Find Out If You Are Suitable For Last-Minute Deals

August 10th, 2009
by Sandra Mario Cuso

Last-minute deals, whether in flight, accommodation, or any package take some compromise and allowances. You can get different airline, different hotel, and different service from your original plan. The price is surely cheaper, but for those who are with different priority that might not mean much. So it is everyones choice. Read below if you are suitable for getting last-minute-deals. Check if you match the characteristics described.

1. An opportunist. Being an opportunist in traveling means you dont mind to go to every available choice. It might be a wild adventure, a culture travel, a religious tour, a romantic night, a shopping city, whatever. You will go as long as you get cheap price or opportunity. You will see many different places and meet new things. You eat everywhere it is cheap, you do every interesting but inexpensive thing, meet and know every friendly people you see, and so many. The chances are widely open. Well, if you are a kind of opportunist (no necessarily a true opportunist), getting a last-minute deal is surely what youre waiting for.

2. A frugal spender. Being a frugal spender can mean you watch the money you spend carefully, you use money wisely, and you try to find the best bargain for almost everything. It doesnt mean you are stingy, but you want to utilize your money in best ways. It is smart, as smart as getting a last-minute deal when it comes to traveling. You would love the deal.

3. A detail planner. If you plan things in detail, schedule every activity during your trip, and dont like surprises, then last-minute deal might not make you interested. The discounted price may require you to change your plan, if there is change in flight schedule and accommodation. Last-minute deal can ruin your perfect vacation, everything else might be messy and you will not feel good about that. Moreover, there is uncertainty since the beginning.

4. A perfect traveler. If you care a lot for quality, service, and comfort, then you might re-think to take lower price offered by last-minute deal. As you hear that there can be differences, you will no longer be curious. You are not cheered by price discount. What you look for is a really comfortable vacation, no matter if it charges more. So there is no use to look at the best deals, they will eventually disappoint your dream.

Get The Best Deal In Last Minutes

August 9th, 2009
by Adam Nicholas

Traveling is not cheap, you know. It depends on your destination, but you will always have to set budgets for transportation, accommodation, meals, and souvenirs. More spare money means more leisure. This is what you can get by hunting for last-minute trip. It can be last-minute airplane ticket, last-minute accommodation package, last-minute tour package, or in other kinds. Since they are last minutes, the prices are usually offered at much lower. You are dealing well by taking the offer. Getting last-minute deals are however tricky because there are uncertainties that there will be any. You would need some strategies for finding last-minute deal.

The followed ones might be your guide. 1. Determine what you want in specific. The country or city you want to visit, places you want to see, how long you will stay, and the budget you have.

2. See what you can find at travel agencies. You can search online to find the benchmark price of airline fares and accommodations. Make some calculations and estimation as you need to compare to your budget.

3. Search for packages that combine both airfare and accommodation (or more) at cheaper price than the combined benchmark prices. Compare from site to site. You might need some time until finding the one that matches your destination and budget. You can save more by being flexible with flight schedule and accommodation. If possible, choose the cheapest available for any date/weekend.

4. Check both value and price. Its important to value the overall packages for best deal. Sometimes you just have to pay a little more for more facilities. Also check for reviews in sites, they might give you better consideration and affect your choice.

5. Monitor last-minutes airfares at online database. You can find this at some sites, they update the database based on cancelled packages/orders. The more common your flight routes/destination, the chance to get last-minute deal is better. Its actually not only for airfares. You can also get last-minute deal on accommodation by hunting at online database sites.

6. If youre really flexible, you can take risk by booking with sites who offer low prices. You just to provide credit card information in advanced before knowing the airline and itinerary. Later, you have to go for whatever available at cheap prices, no refundable. This can be fun and challenging anyway. You are just taking what is available for you.

So, ready for cheaper traveling?

Why Consider Last-Minute Deal?

August 9th, 2009
by Camilo Beatriz

If you are a frequent flier, you must know that airfare you pay represents a big cost. There are special offers at times, but the seats are limited and there are usually date range for booking and flight schedule. If you haven’t made a fix plan, surely this will not make any use. Sometimes there are special offers or programs from your phone card, credit card, or other membership. They are good ways to get a cheaper ticket, if you have any and the flight schedule is matched.

Well, there is now a popular way to get low-priced ticket. That is by buying tickets sold at last minutes before their scheduled departure. In last minutes, airlines companies and travel agencies are unlikely to find potential customers to buy their vacant seats. Therefore, lowering the ticket price is the only solution they have. Lower price will make it easier to find buyers, included you. Last-minute deals are haven for cheap ticket prices, though you might have sudden change in flight schedule you have planed before. So don’t you try looking for them? Here are some things you have to consider about last-minute ticket.

1. You might not get the same luxurious as you would in normal ticket price. This usually due to class difference. But remember, you also pay cheaper for the flight. Just see if the differences are fair.

2. You might not get one at your scheduled time. So it is important that you have other booking for reserve. Unless you are not in hurry and flight date is not a problem.

3. Some last-minute ticket might have different airport destination, though the city or destination is the same. They might be a ticket for a lesser-known airport and you would need to take further transportation. Check the detail information before you take it. Otherwise, prepare how you will get to your destination from a different airport.

4. Be prepared for some allowances. The ticket was not originally what you had wanted for. The details wont be the same. You might find different comfort and, again, luxury. You can compare in advanced to the amount you’ll save.

5. Set your standard however. Flying by last-minute ticket doesn’t mean you can not complain. You still have the right of a passenger to get the standard service. If you feel like you get different treatment or the service is bad, don’t doubt to complain.

Buying Flights Is Something That Will Take Time And Surely Shouldn’t Be Done Quickly.

July 22nd, 2009
by Maisie J Matthews

A lot of people go on holiday every year and one of the key parts to this is booking your flights. You should be able to get yourself some great deals if you do your research properly.

It can be really hard to find the best deals if you haven’t done your research and you could end up overspending by just listening to what your travel agent says. It’s totally worth it to do some research so that you can find the best deals.

It can be really hard to find the people who have the best deals so you will need to do some price comparison of your own to find out what deals are suitable for your budget. It’s always worth trying to save money on flights and holidays.

As well as considering the prices of holidays, you’ll also need to think about destinations. A lot of people dream of going on holiday but don’t quite know where to go. You’ll have to read some reviews and look at other people’s opinions to find a place that’s right for you.

Once you have chosen a destination you’ll then be able to do some thorough research in to the prices for that area. Most of the time, it’s pretty easy to find what you’re looking for but it can be worth spending a good few hours on your research just to make sure you get it right.

As I said earlier, you will need to do some price comparison to make sure that you get yourself the best deals. The easiest way to do this is to head to a few of the online booking websites and find the flights and holiday deal that you want. Make a note of the price and move onto the next site.

Choosing your budget should be easy. Just make sure you are realistic and that you are willing to pay the average for the area you have chosen. It’s easy to get over excited and end up over spending.

If you have done your research properly then choosing a budget should be easier for you. You’ll be able to see what the average prices are and this will give you a good idea of how much you need to spend for your dream holiday.

When you’re armed with all the information and you have a budget in mind you can then head to your local travel agent. It’s completely normal to head into your travel agent to negotiate. Many people skip this step but it can be worth a huge saving.

Many people don’t like buying flights or holidays online because of various complications that can occur. This is why it’s much easier to head into your local travel agency. However, don’t dismiss the online stores if you’re comfortable buying there.

It’s normally quite easy to get them to lower their prices to match something else you’ve found online. Flights are quite cheap at the moment so you should really do some research to find out where the best deals are.

All in all, finding cheap flights is easier than you think but doing your research is essential to get yourself the best deal. You could end up saving a lot of money so it’s totally worth it.

Organizing your trip can be a nightmare; you want to make sure you have everything packed, know where you travel documents are, and an itinerary in mind for once you arrive. It is a great idea to do some preliminary research prior to your trip so you can be assured of finding the best tickets at the best prices, especially if you are planning on traveling to Europe as it can be expensive. Doing your work ahead of time can help you find the best deals on hotels because Europe is so beautiful that you will want to spend many days in each city just to enjoy it.

The problem just keeps getting bigger if you decide to go to Europe at the last minute. There are many things that can go wrong in your panic. You might not get to your destination on time, which can mess up car schedules, rental schedules, and hotel bookings. You can mess up a lot of things when you pack, and you can miss a lot of important things if you do not have a lot of time to pack up. Moreover, you will not enjoy your trip if you miss a lot of things in terms of packing and transportation.

If you want to plan a last minute travel trip to Europe, here are a few tips that you could take into account.

- Making lists can save your holiday. Even if are mentally aware of what needs to be done you want to put it on paper. Plan ahead for that unexpected trip, write down what you WOULD take to Europe if you were to suddenly hop on a plane tomorrow. You will even want to write down the basics of a passport and toiletries as these are commonly forgotten. Once you have written your list place it somewhere you will easily find it when the opportunity for travel arises.

- Don’t underestimate the power of your agent either. Talk to your travel agent about advice for last minute plans, and if your travel agent already has a list of discount hotels in Europe. This way, you can always have someone ready and waiting to help you out just in case you suddenly get the urge to go to Europe.

- Subscribe or get log ins to discount hotels in Europe. This means that you need to get onto their website and log yourself in regularly in order to see what deals they have. This way, you are aware of what discounts there are, so that when you get to start going to Europe and have to travel at the last minute, you can immediately log on to the website that you need and get yourself discounts on lodging.

- Be aware of what your memberships offer in terms of European travel. Some credit cards have discount packages that allow you to get ticket discounts, while some insurance companies or even your car insurance and sales company will have discounts for travel. You may be able to get yourself some great discounts if you know where to look, and if you already have these discounts under your belt!

- Subscribe to travel magazines and read about destinations in Europe. Read up on some history as well! This way, if you suddenly get the urge to go to Europe, you already know where to go and you don’t mess up your touring plans.

Traveling With Your Family To San Francisco

July 20th, 2009
by Brad Alexzander

If you are looking for an ideal holiday destination for you and your family I would like to recommend San Francisco and have listed some suggestions for hotels and activities that you are sure to enjoy!

In the heart of Union Square you will find the Westin St. Francis hotel which I highly recommend. Union Square is home to fabulous shopping, awesome restaurants, and incredible museums and is within walking distance to the theater district. Worldwide the Westin collection of hotels is renowned for being family friendly and the St. Francis is no different. Accommodations are always luxurious, whether you choose a family suite or a deluxe room. Common amenities include: refrigerators, cribs, roll away beds, a child size breakfast, lunch and dinner menu at the hotel’s restaurant.

Upon check-in expect gifts for your children which typically include items such as hats, crayons, and shampoo. Never fear, there are amenities onsite that are strictly adult as well including onsite barber and beauty shops, concierge services, dry cleaning services, a fitness center, and room service.

You don’t even need to leave the hotel for haute cuisine as there are three restaurants which offer award winning fare from traditional to casual dining. There is even a Westin Kid’s Club for children 12 and under, as well as specialized meals that are high in protein and low in salt. You can be guaranteed your family will be delighted with their meals, regardless of whether you dine formally or take in room service.

Among the many activities you and your family can engage in while in San Francisco are the following tours: A ferry ride around Alcatraz Island (while all the way Tony Bennett sings his famous “I Left My Heart in San Francisco”), Yosemite and giant Sequoias Minivan tour, Monterey, Carmel and the 17-Mile Drive tour including Monterey Bay Aquarium, take a cable car tour of San Francisco, walk or drive down the most crooked street in the world – Lombard Street, visit Coit Tower, or rent a car and take a side trip to the lovely quaint town of Salsalito, just across the Golden Gate Bridge.

Plan on spending lunch or dinner at Fisherman’s Wharf where Ghirardelli Square is home to over 50 restaurants, shops, plazas, and incredible views of the bay. Take your kids to the Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop for their world-renowned hot fudge sundaes. Don’t forget to buy a box of their world-famous chocolate as well.

You and your family will create memories of a lifetime while in San Francisco. Its rolling hills and beautiful landscape will instantly capture your heart!

Spring Break At Florida’s Best – Key West, Miami, Daytona & South Beach

July 11th, 2009
by Brad Alexzander

For many college students Florida is the number one destination of choice for fun during spring break.

Key West has white-sand beaches and turquoise water. It is considered a tropical paradise for visitors. Water sports are highly popular here such as diving, snorkeling, and exploring the underwater coral reefs.

Miami Beach has become more famous as the years have passed. It is a place where colorful buildings line the streets and shopping is superb, encompassing the most well-known designer shops in Florida. With a variety of restaurants, you will be spoilt for choice in Miami. The beaches are great and of course the weather couldn’t be better this time of year.

Daytona is well known for its Daytona 500 races as well as Bike Week, and hoards of college students descend here during Spring Break. While most college students will spend their entire stay on the beach, Daytona does offer one the opportunity to visit the Kennedy Space Center.

Recently South Beach has become nearly as popular as Miami Beach. While hotels on the popular Collins Avenue are not cheap you should be able to find some good deals between 10th and 15th Street.

The best thing about vacationing in Florida is that it is quite affordable and the airfares tend to be lower than other vacation spots. However, you need to book early as many students from across the country will fly to Ft. Lauderdale and other major cities in Florida.

When preparing for your vacation remember that very little time will be spent in the hotel room. With airline restrictions on checked baggage you can save money by packing light and traveling with a carry on; wear your swim suit or trunks under your clothing so that when you arrive you are ready to hit the beach!

Overview of Flights to Port Elizabeth

June 9th, 2009
by Graham McKenzie

Port Elizabeth International Airport conciliates around 1 Million travellers in a year through its doorways.

At present, nearly 60% of the travellers, which pass through the Port Elizabeth International, are traders; however this is expected to change as tourism grows in the region.

Are you planning to enjoy vacation South Africa? Then you may wish to visit Port Elizabeth, known as the ?Friendly City? and also sometimes light-heartedly called the ?Windy City?. It was founded as a British town in the year 1820 and civilized by British Settlers, chiefly to work as a shield between the Cape Colony, and the rather aggressive Xhosa tribe. Port Elizabeth is the sister city to Jacksonville and Palm Desert, the two cities of America.

Port Elizabeth is a family oriented city and offers fun and excitement for people of all ages. You will have access to sublime beaches, a variety of water activities, winding nature trails, wildlife experiences, cultural heritage sites, fine dining and loads of shopping opportunities.

The climate in Port Elizabeth is rated the fourth best in the world for coastal destinations. Beautiful beaches grace its coast, and because of the excellent sea conditions and pleasant water temperatures, an increasing number of water activities are being offered. You can try you hand at kite boarding, surfing, sea skiing, wind surfing, scuba diving or jet skiing. If deep sea game fishing is your passion, fishing charters can be arranged with one of the many experienced skippers in the area. Sea safaris are also available should you want to enjoy a sunset cruise, a dolphin experience or whale watching.

Port Elizabeth?s coastal areas are very rewarding for Scuba diving. You can choose between the various shore entries and boat dives. If you choose to dive from the shore, then you have the option of 3 dive sites such as the Postman?s, Devil?s Reef, and the Shark Rock Pier, each of which are between 2m and 8m deep. If you prefer a boat dive, then there are 20 different dive sites, which are between 6m and 40m deep. Four of them are shipwrecks, twelve are the reefs and one among them is a shark dive, called Raggie Sands. Nearly 40 Rag Tooth sharks have been seen here in a single dive. If you can get lessons for diving if you can?t dive. Single day courses are available and gears can be hired from the local dive operators.

There is more to Port Elizabeth than beaches though. For culture and natural history there is no better place than Bayworld. Bayworld is a museum (PE Museum and No. 7 Castle Hill), oceanarium and snake park complex that is located off Beach Road in Humewood. Special needs individuals are catered for and wheelchair access is available in most of the areas within the complex. Dolphin and Seal presentations are held daily and are guaranteed to thrill young and old.

The enthusiastic golfer will find Port Elizabeth a golfer?s paradise. There are no less than five golf courses to choose from within the city?s borders, and many more within easy reach just on the outside. These are Port Elizabeth Golf Club, Shark River Golf Club, Walmer Country Club, Wedgewood Park Country Club and Humewood Golf Club. Humewood is one of the top ten golf courses in South Africa. A true seaside links course, Humewood has exposed fairways, steep faced bunkers, fast and strong greens and thick brush roughs. The course is in excellent condition and never disappoints ardent golfers in search of a challenging game.

Port Elizabeth?s weather remains brilliant most of the year. This makes it a perfect destination all year round. From the start of December to near mid of January, it becomes busy during the South African Schools? summer break. So, if you seek a quieter atmosphere, then mid January onwards, would be the best time to visit.
