4 Issues in Picking Your Golfing Package

January 15th, 2010

If you like the game of golfing and take pleasure in traveling, then a golfing package may be the best excursion for you this year. Imagine playing eighteen holes at an internationally famous golf course while taking in all the advantages of a resort atmosphere. Or consider playing on a course, designed by one of the golf greats, by day and enjoying the sounds and sights of an enjoyable town by night.

In choosing your golfing package consider 4 elements of that package before booking that dream trip.

Purpose

There are a variety of golf packages that surround the sport of golf. However, each of these packages can offer a different variation of the golfing feature.

For example one golf package may offer the opportunity to practice and play rounds of golf on a course that has been especially designed by one of the best golfers. Or another golf package may offer you golfing lessons conducted by a world renowned golfing professional. Therefore, knowing what you want from your golf package will allow you to select the appropriate package that best matches what is being offered.

Features

It is crucial to understand from the onset what’s included in the golfing package before buying. Questions about the quantity of night’s stay, rounds of golfing included, airfare, availability of the hotel’s facilities, any included meals, etc, should get asked for in writing.

Also, in regards to cost, are there any extra costs above the price of the golf package? These extra charges may include tips, taxes, or other assessments. To make your golfing package excursion as enjoyable as practicable it’s best when there are no upsetting surprises.

Location

Additionally, there are packages that provide a spa environment or are just simply drawing on the uniqueness of their location. These locations may include locales anywhere in the continental US, Hawaii or maybe Scotland, the birthplace of golfing. If this is a vital consideration in picking your golfing package consider mixing your golf with the dream holiday of an entire life.

The Season

Another feature in planning for your golf package is to determine the peak times as well as those times considered as part of the off-season. Peak times are defined as the optimum part of the year based on weather and other factors. Peak times generally reflect the height of the tourist season. Off season times are generally characterized by uncertain weather resulting in less tourism.

A golfing package taken in the off season could be less costly and less crowded, but not pleasing if there’s inclement weather. On the other hand, taking your golfing package during top times might not be to your tastes thanks to the crowds and tourism costs.

The Make Natural Power Guide Reviewed

November 10th, 2009

I am sure you have heard a lot about all guides out there that promise to show you step-by-step how to make your own home solar panels and wind generator. One of those guides happens to be “Make Natural Power”. But does it live up to its claims? And is it the your best option? Here is my experience with the guide.

The only thing I liked about Make Natural Power was its cover. Everything else was completely useless. On the outside it looked like it had all the features, but the advice was very limited and not that helpful.

Good Aspects:

You will be able to build a solar and wind power system, but it will take you a very long time, unless you have great technical skills.

Dislikes

* Poor drawings

Not only were the diagrams for both the solar and wind power instructions boring and dull, but they were badly labeled and and not even to scale.

* Useless solar power

The instructions were not easy to follow, and the illustrations did not help either. Because of this, the reader is required to figure things out on their own, resulting in a useless solar panel system, if it ever get finished.

* Incomplete maintenance instructions

Although we managed to build a working wind turbine, it only lasted for about 2 months until it completely seized. It turns out the the maintenance instructions forgot to show us how to weather-proof the wind turbine properly.

* Customer support is really slow

A lot of the time we had to contact customer service for assistance. But they were very slow to respond, and by the time they did reply we had either forgotten what the problem or had figured it out ourselves. On average, it will take over 5 days to get the answers you need.

Conclusion

Make Natural Power at home was obviously created by someone trying to copy Earth4Energy, and it shows in the guide. It was badly written, incomplete, and an absolute waste of our time.

Tim McDonald recommends you rather try Earth4Energy for FREE, if you want to build a quality DIY Renewable Energy system and actually reduce your electricity bill.

Candle Making – The Importance Of Temperature

October 12th, 2009
by Kala Swart

There are many different candle making techniques that you can use depending on the type of candle you wish to make. However the most important or critical step is getting the temperature of everything correct. This includes the pouring temperature of the wax, the room’s temperature and even the temperature of the container or mold you are using.

The pouring temperature is critical depending on the material you are using for the candles. You can use natural waxes, paraffin, gel or other materials. They all will come with a recommended pouring temperature and this should be followed when making candles. Some waxes such as natural waxes pour better at lower temperatures while others will need higher temperatures.

Controlling the room temperature is important as you can do candle making at any time of the year. If you are in a room that is humid and warm then you will have a different pouring temperature then a room that is damp and cold. You will find that you will get many different results depending on the room temperature. If your room is cool then you may need to heat the wax to a higher temperature then when you make candles in the summer.

The temperature of the candle molds you are using is also important. Most molds should be pre-heated in order to get rid of any moisture. Moisture in the mold can cause air pockets and the moisture should be removed as much as possible. Dry heat is the best way to pre heat the molds and a heat lamp or heat gun is a good tool to use.

Dyes are also used to color candles. All dyes are made of the three primary colors of blue, red and yellow. You can combine these colors to make secondary colors and then you can create any type or shade of color you want. The main problem with using dyes is getting a consistent color throughout the entire candle. This is easier to achieve when making larger batches of candles as measuring the dye is much easier.

There are many different types of dyes that include liquid dye, color blocks and powdered dyes. Liquid dyes can give you the best consistent color and are easy to use and mix into the melted wax.

Pigment dyes produce a very rich and deep color for your candles but are only used when dipping candles. Powdered dyes are perfect for large batches as and are economical as you can achieve fantastic color with a small amount of powdered dye.

The Les Paul by Gibson

October 7th, 2009
by Jornando French

When the Fender Telecaster was introduced to the market in 1950, there was soon a big surge in the guitar enthusiast world. After this introduction, the Gibson Les Paul made its debut. Gibson was and is still a leading musical instrument manufacturer. At the time, Les Paul was one of the most respected guitarists at the time. Les Paul was known for his innovation in musical instruments and this led the president of Gibson Company, Ted McCarthy, to recruit Les Paul to be a consultant for Gibson.

Les Paul first made a solid body guitar prototype called the The Log. Les Paul had already talked to Gibson in 1945 with this guitar prototype but the idea was not accepted. Then in 1951, Les Paul and Gibson began working together and Les Pauls innovative idea created a shock wave in the music industry. The line of Gibson hollow-body electric guitars inspired new ideas to create the Gibson Les Paul–a kind of hard body and hollow body combination. It differed greatly from Fender because the Fender was a solid body and Gibson Les Paul sported a more curved body and a glued-in neck.

The role of Les Paul and Gibson was not without any controversy. One issue was that the president of Gibson Corporation approached Les Paul and asked him for permission to print his name on the headstock of the guitar. He hoped this would increase the sales of the Gibson Les Paul. It was also claimed by McCarthy that they only had discussions with Les Paul regarding the tailpiece and fitting of a maple cap over the mahogany body for increased density and sustain. Les Paul also wanted the new model to have a gold finish but the Gibson gave flame and tiger maple finishes for it to compete with the Fender.

The original Les Paul guitar had two models– the regular model, later nicknamed the Goldtop and the other was the custom model with upgraded hardware in a black finish. There was a constant improvement seen in the electric pickups, body and hardware patterns which was very pleasing to guitarists. The humbucking pickup completely eliminated the 60-cycle humming that previously inundated the amplified guitars.

The Gibson Les Paul has truly evolved through the years. The Gibson Les Paul models are Goldtop (1952-1957), Custom (1954-1960), Gibson Les Paul Junior (1954-1960), Gibson Les Paul TV (1955-1960), Gibson Les Paul Special (1955-1960), Gibson Les Paul Standard (1958-1960), Gibson Les Paul SG 1961, Gibson Les Paul Deluxe 1968, Gibson Les Paul Studio 1983, as well as the modern Gibson Les Paul guitars. In the 1960s, prominent rock guitarists began using the Les Paul and this really solidified the reputation of quality and ease of play. This is why the Gibson Les Paul is so popular today with upcoming and established guitarists.

What Drivers Do Golfers Use In 2009?

October 6th, 2009
by George Statos

Anyone looking for a new golf driver in 2009 has a lot to be happy about, as the golf company’s went beyond the usual cosmetic tweaks to produce some truly great products. The best golf drivers of 2009 used the latest technology and innovative design to increase distance, reliability, and forgiveness.

The best golf drivers of 2009 have many traits in common. For starters, they tend to have the 460cc oversized clubheads that do such a nice job in generating maximum distance. Many also use proprietary weighting system to maximize both the MOI and the center of gravity.

Getting a good driver involves picking the type that suits your game. For many golfers, a game improvement driver is the way to go, because they are designed to help even off-center hits fly farther and more accurately. Scratch golfers aren’t going to care about those variables as much as the shot-shaping ability the driver provides, looking for more control.

Golf drivers come in every price range, but the usual dividing line between the upper and lower price ranges is somewhere in the neighborhood of $350. Those looking to spend less than that have a number of great options to choose from. Among the best golf drivers of 2009 in that category are the Callaway Big Bertha Diablo, the Ping G10, the TaylorMade Burner, the Adams Golf Speedline, and the Cleveland Launcher.

For those looking to spend a little more, there are some higher-end models that do everything but get the ball down the fairway under their own power. The Callaway FT-9 and FT-IQ, TaylorMade R7 Limited, and Nike SQ Dymo and Dymo2 STR8-FIT are some of the best drivers of 2009, and a few hits on the driving range are enough to sell anyone on those models.

It might take a little research, like poking around this website for the best reviews and prices. But regardless of your budget or ability, there was a great driver for you released in 2009.

Types Of Renewable Energy – 4 Ways to Produce Clean Energy

October 3rd, 2009
by Tim McDonald

As the world reaches its energy crisis we need to reduce our dependence on non-renewable energy sources, and start generating renewable energy on a massive scale.

Currently there are 4 major types of renewable energy available at our disposal: solar energy, wind energy, hydro energy, and geothermal energy.

From The Wind:

Wind energy has been used for thousands of years. Initially windmills were built to tow boats, grind flour and pump water. But as industry developed, wind turbines were put into operation to generate electric power.

Some people still imagine windmills as the ornate ones found in the Netherlands, or the small wind pumps on farmland, but wind power technology has come a long way. Today, massive windmills, better known as wind turbines can generate millions of watts of electric energy, and smaller ones can be used at home as a substitute to grid-tied power.

Solar Energy:

The sun is the most readily available form of energy there is, so we should be using it to a larger extent. And as technology advances, households are provided with a number of ways to harness the power of the sun. These ways include solar electricity, solar heaters, solar dryers and solar cookers.

Passive solar design, solar power and solar heating are some of the the best ways to reduce your power consumption at home – these systems need very little upkeep, and they are also great for the environment. Solar cooking is a healthy alternative to using an oven or stove – the food is cooked slowly so more minerals and vitamins are retained, and no electric power is needed. This makes it ideal for camping and outdoor cooking in the summer months.

Water Power:

Initially hydro or water power was used industrially in rivers and waterfalls to power waterwheels that would then be used to move water for irrigation or grind flour.

In modern times the power of water is mainly used in to generate hydro-electricity. This is mainly done is large dams, where water is stored and released through small channels. The force of the water through these channels is extremely strong and capable of spinning large turbines, that then generate electric power. An example would be the Hoover Dam that is used primarily to supply Las Vegas with electricity. Over 90% of our renewable energy is generated with hydro-electric dams.

Many environmentalists and socialists are against hydro-electric dams, since they affect the natural forna and flora and can cause the forced removal of entire cities.

Geothermal Energy:

Geothermal power is typically produced in areas with ongoing volcanic activity, where magma is relatively close to the surface. One such area is Iceland, where a large proportion of its power is produced from volcanic geysers.

Where this lava comes into contact with water, it super heats it and causes large volumes of steam to burst to the surface through geysers. The pressure from this steam is diverted and passed through turbines to generate electricity. Once the steam has passed through it is sometimes cooled, turned back into water, which is then pumped back into the geyser to make more steam. This makes it everlasting cycle…

Now that you have read this brief outline of the various types of renewable energy, you can learn more about each type by visiting our website in one of the links below.

Learn to Play Piano: How Piano Lessons Can Make Your Kid Smarter

October 1st, 2009
by Gretchen Mollse

My father had dreams of having a prodigy in the house. He was hoping a piano lesson could help do the trick. My brothers and I tried our best not to annoy our very patient piano teacher to death. Years later, I realized my father was right.

Now that I have kids of my own, I’m thinking of starting them with some piano lessons too. Some experts say learning how to play the piano can boost a child’s brainpower. Here are some benefits your child will get from every piano lesson:

Creativity

Yes, children are by nature already creative, but once they get into elementary school, it tends to drop with structured classroom learning. Kids can turn a piano lesson into a hobby so that they can have some freedom to express themselves. Piano playing strengthens visual learning skills to help them process ideas better.

Confidence

Taking piano lessons can boost a kid’s self-esteem! Though recitals are scary, kids appreciate it when parents cheer them from the audience. Their confidence goes through the roof when they see that you’re proud of their accomplishments, no matter how small.

Powers Mental Alertness/Concentration

Playing the piano requires a certain focus which can be developed through practice. It’s important however that kids start lessons at 7 so that they can sit still and listen. They should be able to follow instructions and know basic math and the alphabet to learn how to read notes.

Improves Coordination

Kids will have better coordination when they learn how to play piano. Playing with feeling require different techniques for touching keys while using foot pedals to resonate pieces correctly. Going through a passionate piano lesson is like having them participate in an athletic sport!

How to Have Wholesome Family Fun

The greatest thing about having a piano in the house is – everybody can join in! You can also take a piano lesson or two and learn along with your kids. It’s better than being couch potatoes all day long.

While I didn’t exactly end up at Carnegie Hall, playing the piano was certainly a fun part of my childhood. If you want your child to experience some memorable times, (along with picking up skills that can be useful in life) – help them learn to play piano. As my father used to say, ‘You never know unless you try.

Do You Fancy A Pink Acoustic Guitar ?

September 30th, 2009
by Nico Davenport

It may come as a shock to you if your soon-to-be teenaged daughter suddenly wants a pink acoustic guitar. Usually it is the boys who want a guitar and not your little darling who was dressing up as a princess not so long ago. You might think about waiting to see if your daughters interest fades or buy a cheaper guitar in case she becomes bored with guitar playing and quits. But before you do this, you really need to consider a few things.

You’ve probably seen the TV show, Hannah Montana, which depicts a young girl who has attained status as a rock star. This is probably just one of the many reasons that it has become trendy for young women today to become muscians. There are many pluses and minuses when it comes to young girls yearning to become famous. But, as parents you can take what otherwise might just be a passing phase and use that pink acoustic guitar and turn it into a important and enduring passion.

Girls today have to deal with so many pressures from society. There are pressures pertaining to body image, pressures from peers to become sexually active as well as, academic pressures at school. A creative outlet, such as playing guitar can be very helpful. In general, girls tend to focus their emotions inward, which can be a bad thing. Channeling their emotions would be a better way, but this needs to be encouraged, even if it is negative. Guitar playing can help with this process by getting a young girl to let out her feelings, but still have them be private.

Even in the solitude of her own space she can release these emotions in a creative way and express herself. Her guitar songs are hers alone, and she does not have to share them with anyone. However, parents can gain insight into what their daughter is going through that you may not normally hear about if they encourage her to perform, even if it is just for the family after dinner.

There are certain things that need to be taken into consideration when it’s time to buy the first guitar for your daughter. First, this isn’t the time to pinch pennies. Don’t purchase just any old pink acoustic guitar from the dollar store or from the toy section. Even people who have been playing the guitar for awhile have a hard time playing an inexpensive guitar. Your best option is to shop locally at a music store, preferably a store that specializes in guitars.

There are several great guitars that hold a special visual allure for girls. Daisy Rock is a popular company that focuses on making guitars with girls in mind. They are not called The Girl Guitar Company for nothing. Daisy Rock carries everything from simple pink acoustic guitars to heart-shaped guitars and ones that come in the shapes of stars or butterflies.

Don’t try surprising your daughter with a gift, it is best that you take her to shop for her first guitar. No two guitars are said to be the same. Even pink acoustic guitars have their variations too. By giving her the chance to choose her own, she will find the best one that feels right in her hands and the one that sounds right to her ears and her inner heart.

Lance Armstrong – Biker Extraordinaire

September 30th, 2009
by George Ross

Lance Armstrong’s life story will have to be ranked among the most inspiring ones. he is a champion biker who has won the Tour de France more than anybody for a record breaking 7 consecutive years. Among his many achievements are being awarded ABC Wide Sports Athlete of the Year in 1999, Prince of Asturias Awards in Sports in 2000, Sports Illustrated magazine Sportsman of the year from 2002, and he even got ESPNs ESPY Award for Best Male Athlete from 2003 ” 2006. The list is endless but what’s even more awesome is that he has achieved all of these despite being afflicted with something others would have thought an irreversible tragedy.

Lance was diagnosed with testicular cancer. It started with a tumor that has metastasized to his brain and lungs in 1996. Even though his original prognosis was poor, Lance rallied himself and with the help of his treatments that included brain and testicular surgery, and a series of chemotherapy, he bounced back and what happened after was history.

A lot are filled with awe and inspiration with how Lance rose to the top after all he has been through. They followed the hero’s exploits and took interest even in his personal affairs. His being linked to famous female celebrities only made him even more irresistible to the public eye.

The cyclist has such a huge following. When his bike was among those stolen from an Astana Team Truck, all he needed to do was post the incident on his twitter. Right away his twitter fans were alerted and in four days, police in Sacramento took receipt of Lances bicycle.

His twitter post caused quite a stir that immediately, a Facebook group called ‘1 Million Citizens Looking For Lance Armstrong’s Bike’ was created.

The formation of this particular group made it clear that practically everybody was now on the lookout for the celebrity’s bicycle. It made it hard for the culprits to move much less sell the bike. The person who brought the bike to the police was not a suspect and no arrests have been made either. It seemed that everyone was at peace now that the hero’s bicycle has been returned.

It is indeed inspiring that a loss of a bicycle could spark the interest of millions. But if you are a people’s champion, a million adoring mob would be on your beck to make sure a prized possession is returned. A Bicycle of a champion.
