There is no limit to the ways you can find out the identity of someone who has called your phone. You can just do it and find out for yourself who called, instead of wondering. Start by doing a search for the number on the internet. You may get lucky and find out just what you wanted to know.

Doing one of these very popular searches is as easy as typing on your computer or using the internet. You can start by plugging the subject number into your favorite search engine. You will be surprised at what you find out just by doing this. You will need the entire ten digit number to do a successful search.

You could get real lucky when putting the number into your search engine, you may find an address, name and even an email address associated with the number. This is highly unlikely though since most of the time you will need to pay for this information. The information that you get for free will most likely include the state in which the number originated and perhaps whether it is a cell phone or landline number.

To continue your search, plug the number into as many free telephone search sites as possible. The more you plug them into the better the chances are that you will find the information that you need. Some of the databases are updated more often than others, so it pays to be persistant in your search.

You are probably not going to get all the information you need from a free people search site. You will most likely need to shell over some money to get the results you need. It is usually not that expensive to get a paid result from what you are looking for. The key is to be persistant in your search and not give up.

Free Phone Lookup Sites

May 27th, 2009
by Hekktor Nasintino

So someone has called you and you do not recognize the number? You have a cell phone so the name does not show up on your caller id, as is the case with most cell phones, unless the number is stored in your contact list. Because of the rise in use of cell phones, people have turned to reverse telephone directories to find the information they need.

If you type the number you are looking for into the search engine, you will have a lot of websites pop up, some will charge for the information and some will not. Which ones are better and why? Are the ones that are free really free and do not charge?

Free reverse telephone lookups are really free. They do not charge for the information. One of the biggest problems with the free sites is that the information is not always up to date, so you are not getting fresh information when you type in the number. Also, a lot of times the site will only give you the area, such as the city and state where the number is located. They will not give you the actual address of the telephone number. Yes you can do a search for cell and unlisted numbers, you just may not get the best information that is available.

It is easy to understand why free reverse telephone search directories do not keep their databases up to date. It is very expensive to update databases, and it needs to be done every three months, so it can get very expensive very quickly. Paid search engines can afford to keep their databases updated, that is why they collect a fee when you use them.

Put your own number, even if it is unlisted or a cellular number, and see what pops up. This will give you a good idea of what kind or how reliable the information is. If you decide to use a paid version, type it in there as well, you may be surprised on what you find out.
