March 17th, 2010

Everyone wants to look back on their wedding day with fond memories. Your wedding day is one of the most monumental days of their life, and one that you would want to enjoy in style. One aspect of the day which is often over looked is the wedding transport.

But should I hire a classic wedding car? The answer to this question begins by defining a classic car, the classic car is a wedding car favourite and the phrase ‘classic car’ is any motor car no longer in production, manufactured between the 1950s and the 1970s that were highly-priced when new, have marque loyalty, and still very popular today. These vehicles were built in small quantities with custom coachwork and luxury accessories, they have character, great charm and style. Their workmanship is of the highest quality which usually means they have a nicer more comfortable ride.

Classic wedding car hire comes in various styles and can be a great photo opportunity for your wedding album and video as well for your guests photos. Some guests may wait outside the church to see you arrive, and then everybody will see you and your groom leave for, and arrive at your reception. So you want your wedding transport to be something special and maybe tie in with your wedding theme or venue.

Classic cars are a favourite choice of bridal car and selecting the right wedding transport is largely a matter of personal choice. There are a large number of alternative vehicles available from a Daimler Limousine, which is a vehicle with a glass partition behind the driver, to the traditional classic chauffeur driven saloons such as a 1970s Rolls Royce Silver Shadow. These are splendidly grand and spacious wedding cars, expensive to buy and maintain, they are usually more expensive to hire than modern vehicles, but are glorious wedding vehicles.

No matter which bridal car model is decided on for the wedding day, make sure your wedding car will stand out from the crowd, because this is the day when you want to be noticed by everyone. Consider using the wedding car in a few of the wedding photos to make the experience last a life time. With such a wide wedding car selection, it is important to decide on the wedding car type that best suits your needs and wishes.

With this information you can start looking for a wedding car company with these types of cars, many wedding car websites have pictures of the their cars and offer advise on the limitations of distance and seating capacity etc. The more detailed the information you provide when contacting them, the more accurate the quotation that is offered.

It is always recommended to arrange to view older cars to check the cars condition before booking, and reputable companies will always agree to this. It will also identify whether the company is an agent or the actual wedding car owner.

Gas Mileage Ratings Have Gotten Better Over The Years

December 22nd, 2009

Seriously, do you remember what you did the first time you drove by the gas station and saw that it said $4 for a gallon of gas? I know I started to search for the closest public transportation. But really, it did make me think about fuel for the first time in my life.

These gas prices have made people look into hybrids and alternative fuel vehicles in record numbers. But, you really don’t have to run out and buy a new car. There are some things you can do with the car you already have to improve gas mileage.

#1 On a regular bases, change the air filter — Your car has an internal combustion engine. That means the fuel mixed with air is what makes the engine work. If your air filter is clogged up you could be losing up to 10% of your fuel efficiency. Change the air filter a couple times a year. It is actually very easy and very inexpensive. It is seriously something you can do yourself, usually for under $10.

#2 Drive correctly — This is a simple one, yet nobody ever thinks about it. Most people keep their foot on the gas pedal and brake pedal longer than they should. You don’t need to gun it and you don’t need to wait until the last minute to brake. Try it. And you may see between 5-10% better fuel efficiency.

#3 Drive the speed limit on the highway — Driving at the posted speed limit my not be fun and exciting but, it will definitely help with your fuel consumption. Use the cruise control when possible. The more consistent you keep your speed the less gas you will use.

#4 You have got to get to your mechanic — Your car will flat out last longer if you get the scheduled services. Not only that, it will be as fuel efficient as it possible can, so do yourself a favor and see your local mechanic a couple of times a year. I can hear you groaning now.

#5 Turn off the Air Conditioner — While many newer cars have air conditioners that will recycle airs automatically through the cabins when it reaches a certain temperature, older vehicles will just continue pumping it out, wasting energy and fuel. If you can do with out it, do with out it.

These are easy things to do. Doing all or just a handful could greatly increase the money you keep in your pocket.

Why Opt a Luxury Car Rental?

December 15th, 2009

A luxury car is be very costly to purchase and yet, when we see one going down the street; we sometimes wish we could drive one even if only for a day or two.

Imagining ourselves getting out of the Hummer or a Bentley can already give us quite an exhilarating feeling; what more if we are really driving one?

With a luxury car rental, we can become a reality. We don’t have to have be a special event after all, before we get a luxury car rental. Simply driving down the road in one for the fun of it, is a good enough reason to rent one for a day; or couple of days even.

RENTING A LUXURY CAR ONLINE

Wherever we are around the world, we can get hold of a luxury car rental of our choice anytime we want to.

Online, we can see a wide selection of car rental websites that provide luxury cars to anywhere in the globe. Any make or model that we want, these sites can supply them for us. But, lest we get overly excited about getting our luxury car rental, we should first check out a number of providers so we can get the best offer that will suit our budget.

We will find that renting a luxury car online has many benefits aside from not having to leave the comforts of our homes in order to hire this kind of car. Firstly, rental car costs are relatively cheaper online than in actual car rental agencies.

One other advantage of renting on the internet is that the vehicle may be delivered to anywhere we are located or at the closest pick-up point instead of going to the rental office which can be too much of a hassle particularly if we are hiring a car in a foreign place.

THINGS TO CONSIDER WITH LUXURY CAR RENTALS

There are a few things that we have to check when hiring cars, especially luxury cars. First of all, the type of insurance coverage should we get together with our car rental. Since we will be responsible for the car during the period that we are using it, we have to make sure that should anything untoward happen, we won’t have to recompense for anything.

B. H. loves cars and motorcycles. When he is not spending time with the hottest motorcycles in this part of the world, he discuss luxury car rental and other interesting subjects on his site.

Dependable Car Shipping

December 2nd, 2009

Shipping the car across large distances is in most cases the most sensible and economic solution, saving effort, time, and car wear. There is shipment across roads by several types of carrier trucks, shipment by sea, and shipment by air of any type of car or motorcycle, whether modern, prestige, vintage, veteran, classic or sports.

Auto shipping is a term that normally implies a car will be shipped to its destination in a timely and secure manner, not shipped gradually or in parts. Most people think if a company has a promising slogan such as “You Can Depend on Us,” that you can, indeed trust them. This is folly. The company may in no way live up to its name, it’s just a bunch of words that sound ideal but really mean nothing. What does mean something to you is the experience and track record of the company.

Keep in mind, also that most auto shipping companies are small, independent operations distributed over most large countries by the thousands. They probably own just a few trucks.

The most basic factors of time and money should be your first consideration when looking for a dependable shipping company. If you give the shipper a flexible timeline, the price will be less than if make a specific time demand, and you will have a better chance at dependability of performance. Prices go up the more you are pressed for time.

The deal is generally set up with either a broker or a single carrier itself. You will find that some enterprising shipping company’s now act as their own brokers. This being true, make sure that you know that you are dealing with the carrier that also brokers for himself and not a carrier that brokers it out to some unknown company..

Do not sign contracts without having seen a valid MC license and always ask to see a copy of their Insurance Certificate and contact their insurance company to find out the exact terms of their insurance. Reputable companies will be glad to oblige a vigilant client, demonstrating their reliability, and will always be comfortably ensured several years ahead. You don’t want to trust the car you worked so hard for to a company whose insurance policy ends next moth without a guarantee that they will be insured or even in existence as an official firm at the time of transportation.

Looking companies up is always a good idea. Better not to be involved with companies which are not listed anywhere or unwillingly offer basic info about themselves. Check the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration to verify they are indeed a carrier and not a covert broker-carrier.

Doing the same via a professional broker may be even a better idea: it is the broker’s job to dig up any vital background information on even the most reticent carriers; and once you have that information your suspicions will be either justified or officially disproved, so that you may proceed more safely.

The IRS would be responsible for making sure everyone has health insurance, and taxing those who are lacking insurance.

Accidents cannot always be your fault. However, one of the factors which an insurance company will look will be a good driving history. Accidents happen a lot, particularly in cities with a high amount of traffic; often, if people don’t know all the rules of that particular city, or are visiting, they can get in trouble. It doesn’t help matters that many are tourists who aren’t used to driving there and don’t know the roads.

Protecting Your Car With A Car Cover

October 13th, 2009
by Greg Tomlinson

If you are often away from your house for periods of time, one of your worries is often the care and shelter of your car while you are away. Unless it’s garaged, it is subject to harmful rays from the sun, bug splatter, bird droppings, falling branches, nicks, scrapes, and more. When you return from your trip you may find your car has suffered irreparable damage. You can prevent problems in the first place by fitting a custom fit car cover to guard your investment. Before you make you purchase, you should realize that not all car covers are the same – following are some things for you to take into consideration:

Car covers are essentially all the same, right? Definitely not! There are car covers which are anything from what is basically a loose fitting tarp to those like the BMW car cover which are custom designed for the particular make and model of the car. The loose fitting covers can let in and trap damaging moisture and debris and do not block damaging UV rays effectively. They can actually cause more problems that they prevent.

When looking for a car cover think what it does other than cover your car.

Consider these following features:

UV rays are extremely harmful to your cars finish, so consider whether it provides adequate shelter? You definitely need a car cover that provides the greatest shelter possible against the suns rays, especially if you live in an area, like Florida, where the UV rays are particularly intense.

You also need a car cover made from an extremely tough material that won’t rip or tear when exposed to extreme weather conditions, such as snow and ice.

You need to make sure that it will repel rain and moisture.

Ask yourself if the car cover your are considering will be able to endure the intense heat and extreme cold.

Will it be resistant to dust as some car covers prevent even the finest dust from accumulating.

Are there extra layers in the cover that protect against scratches and dings? This is vital if you leave behind your car in a public lot!

Other factors to look at are warranty periods and color.

Some car covers can easily be cleaned yourself. Those made of super weave fabric can actually be placed in a washing machine and washed using cold to hot water, regular laundry detergent, without bleach, and dried on your dryer’s permanent press cycle. Always make sure you follow the manufacturers guidelines on washing.

Looking to Buy Used Cars?

October 7th, 2009
by Geoff McKay

Some people think that buying a used car is a lot of hassle. They think that their money would be better spent on a brand new car, one they can be certain of its history. However, what they fail to realize is even with a new car, there is the probability of existing problems. The trick is not to purchase a new car simply to avoid difficulty, but to do some research to get a perfect purchase experience regardless of your choice.

Something you should always remember when looking to buy used cars is to never trust what the seller says. If you are buying from a dealer, demand a vehicle history report. Do NOT always trust the car title. Occasionally during transport, the details of a car are changed. If you only go by the information given, you run the risk of paying for a car that was once listed as “totalled” in another location and time. This was the issue for many cars that were sold during post-Hurricane Katrina. Many flooded cars drifted their way north and were cleaned up and sold with a clean slate. All whilst corrosion was slowly destroying the car on the inside. This is not to say that all used car dealers are thieves, but their main goal is to make a living and they may not be as thorough as you want them to be concerning a “new” car.

Before you spend your hard earned cash on used cars, become acquainted with the “lemon” laws in your country or state. Lemon laws are designed for the reselling of cars. They declare that if a purchased car fails an inspection within a certain amount of time, you are fully entitled to a refund. These laws were created to protect the consumer, but you can’t utilize them properly if you are not aware of their advantages or purchase a vehicle “as-is”.

Another important thing to bear in mind is that the person selling the car might not be the actual owner. When you buy a used car from an individual, be sure to check the registration details of the vehicle before you make any commitments. The last thing you want is to find out that you bought a car which has a list of liens against it. The problem can be avoided by going to a respectable dealership.

Whether buying new cars or used cars, remember that “you get what you pay for.” While you should always look for a great deal, don’t jump at the cheapest price. Check the mileage and the age of the car against that car’s make and model. If it’s too old or has too many miles, pass it by. It makes a lot more sense to try to bargain down on a reliable car than to purchase a cheaper one that will fail when you really need it to function. The internet is a great place to search for information and even more buying dos and don’ts. Use it.

Cars Repo – Buying At Governement Auctions

October 6th, 2009
by Steve Brodie

Government auctions of repossessed cars, trucks, SUVs etc are a much cheaper way to buy used vehicles. The reason is because vehicles at these auctions are put up for sale at 40 to 70% off their original asking price!

Vehicles that the government acquires come from people that are supposedly involved in criminal cases or simply have bought their property through bad money. When the cars are first repossessed a public garage houses them until the cases have been settled. If the case does not settle in the previous owners favor, it cannot be reclaimed and the vehicle goes to auction.

Mainly the government turns them over to private auction houses to sell the vehicles for them. Members of the public then have the right to purchase these cars at very discounted prices.

Now its finding all of the auctions that can be the tricky bit. The police will not simply give you a list of all the places of the seized cars. When trying to locate these seized cars yourself and not use an online searching guide, whats required is visits to the auction houses and research.

You can use your yellow pages to find numbers of all the auction houses as unfortunately they do not usually advertise the seized vehicle sales. To find out which ones handle seized vehicles check with them when you are speaking with them on the phone.

Once you find out which ones do, take the time to visit their office.

At their office look through the listings of government auctions of the repossessed cars. That way you can shorten the list to the vehicles that you are wanting to take a look at. Youll want to get the most information out of your visit.

This will include asking what documents you will need to present. And other specifics like the amount of money you would need to have on you if you did win any bids as well as any dates and times of future auctions. If theres time for you to attend as an observer only, try going.

Being a spectator before trying the bidding process gives you a good start to how everything works.

Finally, restraint is a good thing to practice. Auctions especially can have a highly competitive mood, creating a lot of adrenaline within participants. Dont let the fever take you, if the price goes above your budget stop there, you can always bid on another vehicle!

Theres a link to a guide at our site which can give you current lists of dates and times of all auctions of seized vehicles across the US.

The auctions available are both online and offline.
