Review Of LCD TVs

March 19th, 2010

As the prices of LCD televisions continues to fall and the reliability of today’s newest models becomes more well known, more and more consumers are seriously considering making the upgrade to a LCD TV. However, the wide array of features and options to consider can make learning about LCD TVs a bit baffling, as does the high quantity of techno babble present in many LCD TV reviews. Thankfully, the differences between the different LCD televisions on the market are pretty easy to understand once you grasp how a LCD television operates.

A LCD TV is a flat panel television that offers a high definition picture through recent advances in liquid crystal display technology. Basically, these televisions are able to display color images through refracting white light in highly specific ways as it is filtered by the liquid crystals. The shades of these colors is then determined by the amount of light that is passing through each spot of color, also known as a pixel. In recent years, the annual sales of LCD televisions has finally begun to be greater than that of the hefty cathode ray tube televisions of old.

The features available on a LCD television include a slim, attractive design and an unsurpassed screen resolution, but there are a handful of options to consider when narrowing down which LCD TV is right for you. As crystal clear video is a major selling point for consumers who love to watch sports or special effect laden films from home, one of the most important features to make a decision about is the refresh rate that the LCD television provides.

On the other hand, some users find that they are able to cut back a little bit when it comes to the actual image resolution. Because the image resolution is often so high in general with newer LCD TVs, some viewers find that it is very difficult to spot a meaningful difference between the resolution on one model and another, while others are able to spot the difference immediately. Much like choosing how high a sound quality one needs in a home stereo system, the choice of an ideal image resolution is largely a personal one.

Regardless of your final decision on a specific model of LCD television, every new owner can look forward to enjoying the savings in space that the slim design of these flat panel televisions affords . Unlike the old television clunkers, LCD televisions do not require furniture of their own, and many users really come to enjoy the sleek look of wall mounted LCD television, provided that it has been properly installed.

While many consumers make the assumption that bigger is better when it comes to a home television, this is not always the case for LCD TVs. Instead, the ideal size for an LCD television is usually determined by the size of the room that the television will be placed in, as well as most viewers will be seeing the LCD from. When a large LCD TV is placed in a small room, it may be difficult for most people to comfortably view the screen from the ideal angle.

One of the most exciting developments with the newest LCD TVs is a built in functionality that allows the television to log directly on to the internet and provide streaming video and audio content right to your home entertainment center. While their are currently only a handful of content providers that have joined forces with television manufactures on this endeavor, it promises to be the next big step in home entertainment, and the technology is already available for early adopters.

All in all, an LCD television can really change how you enjoy your time with your favorite television content as well as provide some extra interior design options for the living space in your home. By making a couple of easy decisions about just what you want out of your new LCD TV, you will find that choosing the perfect model for your needs and tastes is not nearly as difficult as it might seem.

A Brief History of Green Screen Hollywood

February 17th, 2010

Green screen Hollywood technology, a. K. A chroma key is a system employed by filmmakers to mix two separate photographs together. This works by making the background ( a solid color which is mostly green or blue ) clear in order to show another image which is the particular background that’ll be shown on film. This technique of filming is often referred to as color keying, blue screen, and color separation overlay ( CSO ). It was essentially used for weather reports. Forecasters were shot in front of chroma key screens and the background was replaced by actual maps that indicate weather forecasts . The chroma key technique is also used by filmmakers and photographers alike.

The green screen first made its appearance in the 1930’s at RKO Radio Pictures. The background used back then was blue. This technique of film making was developed in order to create special effects for the film “The thief of Bagdad.” aside from the chroma key strategy, filmmakers trusted a really tedious and laborious process called “travelling matte.” This made transition such as “wipes” possible.

Larry servant is understood to be responsible for pioneering the blue screen method. In reality, he even took home an Academy Award for visible effects for his work in “The thief of Bagdad.” After his pre-eminence in the 30’s, butler was the first person to use chroma key technology in Technicolor, paving the way for modern green screen Hollywood technology.

The first films to take advantage of Chroma Key technology was the flick adaptation of Ernest Hemingway famous short story, “The Old Man and the Sea,” starring Spencer Tracy. After the “Old Man and the Sea,” more films used the chroma key methodology. Some famous film that employ chroma key technology are The Empire Strikes Back, Lord of the Rings, Titanic, Star Trek, and even three hundred. Films that make use of CGI or computer generated pictures are also made with aid from green screen technology. This is how having out of this world settings and amazing creatures are able to be shown on film.

Today, green screen Hollywood technology isn’t just confined to big budget studios. It is also used in photography. From the initial blue screen, green was employed later on because filmmakers discovered that a green background doesn’t need boring lighting. Cameras are most delicate to this color, so the outcome of films shot on green screens are more easy to work with and manipulate. With that said, chroma key technology is now known to photographers and filmmakers’ best friend.

Televisions Have Come A Long Way Since Their Invention

January 22nd, 2010

As technology grows so does the use of our home television sets. There was actually a time when no one had a TV. The new technology entered the American home in the 1950’s and Americans have never been the same. America has gone from the minority or people owning televisions in the home to it being a minority not owning a TV in the home.

Where the average home had one television years ago this is not the case anymore. The average American home has five television sets and sometimes more. There is no area in your home where you cannot have the possibility of watching TV. And with other services with cable and satellite you can be plugged in all hours of the day and night.

Even the bathroom is a place where people have a TV. There are special televisions that are made to withstand moisture for places in the home where condensation occurs. You may also find special suited screens in other places in the home. Wireless technology is giving the ability for us to tune in anywhere without the use of cords and other needs that were once a necessity. We can even access the web from our televisions to connect to the world.

Many cooks appreciate a nice TV in the kitchen as well. They can watch their favorite cooking show or just be entertained while they are preparing a meal. Many TVs that are designed for the kitchen or similar work areas are also built in with a radio to have options. Some are even included with a CD or MP3 player.

Placing a TV anywhere is more accessible with the invention of the flat screen TV. This enables you to place a TV out of the way on a wall or hang from under a cabinet. There are more and more options to the placement of your TV so it does not take up a lot of room. They used to be out of reach in pricing but now they are coming down in price on a weekly basis across the country.

Technology has not missed you cell phone either. More and more cell phones are being equipped with the ability to watch streaming TV. This gives you anything you need on the go, anytime and anywhere.

Once thought of as a fad, television are here to stay and have become a vital part our ability to keep in touch with what is happening in the world. We can not only be entertained but also get breaking news and other information from the world that keeps us connected.

Good Quality Green Screen LA: A Guide To Finding

January 18th, 2010

One of the benefits of videos is that many people enjoy interacting with them. You can make them fun, straightforward to look at, and even interactive. This makes it possible to drive more folk to find and watch them which is one technique of increasing your audience traffic. It is important that you make them respectable too. One good idea is using a Green screen LA. This is a video making strategy which allows you to mix two screens or frames together.

One of the qualities of Green screen LA is that it makes characters and images that it creates clear and simple to see. It is simply a breeze to see characters shown on this medium as opposed to a video made employing a web based program. As a consequence, you don’t have to fret when making a business show to a large number of folk. This medium allows all kind of characters to be shown properly without any kind of interference.

One quality to watch out for when making videos using Green Screen LA technology is called the afterglow effect. This is more common when scrolling up and down on the green screen, which tends to leave a glow, which is affecting the standard of characters on view. When selecting a green screen you should ensure you don’t encounter this issue as to be certain that your show is easily understandable. A smart idea to remedy the difficulty of afterglow is to ask somebody knowledgeable in the field to counsel you a screen warranted to give you the least issues.

You need to also watch out for a Green screen LA that has high absorbance. A green screen with a level of high absorbance will make it a lot simpler for you to work with. Since you will need to use lots of lighting, an absorbent material allows the green screen to reduce the problem of glow effects, possibly making it tricky for you to display your images in the right way. The reason is that it has effects on how clear characters and photographs appear on the screen therefore giving you poor output. Good quality green screens should give you terribly very little reflectance in the slightest. Confirm your screen has as little afterglow effect as feasible. This guarantees you clear characters when making last presentations.

One of the common uses of a Green screen LA is in television and film productions such as weather reports and films that need extensive, grand photographs. The green screen permits movie makers to form illusions, battlefields, and fantastical creatures that would otherwise be very difficult to portray on the big screen. The type of work you want to use on your green screen also determines the quality of green screen you must pick. In the case of a TV display, the dimensions of the green screen also matters. The rationale is that vicinity and distance from the screen affects overall image display. As you combine the 2 frames to be employed in the demonstration of pictures or characters it’s important to test out how even they are. This might affect lighting and cause some type of reflection which results in poor photographs.

There are a lot of other websites giving different forms of advice on how to use green screen but most of them are not very detailed or precise. Before following these, be sure to check my own articles and reviews on Green Screen LA and Green Screen Studio LA, additionally, you can reach me at phillipguy@hotmail.com or 1-323-851-3825

An Enduring Television Classic, Andy Griffith

December 3rd, 2009

It seems as if everyone has heard of the imaginary town of Mayberry. The town with Sheriff Andy Taylor never was a real town. Instead, this small town where life seems so simple as compared to today, only existed on television.

Almost everyone knows Opie and his dad, Sheriff Andy from the Andy Griffith Show. The show began in’60 and ran for eight seasons. Now, over forty years after the last show was taped, Mayberry continues to air daily through syndicated television. People still enjoy the warm humor and the simple stories.

Andy Griffith played sheriff Andy Taylor. He was the reason the show grew in popularity. Andy was the wise and calm sheriff of Mayberry and Barney Fife was his high strung deputy.

Parts of the show came from Andy Griffith’s real life. There were shops that appeared in the make believe television town of Mayberry that had real counterparts in Griffith’s hometown of Mount Airy, North Carolina. Mount Airy was portrayed in the show as the next little town down the road.

In college, Andy Griffith studied music; however, his specialty has always been country humor. Several years before the show began, Andy made his first recording, a monologue entitled “What it Was, Was Football.”

Griffith also acted on Broadway. His Broadway play, “No Time for Sargents” was filmed as a movie during the’50s.

After the Andy Griffith Show filmed its last episode, Griffith tried a few more television shows, but did not find any more hits for several years. Almost twenty years passed before he got the lead role in Matlock during’86. In this show he was a country lawyer skilled at solving crimes.

In 2006, Andy Griffith left his North Carolina home to travel to Los Angeles in order to say good-by to friend and former co-star Don Knotts. Knotts was battling cancer at the time and in the hospital. Shortly after Andy’s visit, Knotts died.

Andy Griffith has won several awards. The Broadway acting he did gave him two Tony nominations. For the television series, Matlock, he won the People’s Choice award in’87. He has also been awarded the Metal of Freedom award. Andy Griffith’s home state has dedicated a section of a state highway to him.

Andy’s hard work has given him success in many different branches of the entertainment field. Some of these successes are in outdoor theater, Broadway, stand up comedy and movies, but his biggest success will always be from the role of Sheriff Andy Taylor in the television town of Mayberry.

High Hopes for the Philadelphia Eagles in ‘09

November 19th, 2009

Donovan McNabb is still the franchise player for the Philadelphia Eagles. He has been a member of the Eagles franchise for 10 years now and still the Super Bowl win has eluded him – not all his fault. Many years McNabb would have to create all by himself and throw to average receivers at best.

In 09′, the Eagles are a team with one significant part, Michael Vick – whether Vick will be factor is yet to be determined. Sitting out a few years can really slow him down.

The Eagles have been one of the most successful NFL franchises in the last decade and consistently make the playoffs. With McNabb’s injury Kevin Kolb has been excellent in both of his starts throwing over 300 yards in each game.

Unfortunately, McNabb suffered an injury during the course of the game. Such has been the case on many occasions in recent years, as McNabb is often criticized for being prone to injury. While most injuries usually involve his knees, this time McNabb’s ribs took their toll, as he cracked a rib during the game against the Panthers.

RB Brain Westbrook is the spoon that stirs the pot if you will. If Westbrook is healthy throughout the entire season, he is a player who can take a game over and carry the team as much as McNabb can. Westbrook is now 30 years old, his peak days might be behind him but he is still a major contributor to the Eagles offense.

McNabb will have to be healthy for the Eagles to make it to the Super Bowl – yes they went to the Super Bowl and won some games without him before.

Eagles fans are tired of being the brides maid and want to be the bride for once. The Eagles may not have too many opportunities left, McNabb is in his 30s and isn’t getting any younger. In 08′, McNabb started all 16 games, the first time since the 03′ season.

Kevin Kolb has performed very well in McNabb absence – throwing for 300 yards in two of his starts, for a back up QB that is almost unheard of. Kolb would be taken by many teams as a starting QB if the Eagles were willing to part with him – that isn’t likely to happen.

For more Eagles talk, head on over to the Philadelphia Eagles forums and chat on the best NFL forums online, all at RootZoo Sports.

Director of The Original Splatter Film (Blood Feast- 1963) To Release New Film

October 11th, 2009
by Thomas Lloyd

Any true slasher movie buff knows the legendary director, Herschell Gordon Lewis. Also known as “The Godfather of Gore,” Lewis has written and directed more than 30, B-list films over his long career. Most of his films were made between 1963 and 1979.

Then he seemingly disappeared from the world of gore films. For 30 years, he built his reputation as an advertising man and today he is considered one of the world’s leading authorities on direct response advertising, making more money a year than many of his films have grossed in their lifetime.

But even after his long absense, the infamous gore director has kept his love for film-making. The carnage-craving director can’t stay away any longer. “Making movies is like Malaria” he says. “It gets in your blood and stays there.”

His latest film “The Uh-Oh Show,” currently in post production is tentatively scheduled for release early in 2010. It’s about a hit game show where contestants win a lifetime of wealth if they answer the questions correctly… but if they answer wrong they get their limbs hacked off with a variety of intimidating devices.

This movie could only come from the twisted mind of Herschell Gordon Lewis

Recently, Herschell Gordon Lewis has become more mainstream, with a reverent reference in the award winning movie, “Juno.” But his films themselves are anything but mainstream.

“The Uh-Oh Show will, I think, mark a change in the direction of this kind of movie,” Lewis says. “Of late, a lot of these movies are derivative. You think you’re seeing the same movie over and over again. I don’t think they’re going to think that when they see The Uh-Oh Show! We mix outrageous splatter effects with hot humor so everyone knows immediately that it’s just a gag.”

Lewis’s films defy all generation gaps. The reactions are the same, regardless of age. Either audiences love it and find it disturbingly hilarious… or they think he should be in jail.

The Uh-Oh Show! is scheduled for film festival releases in December of 2009 and on DVD early in 2010.
