Five Tips For Better Registry Cleaner

March 19th, 2010

Registry cleaners are very important for your computer. They can help you a lot as well as causing you harm. So you need to be very careful about the cleaner you are using in your computer. Here are five tips which will help you to do get safer and better service from any registry cleaner you use in your computer.

Tip one: Registry stores all the movement in the computer and that includes every movement of the mouse or every switch you press in the keyboard. Registry makes entries for all of these actions and if you do any of them while a cleaner scans your computer, it will be confused about the new entries. So it’s better if you leave your computer while the cleaner scans your system.

Tip two: After the scanning, if you find anything wrong, like a program is no longer running, you should not be worried. There are many cleaners which are not capable of detecting every error and detect a right program as an error. If you find something like this, you better restore the software files from the backup option of the cleaner. If there is no backup option in the cleaner, you can restore them from the Windows tool you can use for backup. But in that case, you must use the tool to back up the entire registry before you let the cleaner scans it.

Tip three: It’s better not to use a registry cleaner software frequently. Because the registry is not a place where you should deal with regularly and more importantly, the registry cleaners make noticeable amount of performance failure to your computer.

Tip four: you can use more than one registry cleaner at a time if you want to. Most of the registry cleaners are not capable of taking care of every kind of errors in the registry. Some of them are good for removal performance and some do better in detecting intruder like virus, malware or spyware. But you should not run them all at a time. Instead you better run them periodically.

Tip five: To choose for a better registry cleaner for your computer, you must not go for cheap software. There are many cleaners available in the market. Some of them are totally free. Some of them cost very low and some are very expensive. I am not telling that the expensive ones are the best, but you must be sure about the performance and quality before you go for a registry cleaner. Because a registry cleaner can do good to your computer, but it can also do a lot of harm for your computer. For example, many registry cleaning software carry malware and put in your registry. There are also many shiny advertisements about the registry cleaners in the internet among which most are worthless. They will show you popup advertisement telling you that you have a serious problem in the registry. Do not trust this pop ups and close it as soon as it shows in your screen.

The 4 Best Ways to Improve the Speed of Your Computer

September 30th, 2009
by Jesse James

As a PC owner, from time to time, you get fed up and frustrated with the slowness of your computer. Maybe a certain program takes a long time to load, your PC boot-up time is ridiculously slow, or it takes forever just to do a simple task, like getting the start menu to open up.

Irrespective of what’s causing it, slow computers are something which millions of users have to deal with daily. Even though there is no guaranteed cure for a slow computer, there are however four things you can do to speed it up.

#1. Computers need to be rebooted

You’d be surprised at just how many people never bother rebooting their computers, and this in itself is a major cause for computers being slow. With so many people having 24 hour Internet connection, and their computers being an integral part of their lifestyle, many people tend to overlook the fact that all computers need to be rebooted frequently.

You need to bear in mind that there are several programs which don’t shut down completely even when you close them. Furthermore, many software programs tend to have memory leakage, and over a period of time this can have an adverse effect on your computer’s available memory. Obviously, when your computer is short on available memory it inevitably begins slowing down until it reaches a snail’s pace. By rebooting your computer you’ll be allowing it to reset its memory and you’d be surprised how this alone can result in your computer speeding up.

#2. Upgrade your memory

A computers available memory can be likened, albeit loosely, to the muscles of the computer. If you have weak, or low, memory, that is likely one of the biggest issues that you have concerning your slow PC. Anymore, 512MB RAM should be the bare minimum, and that’s only if you are running Windows XP or an earlier operating system; if you are using Windows 7, you need at least 1GB, and Windows Vista requires at least 1.5GB of memory. Ideally, though, you should consider having at least 2GB of memory in your PC if you have a 64-bit system, you play games, or you like to run more than a few applications simultaneously.

#3. System defrag

As you may well already know, if your hard drive is fragmented it results in your machine becoming inefficient. You can bet your bottom dollar that if you’ve not been using the built in defragment tool, you’ll be forfeiting a substantial amount of your computer’s potential with regards to accessing files and etc.

Bear in mind that Microsoft has included a defragmenting tool with all the operating systems for a very good reason, in that it should be used at least once every 30 days in order to ensure that your hard drive does not become overly fragmented. If you have not used in the tool for an extended period of time, you’ll notice to a substantial difference in speed once you do.

#4. Use a registry-cleaning program

Registry cleaners allow you to de-clutter your Windows registry. Which, if you dont know, your registry is like the brains of your computer. When you install or uninstall programs, add or remove drivers, etc, data is added to, and taken out of, your computers registry. However, sometimes programs do not uninstall correctly, or they leave information in the registry which is either just taking up space, or will cause conflicts with certain programs, which in turn can lead to a system slowdown and intermittent errors on your PC. Running a good registry cleaning tool every once in a while is recommended if you want to keep your PC at its optimal running state.

In many cases, even using a couple of these tips will help you to improve your PCs speed significantly. While just about everybody experiences a PC slowdown on occasion, its not a fun experience, especially when you think the only options are to format your PC or send your computer to the repair shop. By using the tips above, you will help to ensure that you can enjoy a speedier PC today, and hopefully, for many years to come.

Why It is Important to Fix a Corrupt Registry

September 28th, 2009
by Anthony Reedy

The registry holds all of your pc’s application details and system process information. It will save your settings and preferences for hardware and software. Registry information is stored in HKEY folders. Your system’s registry can become corrupted easily. Adware, viruses, and spyware can contribute to this. They will cause your registry files to become corrupt or introduce corrupt files to your system. Incorrectly installing or uninstalling a program can lead to registry errors. Problems will occur when the registry is cluttered with files that are no longer needed.

Windows registry errors can lead to many problems. You may experience poor system speed and performance, pop ups that cause your computer to freeze, hang, or even end up with the blue screen of death. Fixing a corrupt registry is essential. It is urgent even if you don?t frequently use your computer. This should be performed on every pc every once in a while.

Registry errors can be expensive to fix, or time consuming if you attempt to repair on your own. From the moment a new pc is used, the registry begins filling up. It is not possible for the registry to repair itself. Over time, left untreated, the problems will get worse. Freezes and crashes will happen more and more frequently, until you are no longer able to start your computer. You may have to get a new computer if the registry is not repaired in time.

Unless you understand how the registry is set up, it is not advisable to attempt a repair with a registry editor. Sometimes an expert is required to restore your pc after important files are deleted. Anyone can repair their registry with the proper tool.

You can find registry cleaners widely available on the internet. It will scan your registry and correct all issues. The software has the ability to detect files that should be removed, and will only delete them after you approve. Popular registry cleaning software includes Registry Easy and RegClean.

It is recommended that you scan your pc’s registry at least once every six months. Regular scans will enhance system performance and overall speed of your pc.

Is the Registry behind Your Computer Problems?

August 29th, 2009
by Jack Spencer

If you have a computer that is quickly responding to every command that you give to it, you’re probably very happy with the computer overall. Whenever a computer starts to give you problems and run more slowly, however, it can be a frustrating experience that none of us want to deal with. If you find yourself sitting at the computer for far too long every day, having a good running computer is paramount to your happiness and success.

One of the most important things for you to do in order to make the computing experience a good one is to keep Microsoft Windows running like a top. A common occurrence with Microsoft that can cause a number of different problems on your computer is whenever the registry either becomes corrupted or when duplicate lines of code occur on the inside of the registry. This can slow your computer down considerably, because it needs to sort through the extra information in order to get its instructions.

If you find that you are having a problem with the Windows registry, don’t necessarily assume that you have to pack up your computer and take it to the store in order to have somebody else fix it for you. The process of doing so is extremely time consuming but it can also really hits you in the wallet, and that’s something that none of us really want. There are a number of different things that you can do at home which may take care of the process for you without having to take it to the store.

You can use the same programs that are used by the professionals in the form of registry cleaners. One of the more difficult things is that there are so many available for download, it can be difficult to decide which one you are going to use. The one that we commonly recommend is known as RegTool, but there are also some ways for you to be able to do a little research and make a more informed decision on your own.

There are a vast number of review websites that are available online which can help you to find out what the end-users have to say about running this program. One of the things that you want to look for in one of these websites is that the information is coming from a variety of different sources.

Once you have decided on the program to use, you will be able to scan your computer for free using the download from their website. These scans are complete and it will give you a list of all of the different problems that you are experiencing within the Windows registry at that time. This can be a rather eye-opening experience.

As a final step, you simply need to allow the program to do its job and to get rid of all of the programs that it found in the first place. There are two different ways that this can occur, either as an automated process in which the program runs itself or you can walk in through the process and make any changes that are necessary on your own. A restart of your computer is mandatory and any changes that were made during the cleansing process will be initiated at that time. That’s all there is to it, and your computer should be running faster as a result.

Running Registry Toolkit Regularly Can Help Your Computer

August 26th, 2009
by Jack Spencer

One of the most important things and making sure that you get a job done correctly is free to have the proper tools available for you. This is especially the case whenever you are dealing with computer problems as they can be some of the more frustrating things that we have to deal with. It is true that computers are very convenient and most of us could not imagine not having one available but whenever they are not running properly, they are some of the most inconvenient things that we have.

One of the more common things that goes wrong with the computer is for the Windows registry to be corrupted. Any computer that is using the Windows operating system is going to rely heavily on this part of the computer and it is going to be accessed multiple times, some times in the second period whenever problems occur in the Windows registry, they become manifest in the way that our computer runs.

Some of the most common difficulties that occur as a result of the Windows registry problems are a slow running computer, Windows crashes and even freezing screens. Whenever these things occur, they not only cause us frustration, they can also ruin a lot of hard work that we may have gone through in order to get a document together. This ends up costing us time in the form of lost productivity.

Of course, there are a number of different things that you can do whenever you are having a problem with the Windows registry. One of the most common things that you can do is to download a registry cleaner and allow it to take care of the problems for you. You will have dozens of different choices whenever it comes to the cleaner that you are going to use on your computer but we would recommend that you try Registry Toolkit.

The first step of the process is to download Registry Toolkit off of the Internet and use the free scanning service in order to check your computer for corrupted lines and other problems in the registry. This may take a little bit of time but it will commonly be done in just a few minutes. You will then receive a list of all of the problems that it discovered on your computer.

The second step of cleaning your Windows registry is to allow Registry Toolkit to clean your computer automatically. All of the problems that were discovered during the initial scan will be taken care of. After this process has completed, you will be prompted to reboot your computer and you will typically notice that it is running much more smoothly when it restarts.

The final thing that needs to be done is for you to allow Registry Toolkit to run in the background and watch for any other problems that may be occurring in your Windows registry. This is one of the more important things that need to be done and if you simply allow the registry to become corrupted again, it may be more difficult to clean the second time around. Make sure that the program is running full time and you will be able to enjoy your computer full time as well.

What Exactly is a Registry Repair Cleaner?

August 11th, 2009
by Ryse Edwards

Many computer owners have no idea what a registry repair cleaner is or what it does, many individuals do not know there is even such a tool. In fact, many individuals have no idea how helpful a registry repair cleaner can be until they experience problems with their computer. However, when you make regular use of a registry cleaner you can avoid computer problems that deal with the registry.

Before you know what a registry repair cleaner does, you need to know what a registry is. If you are like most people and are running Microsoft Windows as your operating system; then you have a registry. The registry is a very integral part to the Windows operating system. In fact, Windows wouldn’t be able to run at all if there wasn’t a registry.

The registry is the location where Windows stores particular information data. It stores it there so it gains easy access to it whenever the system requires it. Without becoming too technical, the things that are stored there most often include some of the following:

Hardware drivers, System settings, system preferences, system configurations, information about applications that run at start up, software shortcuts, software installation information, etc…

The more you use your computer the more files and data get put into the registry. When you delete software or programs, you probably think once you delete it, it’s gone. Unfortunately, this isn’t always the case. Sometimes when you delete files or programs they still have registry information stored in the registry. This data and information is useless. It doesn’t exist on your computer anymore, but it is still occupying valuable space in the registry.

While your registry tries to cope with all of this, eventually it is going to have some adverse effects on the operating system. Your computer may start producing problems that you never encountered before. Sometimes, you’ll be lucky and there will be an actual error telling you there’s a problem with the registry. However, most of the time, the problems are much more subtle, and you may not know what is causing them.

Various registry problem symptoms can include:

The blue screen of death, which is an operating system crash, software or applications taking a long time to open or perhaps not running at all. Others may include, software or application crashes when the software or program tells you that there is an error and you need to shut it down. Even an overall slowing down of your computer can be a symptom.

This can be annoying, especially when you consider that, you can fix them or prevent them easily while using a registry repair cleaner. The design of this type of software is for cleaning a registry of any unrequited files and data. A registry repair cleaner can help you keep your computer operating system running in top shape when you use it regularly.

Making Your Computer Run like New Again

August 7th, 2009
by Jack Spencer

Do you remember the day that you first bought your computer home from the store? Most of us were so impressed with how quickly that it ran that we sat down and open and closed programs, just because it was so responsive. It may have stayed like that for a few months but eventually our computers begin to slow down and many of us contribute this to the fact that they are getting a little bit older. The fact of the matter is, however, that is not always the case.

There are so many different things that can happen to the computer which can make it run more slowly but one of the most common things is that errors start to compile inside of the Windows registry. You have probably heard about the registry before but you may never have ventured inside in order to take a look at what was there. That is probably a good idea because making a simple error inside of the Windows registry can render your computer useless.

The reason this is true is because the registry is called upon constantly whenever you’re running your computer and regardless of what it is that you are doing, the registry is going to be looked at. A good example of this is if you’re installing programs because data is going to be written to the registry in order to alert it to whatever needs to be done whenever the program starts. Data is also exchanged with the Windows registry whenever somebody opens or closes a program or even whenever something is downloaded off of the Internet.

A single problem in the Windows registry is not always going to cause these errors but it is whenever they compile over the course of time that the problems really occur. For example, you might have duplicate lines of code that are being sifted through every time the registry is accessed or the code may actually become corrupted. The result can not only be a slow computer, it may also be a computer that freezes up on you regularly and crashes.

If you are having these problems, the best thing that you can possibly do is to download the registrygenius program and to run on your computer. This is a free scan program that can be downloaded directly from their website and it will alert you to all the problems that are present on your computer within just a few minutes after running the initial scan.

From that point, you can allow the program to fix all the problems on its own or you can walk in through the process of fixing the problems individually. Most people simply allow it to run on its own and they end up with a clean computer that is running much better as a result.

The only other thing that is really necessary for you to do is to allow the program to run in the background on your computer regularly and look for additional errors that may be occurring. Although this is not necessary, it is something that can keep your computer running smoothly for the long term.

How to Choose a Good Registry Cleaner

July 8th, 2009
by John Edward

There are a number of different options available when choosing a registry cleaning program, just as there are for other PC optimization programs.

Maybe you’re looking for free software, and maybe you’re ok with spending a little bit of money, but you just need to know what to look for in a registry cleaner that really works.

The purpose of this article is to outline the bare-bone features of any registry cleaning program that you are thinking of using.

Some of the registry cleaners on the market only clean the “empty” registry files. However, some of the major culprits than cause overall instability, pop-up messages, and registry related errors are caused by “invalid” entries in the registry.

A registry entry, in some cases, contains the location of important files on your computer; files that certain applications need in order to function properly. If a registry cleaner manages to clean out the empty entries, yet leaves the invalid entries intact – that can affect your computer’s performance significantly.

There is no registry cleaner that works perfectly 100% of the time, even if the absolute best software has been purchased. This is not usually the fault of the program. It is usually caused by a corrupt registry or having installed or uninstalled a program that was poorly written at some point in the past.

If different applications begin having problems as a result of a recent registry cleaning it is important to have the ability to restore the registry to the state it was in prior to the cleaning. This is the reason that it is critical to choose a program that offers the ability to backup the registry prior to starting the cleaning process.

Registry cleaning can be compared to brain surgery in a way -it can be very finicky. Even computer pros back up the registry before any changes are made so it is easy to see that novices should be very vigilant and create a backup before making any changes to the system’s registry.

Keep in mind that this is a very short list of registry repair software features. Only the absolute basics where covered. There are additional features available with different registry repair programs that can be used to improve the security of the program as well as features that make its use very convenient. When you are searching for an efficient registry repair program, make sure you choose one that includes the two features discussed here. If you overlook these recommendations you will be wasting your time and also run the risk of setting yourself up for really big problems down the road.

A Free Registry Scan ” Why Not Get One?

July 3rd, 2009
by Ed Lathrop

I got a call from a disgruntled computer owner who told me her computer had become unbearably slow. Of course, the first question I had for her was to find out if she was using a virus scan program periodically.

Sometimes people will have one installed and use it but not know they have one at all. The reason for this is both Windows XP and Vista will keep annoying you until you activate the antivirus program that came with the computer when it was new. Then after you do, the program works on autopilot.

In this womans case she was protected against viruses. Also, her virus program was the best one I know of and it protects her computer against malicious types of spyware as well. Spyware will also slow down computer speed.

At this point, I felt strongly she should get her registry scanned to see if registry corruption was what was causing her computer slowness. She told me she did get a registry scan, it showed her registry was quite corrupted but she didnt buy the cleaning function of the registry cleaner because she didnt want to pay the price.

This conversation took place several weeks ago and I have no idea whether or not this woman has cleaned her registry yet. I do know cleaning out that much corruption would have been an excellent choice because even a small amount of corruption can slow down a computer quite a bit. On top of that, buying the license to activate the cleaning function comes with a very reasonable price tag.

You just cant let registry corruption accumulate on your hard drive because before long it will cause the operating system to shut down. After this happens, you may be looking at a reinstall.

Using a good registry cleaner wont assure you the computer will never have a big problem, but geez! Why hurry a catastrophic failure along? Then again, why anyone would put up with a really slow computer when a registry cleaning will make it fast again, I have no Idea.

Anyway, I had made my recommendation to this woman and it really is up to her what she wants to do with her money and her computer. So, I politely wished her the best and then hung up the phone.

If I had registry corruption on my computer but I couldnt afford a registry cleaner, I would not use the computer until I could get the registry cleaned. Registry corruption breeds more registry corruption. So, using this computer will eventually put it out like a light!
