July 5th, 2009
by Grant Dougan

The Playstation 3 is the hottest gaming system in stores with its popularity continually increasing. And the swarm of users with other systems switching only adds to PS3’s rising fame and sales. This increase is credited to the superior capability and power the PS3 offers. And gamers are claiming the best benefit as the capability to download PS3 games anytime they want online.

We know that all gamers want the best, so it is not a surprise that many gamers want to know where they can find their PS3 downloads. That is the reason why we have devised a plan to create a quick guide to explain where faithful PS3 gamers can find the latest downloads.

The biggest mistake a gamer can make is put faith in the websites that advertise the various “free PS3 downloads”. It doesn’t matter how fancy the banners are or how professional they look, most are just create a whole world of problems.

It is a known fact that these so-called “free” websites put your computer system at risk for becoming infected with a nasty virus or other malicious spyware. The reason for this is that these sites don’t have people monitoring what is being uploaded, so what you get will definitely be a surprise.

But gamers beware, viruses and spyware are not the only problem you fill have to deal with. A large majority of these sites come with unbelievable slow speeds and files that are useless. And a huge number of gamers are forced to endure hours of waiting for a file that is corrupted and doesn’t even work to finish downloading. Thus, the gamer is forced to lose precious time waiting, when they could be gaming.

That is why it is massively important that gamers join a specialized and legitimate game site that offers downloadable PS3 games. Gamers can join as exclusive members where they can simply login and download PS3 games to their hearts content. These websites are always fully monitored and developed by companies that care and want to make your experience free from worrying about viruses or spyware. The best perk of all is that gamers won’t have to wait forever to download and use the game files that never work.

Even though these sites come with a fee, it is inexpensive and gamers always get a return on the investment. The median price is $50 which includes lifetime access to all the games available at any time. Gamers get to login whenever they want and are only billed once. Along with the unlimited downloadable PS3 games, you also get to download unlimited movies, music, and much more.

Another major mistake is to join a site that charges various fees, such as month to month fees or “per download” fees. Even if it sound like the better bargain, it is always best to find a lifetime membership that charges one flat fee. It will prove to be a better price for the longrun.

Not sure what to do? Don’t fret, these sites offer quick tips, guides and tutorials, for your every gaming need. You will be downloading your games in no time, including any extra software needed for your PS3.

As with any avid gamer, there is a risk of becoming addicted to the all access PS3 memberships, but this is one addiction you won’t need to kick. So enjoy the access and privilege of trying any game you want whenever you want with a simple click of your mouse. Enjoy and happy gaming!

Playstation 3 Downloads – Where To Find Them!

June 15th, 2009
by Grant Dougan

You may have noticed that the Playstation 3 is picking up steam in recent months. That’s because more and more people are choosing this system over its competitors for its power and versatility. One of the best features of this system is the ability to use PS3 game downloads on your console after downloading them.

You probably won’t be surprised to find out that lots of gamers are looking for places to get PS3 downloads. That’s why we decided to put together a short guide on the best places to find these games.

The first thing you need to do is know what kind of site to avoid. If you see a website claiming to offer free PS3 downloads, you need to steer clear. Many of them look good, but the majority will just cause you problems in the long run.

That’s because there’s no monitoring happening on these sites. You’re putting yourself at risk from malware every time you download.

In addition, there are no guarantees on download speed, and you’ll find that a lot of the game files are broken or corrupt. No one enjoys waiting hours for files to download, then finding out that they don’t function.

The alternative is to get a membership for a specialized download website. This allows you to join up, log in, and get games whenever you please. Since these websites are monitored by people who want to make sure you get a high level of quality, spyware and viruses aren’t a concern. In addition, you’ll know the files always work and the downloads will run quickly.

There is a membership fee for this kind of site, but it doesn’t cost enough to be a problem. Most sites charge around fifty dollars for lifetime, unlimited access. Then you can log in whenever you like without being billed again. That will give you not only unlimited PS3 downloads, but the ability to download other files for use on your console, such as music and movies.

One type of pay site to avoid is the kind that charges a per download fee or a monthly fee. They might seem like good deals, but if you can, you’ll spend less in the long run by finding a site that gives you a lifetime membership at a flat rate.

A good site will include information about getting the files you download to function on your system, and will offer access to any software you need to circumvent the copy protection on the games.

Once you’ve gotten your PS3 download membership, you’ll be surprised by how much you love it. Trying out new games is easy and fast – just download the file and burn the game.

2008 Worldwide Video Game Review

April 16th, 2009
by David Paul

The worldwide video gaming industry held its breath as 2008 came to a close. Did they manage to beat the year prior? With national economies on the brink of failure, companies closing left and right and governments scrambling to recover, could the gaming industry survive, or better yet, grow? Video Games offers a better value in terms of entertainment and that means they are weathering the storm fairly well.

Australia The Australian market bucked the trend of a lot of other areas of the world. PC gaming grew 4.2% with December really making the year with $21.2 million in sales. Overall the industry grew a whopping 47.8 percent in 2008 and reached $1.96B Australian dollars. Over $1B of that was spent on software, a 48.5% increase in sales. Unit sales increased in software by 42.1% while hardware saw a 36.6% rise. Nintendo was the big winner in the country with Wii Fit being the best selling software in the country and Nintendo platforms accounted for over 66% of all hardware sales in the market in 2008. In fact the top 4 titles for 2008 were Nintendo Wii titles (Wii Fit, Wii Play w/Remote, Mario Kart w/Wheel, Mario & Sonic at the Olympics).

Worldwide Gaming on the PC March saw the release of the 2008 PC Gaming Industry report from the PC Gaming Alliance. All’s well on the PC front they say with the worldwide market soaring skyward with annual revenue hitting $11 billion US. In fact the PC gaming market accounted for more revenue than any hardware from each of the three major console makers (Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo). Meanwhile Massive Multiplayer Online games took the reins and tied them to Broadband’s expanding penetration to catapult PC gaming into some pretty high numbers. Digital Distribution sites like Steam, GamersGate and Direct2Drive were used as fuel. Many MMO games are fetching $100 million in annual revenue while the 800 lb gorilla of the industry ? World of Warcraft ? is accounting for about $1 billion annually alone. When you throw in casual game portals, some of which are also raking in a cool $100 million annually you can see why the PC gaming industry is big smiles and hand shakes.

Japan Goes Under While they’re not exactly sliding into the ocean game sales weren’t all that spectacular in the country last year. Playstation 2 saw a massive drop off of 46% and even Nintendo’s DS Touch Generation software took a hit. Meanwhile the newer consoles – Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and Wii ? saw some promising growth and make 2009 look like a good year.

Overall Worldwide sales were up across the board by 11% in the three major markets (US, Europe and Japan) with 409.9 million units sold. The US and UK made up more than enough to cover the decline in Japan. 2009 is again expected to see another increase if key indicators are correct and it is shaping up to be the best year ever for video games.

Video Game Industry 2008 Report

The worldwide video gaming industry held its breath as 2008 came to a close. Did they manage to beat the year prior? With national economies on the brink of failure, companies closing left and right and governments scrambling to recover, could the gaming industry survive, or better yet, grow? Video Games offers a better value in terms of entertainment and that means they are weathering the storm fairly well.

Oz is Still Strange The Australians are always a strange bunch but when it came to gaming last year they proved even stranger. Their PC gaming market grew 4.2 percent and December totaled up to $21.2 million dollars (Australian) giving the industry a boost for 2008. Sure it’s not much, especially when you compare it to the massive 47.8% increase seen in the gaming industry as a whole in the country. In fact it rolled in $1.96 billion (AUS) for the year with just around $1 billion of that being in software accounting for much of the year’s improvement. Hardware also saw growth though and topped out 36% above the year before. Who took the top spots? Crikey if it wasn’t Nintendo who accounted for an amazing 66 percent of all hardware sold last year and nicked the top four slots in the gaming sales. Wii Fit was fit enough to hold off all comers with Wii Play w/Remote coming in second. Mario Kart w/Wheel dashed into third leaving Mario and Sonic at the Olympics to finish without a medal in fourth.

Worldwide Gaming on the PC March saw the release of the 2008 PC Gaming Industry report from the PC Gaming Alliance. All’s well on the PC front they say with the worldwide market soaring skyward with annual revenue hitting $11 billion US. An 11 percent jump across the major markets of Europe, the US and Japan means that around 410 million units were sold for the year. While the US and UK led the charge and are now suffering in bad economies they were more than enough to pick up what Japan missed. Indicators and pundits believe that the growth will continue in 2009.

Deciding What New Console to Get

April 6th, 2009
by Brian Engle

The three main next generation consoles currently available are the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and Nintendo Wii. Each has their own benefits and interesting features. When deciding which one (or ones) to purchase, everything should be considered so that the best decision can be made.

The successor to the Xbox, created by Microsft, did not have much new features in regards to the controller. However, as with most next generation systems, the picture and sound quality was much better.

It can get boring to play games alone, which is why Xbox 360 can be used in conjunction with the Internet. By taking advantage of Xbox Live, players can battle against anybody in the world. Also, many television shows and content updates can be received via Xbox Live.

The Playstation 3 outshines the Xbox 360 in the graphics department, as it has a more powerful processor. It also has a Blu-ray player for high definition, and thus can play Blu-ray movies.

Sony also recognized the importance of online gaming, which is why they developed the Playstation Network. It is virtually the same as Xbox Live, although there are some logistical and interface differences that would accompany any competitor’s product.

If one is looking for the most interesting console, the Wii definitely holds that position. It is novel in that it uses a motion controller, and nearly all games require movement by the player. This adds a new level of interactivity and excitement to gaming.

For families, the Wii is most definitely the best choice. Parents worry about their children not getting enough activity, but the Wii ensures that players must be active due to its inherent motion properties. Also, many family friendly games have been released and are going to be released for the Wii.

With all these different features, it can be difficult deciding on a console. Some people solve this problem by getting all three, but for most people, the decision takes a lot of time and thought.

what is the best gaming console?

March 11th, 2009
by Jaylen Derell

Two gaming consoles in the video game space have staked their claim for recognition of being the greatest till date – the Playstation 3 and its competitor the Xbox 360. Many are faced with the dilemma of having to choose between the two as both are equally good and to select one, they have to be clear about the benefits they are wanting out of the console.

Gaming fans and experts attach a great deal of importance to the reality that the processor of the PlayStation 3 has been built by the top three companies like Toshiba, Sony and IBM.

It is not a wonder that Play station is so popular since it offers great benefits in allowing high definition film viewing and internet surfing through its console and also has the robust NVIDIA graphics card along with the Blu Ray player backing it with a storage capacity of 54 GB.

The gamer is exposed to very real and almost actual contact with the various personalities and other displays on the console due to its NVIDIA graphics card which facilitates this and is being credited with coming close to the effects that are shown in big budget movies with similar graphics. The other advantage with PS3 is the variety of games on offer as well as the option to play games that were popular with the previous models of Play station.

Gaming experts view the Xbox 360 as a very viable alternative to the PS3 mainly because of its 3.2GHz operating frequency in combination with a processor driven by a 512MB RAM designed by IBM. The Xbox 360 is thought to be weaker than the PS3 in the graphics department, though it has the ATI at 500MHz backing it. The Blu Ray player of the PS3 scores over the Dual DVD-ROM of the Xbox 360 though the Xbox 360 can be utilized as a complete entertainment tool for the house given its compatibility to both the DVD and CD formats.

In the final analysis, the two consoles have good graphics, different games and it boils down to affordability in deciding which to go for and in this regard, the PS3 costs much higher than the Xbox 360. Gaming experts are of the opinion that the two video gaming consoles PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 will continue to offer many more exciting games in the near future and are far ahead of competition.
