to focus on just how weightless your body really is. In fact you can even try to imagine that your body is made up of feathers which are being blown around by the wind. At this point, your astral body should be starting to leave your physical body and this will become apparent as you begin to feel as though you are floating.

Other methods and techniques include the Anchor Technique, the Gazing Method, and the Rope Technique. Ultimately, one should be willing to try the various techniques in order to establish which one works best for you, because you can be rest assured that everyone can find a technique which works for them.

One should bear in mind that it may not be possible to astral project instantly, irrespective of which technique you use.

Thanks to modern sound technology, those wishing to astral project can now make use of a shortcut. There is currently a new technique being used in order to induce a meditative state of mind which is necessary for actual projection. This technique aims to synchronize the two hemispheres of the brain by means of binaural beats. Basically, binaural beats consists of sound waves being played into each ear using different frequencies.

One can also opt for hypnosis recordings which have been designed to assist those interested in astral projection. These aim to reassure ones subconscious mind that it’s perfectly acceptable for one to leave ones physical body.

One thing you can be sure of; astral projection is a life change inexperience, and the beauty of it is, anyone can do it, especially if you use some of the techniques mentioned.

Astral Projection – A Simple Explanation

August 25th, 2009
by Benjamin Parry

Most people will have heard at some point in time in their lives the term astral projection. It is possible they may have heard it there are a number of books, movies and people who have studied or follow a new age path. However, there are only a small number of people that understand that astral projection is both real and something that anyone and everyone can do. In fact, many people have actually experienced at least one astral projection in their lives and while some may be aware of this experience, many people are not.

We need to first look at the definition for astral projection. To state this in very simple terms, astral projection’s definition is a human being able to move out of their physical body. All humans have this ability, in fact they actually do it when they are sleeping in the night. When anyone is asleep the physical body and mind are resting and the subconscious part of the brain assumes control. Most humans simply have no recollection of this.

Astral projection allows you to visit any place you like and do anything without limitations imposed by time or space. As a child, you probably were able to do this easily every time you slept. When we age though, its common to forget how to use this ability.

For those that may not be aware of the various bodies other than the physical. Astral projection is done with the astral body. It is often referred to as the ethereal body because of both its duplication of the physical body and its lack of substance. It is in essence an invisible body. The in turn leads to the question of how is the astral body attached to the physical body. The answer is it is attached with what is often referred to as the silver cord.

The silver cord is attached from the moment that the astral body and the physical body connect. It only detaches at the moment of death when the astral and physical body permanently disconnect from each other. It is this cord that recalls the astral body to the physical body.

Are you trying to figure out where you go to when you do this astral projection? Well the astral body travels to what is called the astral plane, which turns out is the invisible duplicate of the Earth. This astral plane rapidly vibrates more than the physical Earth does and these particular vibrations go all the way to the Earth’s core. There is another belief though that another dimension or alternate reality is the meaning of astral plane. One thing most agree about on this subject though is the fact that the astral plane is composed of several layers.

After learning this information, it is only natural to start to wonder if there are any dangers to astral project. The answer is not as simple as a straightforward yes or no. While astral projection is something that everyone is capable of doing and that the astral body is attached to the physical body by a tie that can only be broken by death there is still a need to remain conscience of what is going on while astral projecting and be in a state to maintain that frame of mind.

Astral projection while you’re under the influence of drugs or alcohol can be somewhat risky. When youre not in total control of yourself, your astral body is limited to the lowest and most hazardous levels of the astral plane. If you’re not careful, there is a danger of psychological harm.

Exercise the same care you would in a place you don’t know in the physical universe. Just be aware of your surroundings and youll be fine. However, the aim of astral projection isn’t just to stay safe; it’s to practice the ability until you’re able to do it consciously and be in total control of your thoughts.

When engaging in astral projection it is important to prepare properly. Once you know how to prepare, you will find that astral projection is a quick and easy process. The method of preparation varies depending on the professional consulted. However, there are a number of, at home, training programs that provide individuals with the opportunity to learn how to control the experience and ultimately obtain both more enjoyment and benefit from astral projecting.

There are several books on this subject and you can locate other aids to help you online. One type of aid is that of hypnosis recordings that are created for astral projections to get you into the desired state of mind. This helps you get totally relaxed along with taking you through that various levels. This is often the preferred method over a professional approach, because you can replay the recording as much as you need to get your subconscious mind to get the message about when it is alright to begin to astral project and leave your physical body.

Something called binaural beats, a new audio recording technique have made it possible for many people to astral project. Two frequencies which are just slightly different are listened to, one in each year. The result is that your brainwaves tune to the proper frequency for astral projecting.

Like any ability, even those which were born with it can take some time to master astral projecting. We all have this ability naturally, but you’ll have to be patient and keep trying. You might not succeed the first few times, but if you keep trying, you’ll learn how to use this inborn capability.

Still in doubt about astral projection? How about an example from your own life? You’ve had those dreams where youre flying which end with a falling sensation right before you wake up. You werent really dreaming; the sensation of flight was what your astral body feels like as it travels. When you felt you were falling, that was your astral body returning to your physical one. Astral projection is very real and with a little work, you can learn to do it anytime you like.

Astral Projection For Beginners – Learn How To Astral Project

August 10th, 2009
by Myron Summers

It is undeniable that in these days we live at a much higher speed than in the past. Everybody rushes from one place to another, nobody cares about each other. You can see an example of this watching the most crowded streets on a certain city. Traffic is terrible, and everybody becomes angry, shouting to the car in front of them because they want to arrive a few minutes earlier to their destiny.

Our mind needs to rest and we don’t care very much about it. The way to make it work on these days is terrible and it sometimes gives signs of being tired. A great technique to let our mind rest is astral projection.

The idea behind out of body experience or astral projection is that your mind lets you travel anywhere. Lets say you are at a very hot place without air conditioning. Your mind can let you travel to a colder place and you are able to feel better.

The difficult part of astral projection is the ability to control your mind. We usually follow our conscious part, but in this case we should make our subconscious do the main work. Yoga or meditation are tools to be able to do that, but it would take a very long time to train your brain.

What prevents many people from trying to astral project is that they are afraid that something bad can happen to them if they achieve astral projection. But it is not dangerous at all.

Although astral projection can be frightening, and you may get scared as it is something knew, the is no danger associated.

What is not easy for people is to realize when they have managed to astral project. It is not easy to differentiate between lucid dreaming and astral projection, and in fact, some people think they are the same. The difference is that in astral projection you have more control and awareness.

The best way for beginners to do astral projection is with the use of binaural beats. Almost 100% of the people who try binaural beats are able to astral project and improve their lives quality.

The Best Way To Learn Astral Projection For Beginners

August 10th, 2009
by Myron Summers

Trying to drive from one place to another in almost every crowded city, you can see how we live in these days. People angry with each other, shouting because they think the car in front of them is not driving correctly. And all that for what ? To arrive 10 minutes earlier to a certain place. Everybody is nervous most part of the time, due to work, family, economic problems or whatever reason.

We don’t think about our mind. It needs to relax from time to time and we are not caring. We make our mind work and we don’t care if we receive signs that it is getting tired. Astral projection is a technique to relax our mind.

With your mind you can travel anywhere. You may be sitting in your house in a very hot summer day, but your mind can travel to a fresh place, making you feel more comfortable. That is the idea behind astral projection or as it is also known out of body experience (OOBE).

The difficult part of astral projection is the ability to control your mind. We usually follow our conscious part, but in this case we should make our subconscious do the main work. Yoga or meditation are tools to be able to do that, but it would take a very long time to train your brain.

In addition, many people are afraid of astral projection and want to be sure nothing bad will happen to them before they start trying to astral project. In most of the forums on the internet about this topic, the most frequently asked question is if astral projection can be dangerous.

Although astral projection can be frightening, and you may get scared as it is something knew, the is no danger associated.

There are certain experts that think astral projection and lucid dreaming are the same and that causes that people don’t realize easily when they achieve astral projection. The difference is that in astral projection your conscious mind takes control, and that does not happen in lucid dreaming.

Binaural beats are the solution if you are a beginner and want to astral project. There is a very high probability of success if you use them, and you will do it without needing a very long training time.

New Lucid Dream Tricks: The “Stop, Drop & Roll” Sleep Command To Fall Asleep Fast

June 18th, 2009
by Nick Newport

Here in Lucidology 101 part 3 you’re about to find out use the “stop, drop & roll” sleep command to fall asleep quickly by making your body ask to fall asleep & then giving it the “yes” command to tell it to fall asleep.

In the last section we found that sleep paralysis is most likely when you wake up and fall asleep again without moving at all. So to do that you need a way to fall asleep quickly and reliably. The question is, how do you do that?

Mind Body Independence

The key is in the principle of “mind-body independence”. Mind-body independence means that your mind and body never know precisely what the other is doing. For instance, your body is growing hair, transcribing DNA, digesting food, making blood cells and regenerating tissue. Your mind is mostly unaware of all these. If you had to think about each one you’d never get anything else done. This is mind-body independence.

Mind-body independence also works the other way. When you mind falls asleep your body never really knows completely for sure what happened and if your mind is really asleep or not. So how does your body know when to enter sleep paralysis?

The key is that even though the mind and body act independently, they still communicate using a language. By learning the words in this language you can talk to your body biologically and make it fall asleep when you want it to.

Your First Word In This Language

Your first word in this language is called the “roll over signal”. When your body has been very still and relaxed for a long period, your body starts to wonder if maybe your mind has fallen asleep. It would be a very serious mistake if the body went to sleep too early, so the body sends a test signal to the mind. This test signal feels like a strong urge to roll over.

The Roll Over Signal

If the mind is asleep, then mind does not respond and the body decides that the mind really is asleep and shuts down. If the mind does respond to the roll over signal and you move, then the body knows the mind is still awake and does not fall asleep. So this a major mistake that you need to avoid: Never respond to the body’s roll over signal because it sends a message to stay awake rather than fall asleep. This can be difficult because the signal can become so strong that it’s excruciatingly painful.

You can visualize the way this works with the two dotted arrows on this chart: As you become more relaxed, the blue dotted line gets lower and lower. At the same time, the red dotted line represents the strength of the roll over signal that the body sends out which grows and grows. When these two lines meet the body decides to enter sleep paralysis and shuts down.

So the question is: what can you do improve this?

The 4 Types Of Roll Over Signals

There are four types of roll over signals you’ll encounter.

Fast Relax

1.) The first type is the ‘fast relax’ case. This happens when you relax quickly and deeply and the body decides to just go ahead and paralyze without sending much of a roll over signal, if any. This is a good case to have because it happens quickly.

Slow Relax

2.) The second type is the opposite case. If you’re tense but stay still long enough and if the body is tired enough, the roll over signal builds and builds until it becomes very painful and extremely hard to ignore. However, if you’re too tense the body won’t paralyze no matter how long you’ve been still. This is called a “signal swell”.

Urge Surge

3.) The third type is called an “urge surge” which is a very useful case. In an urge surge, the body sends out a strong signal out of nowhere. If you’re able to resist the signal for three or four seconds the body ends the surge and paralyses all at once. If you’re not relaxed enough, this will probably result in only partial sleep paralysis which is not ideal. We’ll cover ways to transform partial sleep paralysis into a successful exit in Lucidology 102.

The Quick Switch Roll Signal

Finally forth type of roll signal is called a “Quick Switch”.

4.) If sleep paralysis is the holy grail for new OBEers, the quick switch signal is the holy grail of urge surges. It happens quickly and rewards you with nice and deep sleep paralysis almost instantly. It’s also a very unmistakable feeling which is extremely useful because it lets you know what’s going on.

The Two Cases That Cause A Quick Switch Signal

This usually happens in one of two cases:

First: when the body is really tired and wants to go to sleep right now

Second: when the body was very recently asleep and is deeply relaxed.

In order to make those cases more likely you need a way to bring on the roll signal as fast as possible.

So how do you do that? The trick is to use the right body position.

Body Position Is Key

The body position that brings it on the roll signal faster than any other position is to simply lay flat on your back with your arms at your side. When you lay with your arms at your side you will probably tempted to place your hands on your stomach or cross your ankles. This is a veiled form of the roll over signal. If you get that sensation it means you’re on the right track, just make sure not to give in. Keep your arms at your side and your ankles slightly separated.

Using this simple bit of information we can eradicate the single biggest cause of insomnia: the toss and turn syndrome.

The Tossing And Turning Syndrome: Big Time Cause Of Insomnia

When you toss and turn in bed, what you’re doing is resetting your body’s internal sleep timer each time you roll over. The body is trying to go to sleep by sending you a roll-over test signal but you keep telling it not to sleep when you move. So you end up stuck in a toss and turn loop and never get to sleep. This results in insomnia.

So you may be thinking is that it?? You just lay there? Not quite There are a few things you can do actively to speed things up and tell your body to fall asleep.

3 Body Positions

What we do is add body positions before and after the hands-at-your-side position. The first position is to lay with your hands above your head. The final position is where you roll over and then fall asleep in that position.

We choose these positions very carefully so that when you move from one step to the next you release the maximum amount of tension possible.

“Stop, Drop And Roll” Releases Tension In Chunks

This way instead of haphazardly releasing small amounts of tension by tossing and turning over and over, you release it in a exactly two calculated big chunks and get it over with all at once:

Make The Body Ask To Sleep Then Tell It “Yes”

Here’s what is happening at each step.

1.) “Stop” – The Relax Step: In this step you have your arms above your head and relax as deeply as you can. Once you feel you’ve relaxed as far as you can, “drop” your arms down to your side which releases all the shoulder tension that you couldn’t get rid of from just laying there. This is the purpose of the first body position – to get rid of shoulder tension all at once.

2.) “Drop” – The Ask Step: When you drop your arms down to your side and relax the body will seriously start to consider that maybe the mind is asking it to go to sleep. This position will make you want to roll over which is what you want. The stronger the roll over signal, the more the body is asking for permission to sleep. If you get to a point where it feels like it’s plateaued, slowly roll over which puts you in step 3.

3.) “Roll” – The Yes Step: In this step you tell the body, “yes it’s time to sleep.” Simply roll over and then don’t move until you’re asleep. Your goal is to not move again the rest of the night.

Roll Over Signal Changes Depending On Your Position

The sneaky thing is that the roll over signal changes based on how you’re laying and that may trick you into moving. The roll over signal when you’re on your back tends to center in your chest. However the roll over signal when you’re on your side tends to make you want to move your legs. Don’t fall for that! Don’t bend them or straighten them or anything. Keep your legs perfectly still. The urge to move your legs is actually a disguised form of the roll over signal and you must resist it at all costs!

Best Body Position For Healthy Sleep

Here’s the best final body position that’s the healthiest for your back according to researchers at the University of Cleveland. You want to lay on your side so your neck and spine are neutral and relaxed Bend your hips and knees a bit to lower pressure on your spine To relieve sciatic nerve strain, put a pillow between your kneeson Sleeping on your stomach is not recommended because it puts your back in an odd position

Bonus Secret To Build Up Roll Signal

We have one last very powerful trick in reserve that you can use when you have a really hard time falling asleep.

The key is to build up a super strong roll over signal before even getting into bed. Rather than trying to fall asleep in your bed, lay down on the floor next to your bed on your back and relax.

This is unpleasant and after forcing yourself to lay there perfectly still for 10 or 15 minutes, when you finally allow yourself back into bed your body will be so grateful that it will grab the chance to fall asleep as quickly as it can.

In extreme cases you can even lay on an uncarpeted floor such as in your kitchen which will build up the roll signal very quickly.

In the next section we’ll cover 5 more powerful sleep commands you can use to trick your body to fall asleep while you keep your mind awake to have O.B.E.s.

Exit Blindness – 3 Fast Solutions When You Can’t See In An O.B.E Or Lucid Dream

June 15th, 2009
by Nick Newport

A lot of times when you enter an O.B.E you’ll find that you can’t see. This is called exit blindness. Here in part 9 we’ll cover the 3 simplest and quickest solutions to exit blindness to recover your sight as fast as possible.

The 3 Main Exit Blindness Causes

Exit blindness is due to three main reasons:

1.) First, that your eyes have been sealed shut by some kind of nonphysical glue.

2.) Second that you don’t have enough energy to open your nonphysical eyes.

3.) Third you don’t have energy to power your nonphysical eyes.

Eye Glue Causes Exit Blindness

The first problem is that in the O.B.E your eyes sometimes start out with some kind of glue that’s holding your eyelids together. Strange as it may seem this is a recurring effect that many people have reported and that I have experienced many times.

Use ‘eye Pry’ To Open Your Eyes

The quickest solution to glued eyelids is to use your nonphysical hands to pry your eyelids open. This is called the ‘eye pry’ method. Sometimes the glue is very strong and it can actually be painful to pull them open. The glue can also have a kind of magnetic effect so that once you have your eyes open the glue pulls them back together. You have to keep on top of things and keep pulling your eyes open in order to keep your sight turned on. You can also use eye pry in the 2nd case where you have enough energy to power your eyes but not enough to open your eyelids.

3 Solutions To Blindness From Low Energy

In the 3rd case where you don’t even have enough energy to power your eyes there are 3 main solutions. These are:

1.) Deep breathing

2.) Improving your mood

3.) mental projections.

Use Deep Breathing To Brighten The O.B.E

The first solution is to use deep breathing to power your nonphysical body. This solution is not a cure all but it can definitely improve your sight and make things brighter. You need to be careful with this method because it can cause your physical body to wake up.

Recall that one way to break paralysis is to simply change your breathing so your body notices you’re awake. While that does break paralysis, there is also a middle ground where you can breathe deeply to power your nonphysical body but also not breathe so deeply so that your body notices the difference. The only way to know what that feels like is to practice by entering sleep paralysis and seeing how much you can deep breathe without breaking the paralysis.

Improve Your Mood To See

The second main solution is to improve your mood in the O.B.E. Your mood often determines how bright and clear your O.B.E will be. By putting yourself in a very positive frame of mind you can largely avoid dark O.B.E.s and you may never have a problem with blindness in the first place. However this solution isn’t 100% effective and isn’t very useful if you’re trying to recover sight in a lucid nightmare.

Mental Projections

The third solution is what’s called a mental projection. This is an advanced technique that relies heavily on visualizations. However it’s also extremely powerful and this is actually what I rely on most because it is 100% effective to cure exit blindness. This is because in a mental projection you’re able to see without seeing and so exit blindness is not a factor.

A lot of times when I enter an O.B.E I won’t even bother to get my eyes working and I’ll just enter a mental projection which gives you all the sensory information you need but without actually seeing anything at all. Lucidology 101 is all about visualization-free techniques. However Lucidology 102 is all about how to use visualizations to dramatically accelerate your O.B.E progress. In Lucidology 102 I’ll show you exactly how to do mental projections make exit blindness a non-issue.

Up next in part 10 you’ll find out why everything you’ve read about O.B.E vibrations in books is wrong and you’ll find out the 3 easiest ways to tell how close you are to an O.B.E.

How To Take The Red Pill: The 4 Easiest Movement-Free Reality Checks For Lucid Dreams

June 13th, 2009
by Nick Newport

In a lot of O.B.E.s it’s really hard to tell what’s going on and whether you’re in an O.B.E or not. Here in Lucidology 101 part 8 you’re about to find out the 4 easiest ways to take the red pill so you know if you’ve shifted into an O.B.E or not.

O.B.E.s Can Be Much More Hyper-detailed Than Waking Awareness

Lucid dreams and O.B.E.s can be extremely realistic. In fact, a lot of times it’s very hard to tell if you’re actually awake or if you’re dreaming.

In fact, sometimes they are actually more realistic than waking awareness. Sometimes after an O.B.E you’ll find that your physical sight is actually hazy and dream-like compared to the hyper detailed realism of the O.B.E.

High Dynamic Range Visuals In O.B.Es

For example, a lot of times your vision will have what photographers called “High Dynamic Range” or HDR. HDR means that there’s a higher range between the bright areas and the dark areas. HDR is anything but dream-like and you may not think at first that you’re actually in an O.B.E because your sight has so much detail. Your sight may also seem like it has a lot more pixels than you have when physically aware. In fact, these O.B.E.s should be called “high bandwidth experiences” because of all the extra sensory information you take in

First Awake/asleep Cycle Is Usually Kind Of Sloppy

This effect is compounded when you use the timer method we covered in Lucidology 101 part 7. Remember that the hypnotic fractionation effect causes you to hover on the awake asleep threshold when you enter and exit trance over and over. The first couple times you wake up and fall asleep, it’s relatively easy to tell if you’re nonphysical or physical because it’s kind of a sloppy cycle and you swing wildly around between being awake and asleep.

The Next Awake/asleep Cycle Is Tighter

However as the hypnotic fractionation effect kicks in, the cycles start to get tighter and tighter.

Eventually You’re Alternating Very Tightly

The O.B.E.s start to become more and more realistic. Eventually it can be very difficult to tell if you’re waking up into your physical bedroom or if you’re in an O.B.E.

False Awakening Loops

This is called a false-awakening loop in which you think you wake up but end up in an O.B.E. You wake up again and end up in another O.B.E. It may take a couple tries before you really do wake up in your physical bedroom again.

False Awakening Loops From Spiraling Off-center

This is because you’ve started spirally off center toward a nonphysical focus. What you need is a way to know that you’re in an O.B.E and wake up for real.

How To Deal With The False-awakening Loop?

Basically you need a way to take the red pill. This is called a reality check. And not just any reality check will do, you need a movement-free reality check so that you can do it without disturbing your trance.

You Need Multiple Reality Checks

In fact you need a set of reality checks because there is no single silver bullet reality check which is 100% reliable.

The 4 Easiest Movement-free Reality Checks

Here are the 4 most effective, most reliable and easiest reality tests that you can start using immediately. I have tested each of these many times to see how well they work and what pitfalls to watch for. These are:

1.) The blindfold test

2.) Transparent eyelids

3.) Overlaid sight

4.) The spoon bending test

The Blindfold Reality Check: The Simplest Reality Check

First is the blindfold reality check. This is easiest reality check of all.

All you do is put on a blindfold and relax into sleep. If at any time you find that you can see the room through the blindfold then you know you’re in a subconscious dream environment and you’re looking at the dream version of your room.

The advantages are that it’s simple and requires no practice Secondly, once it works, there’s no doubt in your mind that it really did work. Also, it’s an ongoing reality check. It’s not something that comes and goes in an instant.

Secret System For Free O.B.E.s That Require No Work

So here’s way you can use the blindfold test for free O.B.E.s that require exactly zero work. The fact is you probably are already having many spontaneous morning O.B.E.s but don’t realize they’re O.B.E.s because you don’t have a system to catch these when they happen. All you need to do is get in the habit of sleeping with a blindfold on. Whenever you wake up and are able to see, you’ll have just gotten a free O.B.E without doing any extra work!

Blindfold Reality Check: Disadvantages

As good as the blindfold test is, it does have its disadvantages For instance you may find the blindfold is distracting and that it’s hard to relax with it on. If you try this method I do recommend getting a padded blindfold in the $20 to $30 range because I find the cheap ones are too uncomfortable to be of any real use.

The second disadvantage is exit blindness. Exit blindness happens a lot especially for new OBEers. When this happens you enter the dream and find that you are blind and so you can’t see with or without the blindfold.

Dream blindness happens a lot and there are solutions to it that we’ll cover later. However, all of these solutions require that you be lucid in the dream so it won’t help if you’re trying to use sight as a reality check.

Transparent Eyelids

One solution is to use the transparent eyelids effect. Transparent eyelids means that you see through your closed eyes into the nonphysical version of your bedroom.

This has the advantage of not wearing a distracting blindfold.

The disadvantage with the transparent eyelids effect is it’s difficult to feel whether your eyelids are really open or closed.

So the way the transparent eyelids check often works is that it’s after the fact. You first become lucid, then you notice you can see, and then you open your physical eyes and wake your physical body up.

Another scenario is that you open your eyes twice without closing them in between. You open them in the O.B.E and then open them again when you wake up physically.

In either case you may not know if you were nonphysically focused until it’s too late and you’re already physical again. So it’s very useful to have a check that works immediately as soon as you have a nonphysical focus.

Overlaid Sight Reality Check

The third reality check to watch for is overlaid sight which happens as soon as you’re nonphysical. When you’re nearing a nonphysical focus you’ll start to split your awareness between your waking surroundings and the dream version of your bedroom. Often you’ll see your nonphysical surroundings from a slightly different angle than your physical surroundings. This makes it look like you have two sets of sight overlaid on top of each other, like two movie projections.

Overlaid sight doesn’t last very long, usually you’ll see your vision flicker back and forth and then stabilize. It’s also rare to achieve overlaid sight because most of the time when you do O.B.E.s your eyes will be closed. Because of this you need a longer lasting check which brings us to the 4th movement free reality check called the “spoon bending” check.

Spoon Bending Reality Check

This brings us to the 4th movement free reality check which helps fix this. This reality check is the spoon bending check.

To do it, just fall asleep with a spoon in your hand.

When you think you might be in an O.B.E, squeeze the spoon and see if it bends.

As long as you don’t move any other part of your body, you can move your fingers slowly and slightly and not disturb your trance. So even though you are moving a little bit this still counts as a movement-free reality check

Kat Black And Waking Awareness Spoon Bending

Kat Black of fork-you.com seems to be able to soften metal in ways that should be impossible.

For example, bending the bowl of a spoon should require more force than a human can physically generate, but she can apparently do it.

On her site she has a tutorial and videos on how she bends metal, I suggest you go check it out. Even if you can’t bend metal physically like she can, it’s still good to see what it’s like for when you do it in an O.B.E.

What Spoon Bending In An O.B.E. Is Like

Here’s what it will be like when you bend a spoon in an O.B.E. The metal will be extremely easy to bend. It’s about like bending a wire twist tie. When you wake up, the spoon will be back to normal

In this section we mentioned exit blindness and how very often in O.B.E.s when you first enter a nonphysical awareness you’ll find that you can’t see. In the next section we’ll cover the most effective and simple ways for fixing exit blindness so you can make the most of each O.B.E.
