LDS Missionary – The Truth Behind Mormon Missionaries

March 18th, 2010

There is no doubt that it is easy for others to be critical of another’s religion. There has been a great controversy over the Mormon religion which is officially known as the Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints. For a young person that is part of the Mormon missionary being in school and being of this it can be quite trying. Most often even those that are closest friends that are non-Mormon cannot understand why someone would want to be involved in such a religion that has such a on Orthodox doctrine.

Must be remembered that the young Mormon men are expected to take a missionary stance once they turn 19. One such individual that relates his story of being a young Mormon in school also relates this very statement of what he is being faced with.

This particular individual that was being prepared to become a missionary needed to know in his heart that he was doing the right thing. Naturally relying very much on the teaching in Scriptures what is considered written by their prophet Joseph Smith who was the individual who started the Mormon religion. This was based on a vision that he believed that he had and the commandment of God to start a new church.

The Mormon base their relationship with God on personal experiences and not on something that theology has taught. According to Joseph Smiths teaching is he feels the requirements are time, experience and thought for the religion this young individual were referring to here. After much study and praying felt that in his heart the book of Mormon was true. From that point on he spent several years teaching everyone that he met as this was part of his missionary responsibilities. These young missionaries must devote two years of their time to their missionary calling. This means that everything is put on hold it including their school and their career and they must also financially support themselves through this time. There is a great deal of animosity that they face during their missionary experience from nonbelievers.

Basically what the young missionaries will hang on to is the positive response that they get from some of the people that they approach. Their sole purpose is to look for new converts and to teach those that know nothing about the Mormon religion about what the book of Mormon is all about.

One of the things that they are steered away from is into getting into debates regarding religion. It is a strong belief that it is the missionary work that builds and strengthens the Mormon church. Many of these missionaries have the main goal to get people to understand and give their religion chance rather than making an opinion without having the knowledge on which they are basing their feelings on. what the Mormon discrepancies are based on. Perhaps things that went on in the beginning of the religion have since changed but the stigma has carried through.

Discover the truth behind the mormon lds missionary. This is an overview of the lds mission and what they stand for. The truth will shock you!

Making A Difference With B1G1 Transactional Giving

January 16th, 2010

B1G1 (Buy One Give One) partners businesses with charitable cause right around the world so that every business sale makes a difference somehow, somewhere, every second, every day. And it does much more than that. It adds a powerful marketing ‘engine’ building your own attractiveness.

Michael Porter, probably the globe’s most respected business strategist says this: “I used to see this area of corporate social philanthropy as the last thing on my agenda 10 years ago, but now I agree that social and economic issues are intertwined. Corporate philanthropy – or corporate social responsibility – is becoming an ever more important field for business. Today’s companies ought to invest in corporate social responsibility as part of their business strategy to become more competitive.”

Everyone we speak with about Buy 1 GIVE 1 gets it in a heart beat. It’s an idea that totally makes sense. And it’s an idea whose time has come.

You can put your hand up to make a continuing difference and literally play a part, not just in leaving a legacy, but also in transforming our globe. It could be the best business and personal choice you’ve ever made. After all you will leave a legacy the question is : will it be one of consumption or one of choice.

Bill Gates has become key to this paradigm shift, calling for ‘Creative Capitalism’ in response to the vital question, he shares in TIME Magazine:

“How can we most effectively spread the benefits of capitalism and the huge improvements in quality of life it can provide to people who have been left out?”

Buy1GIVE1 is about Sharing the Joy of Giving; and giving, results from having gratitude for what we have.

Remember – you don’t ‘get’ giving till you get giving.

Eight Steps Of Effective Giving

January 9th, 2010

A new development is revolutionizing many lives in the hamlets of India by bringing brightness where there used to be blackness.

The New York Times published a piece named, “Husk Power for India”. Power, which is common in the lives of most in advanced countries, is a rare bonus in far-flung areas of underdeveloped countries. What was once cattle feed is now used to generate power – rice husks.

Being brought up in the pastoral Bihar State, Manoj Sinha knew what it was like to be without light at night. Being an engineer with Intel Corporation he had all the competence to bring a lifelong idea to fruition. He led the creation of his power generation equipment from rice husks and other wastes from farms and now he sells power to rural areas across India.

Sinha is what could be called a social entrepreneur because he feels business is a solution to key social issues. “Business leaders must realise that the world’s poor need investments more than handouts,” he says, adding, “these are customers, not victims.”

The article motivated me to think about offering things in a different way that made me ask myself, “what is the most perfect form of giving?” Is it edification, commerce or disaster aid? There are so many ways to create a difference. One way of giving can seem more productive or practical than other ways depending on the way it is given expression, viewed or put into practice.

I then came to delineate there were eight segments to giving as a way to see this. So, let me chart out the eight differences; which in effect are often ’stages’ of giving as well.

Stage one: Necessity – saving and helping others who are afflicted by natural catastrophe, contagious diseases or other unmanageable conditions.

Stage two: Relief – providing relief from long-standing hunger, poverty, diseases, handicaps or discrimination which otherwise would continue or worsened because of the lack of information, education or resources.

Phase three: Curing and defending – morally, bodily and spiritually. Many people carry scars that may be invisible but strongly constricting their lives. Giving the cure to release the long-standing suffering creates more chances for them while giving necessary defense gives them a feeling of security.

Phase four: Edification – giving better edification, awareness and skill imparting to create empowered and innovative solutions to generating resources while helping people to discover their exclusive talent to succeed.

Stage five: Inspired investment – giving a help, capital or resources to those who have great talent to alter the situation. This gets used many times as the resources become more and passed on to other people who again produce more out of the prospects given.

Stage six: Sustainability – working together involving the people in the local environment, creating sustainable community – environmentally and socially.

Stage seven: Empowerment – sanctioning and influencing the people to set free their true capability and drive to make a difference. In this group of offering, the aim of offering changes from ‘giving to those who are in need’ to ‘giving people an opening to give to others’ and to the whole group.

Stage eight: Loving – just doing whatever we feel to do to love and care for others. No strategy or expected outcome exists in this stage of giving. ‘Giving’ does not even exist here in the traditional sense of the word, as there is no sense of possession or judgment or desire to change anything. This is where we do not even have to think about anything, we give as a part of our own joyful experience.

What we also perceive is that at each one of these eight stages of giving there are distinctive things that the donor gets back.

One: Sense of relationship

Two: Sense of wellbeing

Three: reprieve from ache (our own)

Four: Gratification for our own understanding, talents and situations

Five: Long-term sense of contribution and satisfaction for our own life

Six: Improved environment for our own life and for the lives for all those we love and care for

Seven: Soul gratifying encouragement and devotion to our own purpose

Eight: Care

Giving has many levels and experiences depending on the giver and the receiver. And the ’stages’ do not describe which one is more important than the other. All are necessary.

I was gifted with an experience early in 2008 while travelling with a group of dedicated entrepreneurs through India to see how we could be more effective in our giving. I was blessed to have one particular experience that made me think about what ‘effective giving’ really meant.

We were travelling in a small town one day. Four of us had just called a taxi to take us to another nearby town. We dealt with the driver cautiously as our hotel staff had forewarned us about the possible swindle when they see that we were not local.

We stopped in front of the local train station for a short break on the way. While the others disappeared off to use the bathroom, I started a conversation with our taxi driver standing next to the taxi. With very limited English and a full smile exposing his blackened front teeth, he told me that he had a house on the outskirts of the town and he had a young wife and two children who went to the local school – I started to feel connected to him.

I patted him on the back for having an affectionate family and told him that I also had two kids of the same age as his. When the others came back the driver instantly asked us to come to his house for food. I thought it was just a formality he wanted to convey at first. However, after leaving us at the centre of the town, he was particular that he would wait for us till we were done with our traveling around the town. And he actually did. I was in fact quite taken aback to see him still standing by the side of the road next to his taxi even after an hour. We hopped back into the taxi and he whizzed off up the road to where his home was.

When we reached there we were really quite taken aback to see how he was living. It was more or less similar (if not worse) to the standard of people dwelling in slums we had visited before. From the gleaming new taxi he was driving, who could have thought this

As he drove into the narrow unsealed street between small houses that were made with roughcast concrete blocks and mud painted walls, we almost regretted about saying yes to his invite. For a brief moment I felt pangs of guilt. “How could I go to this man’s home who didn’t seem to have anything and I didn’t even bring any food or gifts for his family”, I thought.

As we went inside his house, we saw a vessel and a small stove on the floor. His timid young wife raised her head in surprise and withdrew into the small store room (a cupboard size) adjacent to it. As I took in the scene, I saw the neighbours residing next door giving her a few cups across the broken down concrete fence. The young couple did not even have sufficient teacups in their house. There was a single room fitted with one single bed and a pretty old galvanised box near it.

The taxi driver quickly pulled out three hand-woven rugs from the chest and rolled them out on the small patch of mud floor putting one on the bed.

Steaming cups of tea and hot snacks arrived soon. Both his kids as well as kids from the neighbouring houses came to see us and remained at the doorway. The six of us could just squeeze into the tiny room. I was curious to know where his children were sleeping. I thought maybe they had another space somewhere. To my astonishment, he just pointed at the chest and said with his happy smile that it was their bed.

He happily told us that he was an amateur dancer in the town and showed us some plaques on the sill above the bed. Enthusiastic to show us his dancing proficiency, he ran outside all at once. From somewhere music came flowing into the tiny room. He had no apparatus for music within the house, it was coming from outside. Surprised, I looked around to see him reversing his vehicle towards the back of his house keeping the doors open with the radio of the car blaring forth!

The time quickly passed (dancing together and having more cups of tea) and it was finally time to say thank you for their great hospitality and head on our way. As we stood up to leave and thank him and his wife, he reached to the best looking rug on the bed, rolled it up and handed it to us. It was one of the only few things he had. I could not believe he offered it to us.

We all politely declined his gift and walked out saying goodbye to all the people waving at us. We got confused about this whole thing. Should we have given some money to the family as their life obviously looked very limited? Should we have accepted his prized gift?

As I was thinking about this awe-inspiring experience after a few days, I considered our begging off his gift. He looked crest-fallen that we didn’t accept the gift. It wasn’t only the rejecting of the gift that remained in my mind.

I realised that the feeling of restlessness I felt was in reality the result of seeing him as less privileged. I was feeling that I couldn’t probably receive anything from someone who owned too little.

But did he really have so little? Maybe he had more – a lot more.

Maybe the real present we could have given him then was to receive his present in utmost deference and thankfulness.

All acts of giving and receiving are necessary for us to fill our world with abundance and fulfillment equally for both giver and receiver. We can start doing this instead of judging and justifying one over another. The pure act of giving and receiving requires no further explanation.

Manoj Sinha’s words echo in my mind once again, “these are customers, not victims.” I can imagine the smiling faces of the villagers who are now proud to have electricity in their villages and the children who now can read books and learn in their homes at night.

Accurate Psychic Reading – 5 Things That You Shouldn’t Expect

October 6th, 2009
by Tana Hoy

Having an accurate psychic reading can be a life-altering experience, it can provide you with a better insight and perspective into your life at the moment. It can also advise you on how you can move on and follow the right course. Nevertheless, people can have numerous misguided and unreasonable expectations concerning accurate psychic readings.

Here Are 5 Things That You Should Not Expect From An Accurate Psychic Reading:

1. An accurate psychic reading doesnt have to include the winning lottery numbers.

The reason for this is that knowing the winning lottery combination for today or next week won’t magically erase all your problems, not because your psychic can’t do it. Consulting a psychic and getting a reading is not about this, it is not about finding the easiest way to face the challenges in your life. You will only get frustrated if this is what you have hoped for.

2. An accurate psychic reading won’t include promises to bring back your ex-boyfriend or ex-girlfriend.

Remember that free will is a gift that every one of us have. Know that your psychic can’t mess with free will, he/she can’t force a reunion between you and your ex. Your psychic will rather guide you to try and mend a broken relationship. If this can’t be achieved at the moment, your psychic will help you heal and go forward.

3. An accurate psychic reading wont tell you to do something against your will.

An accurate psychic reading will allow you to delve deeper into your personality. It will also shed light into whatever issues or problems that you may currently be facing. The right path that you should follow will be clearer to you after having a psychic reading. Though, what you do with the information or insights you gained from the reading, is up to you. Whatever happens in the future will be the result of what your actions will be from this day on. A psychic reading can only guide you in making the right decisions.

4. An accurate psychic reading cannot and will not have 100% accuracy.

Do not expect this from your psychic reading, or you will only be disappointed. A psychic claiming 100% accuracy is a fraud. A good psychic will have about 90 to 95% accuracy. Knowing this, do not test or try to trick your psychic by giving wrong information. It can only hinder the process in giving you an accurate psychic reading. Be as cooperative as you can, this is very important!

5. An accurate psychic reading won’t always tell you what you want to hear.

Be cautious of psychics who always seem to tell you what you want to hear. An accurate reading will tell you the truth. It is better to hear this than to feel like everything is going your way, only to be disappointed at the end. A reputable psychic will help you accept the truth, and won’t let you believe everything is okay when it’s not.

Knowing what to expect before getting a psychic reading is a huge advantage. You will only be confounded if you harbor false hopes about getting an accurate psychic reading. After dispensing all your unrealistic expectations, an accurate psychic reading can be an effective and a useful instrument that can help you realize your true potential and help you find your true happiness.

Psychic Readings – What Are The Different Types

October 5th, 2009
by Tana Hoy

A psychic reading is a very helpful tool that can guide you in making the right decisions in your life. It will allow you to see your life in a deeper light, not only your present situation, but your past and future as well. There are various forms of psychic readings. Below are the common types and how they are done:

Aura or Energy Reading

By observing and reading your aura, a psychic reading will let you look into your spiritual energy system. A psychic using aura reading will take into account the colors of your aura, and will use these for interpretation. From here, your psychic can get insights into past experiences that may have affected you as well as your desires for the future. An aura reading can empower you and let you realize your highest potential.

Psychometry

With this type of psychic reading, you will be asked to bring an object that belongs to you. This object will preferably be something that you always wear, such as a piece of jewelry, glasses, or a favorite item. The psychic will hold this object to pick up on the history of the people who have come in contact with it. Through this, the psychic will be able to gain information about you, and insights into events that have occurred to you.

Tarot Card Reading

Using the tarot in a psychic reading is very popular. By using a deck of cards, a psychic can help you find answers to every issue in your life, which can be about love and relationships, or it can also pertain to your career. Each tarot card has a meaning, as well as the positions of each card. Your psychic will lay out the cards, and interpret them for you. Getting a tarot card reading can be a very memorable experience as it can provide you a means to know yourself better, and it can also allow you to take a peek into your future.

Numerology

Numerology is a psychic reading that makes use of numbers. These numbers can be derived from your birth date and certain numbers assigned to your name. By using these numbers, this type of psychic reading gives you a better understanding of your personality. It may also shed light into your present situation and what you may be experiencing now. But, not only that, numerology can also let you know what to expect from your future.

Palm Reading

Palmistry as a form of psychic reading, makes use of the palm of your hand and all its creases, lines, mounts, and bumps. Every little detail on your palm will be studied, including the shape of your hand, the length of the lines, and many more. Your palm contains a lot of information about you, and can also possibly tell you about your future.

Rune Reading

Casting runes or stones with special runic characters on it is a psychic reading that has been present for a very long time. Each runic character has a special meaning, and the way that these characters are casted can help you discern the future.

Psychic Reading By A Psychic Medium

Psychic readings done by psychic mediums are the most accurate type of psychic reading that you can get. A psychic medium obtains information from the highest spiritual source. He/she is able to connect with the spirit world, including the angels. The mediums act as translators of messages that the spirit guides convey to them. That’s why a psychic medium does not need to use additional tools such as tarot cards or runes to answer your questions. This psychic reading can also be performed anyplace.

A professional psychic may have one or more types of psychic reading that they specialize in. You have to pick from these options to get your psychic reading, which can be a profoundly effective way to gain insight into your situation.

Does God Still Speak to us Today?

October 3rd, 2009
by Matt Tague

Many people want to know if God still speaks to us today. The Christian answer comes down to two simple alternatives: Yes or no. There are lots of intelligent people out there who disagree on this subject. My own answer is an unqualified YES. Allow me to tell you why.

We could all think of examples of TV preachers or a wierdo who tell everyone that God speaks through them, and we are all very skeptical about that. But, just for argument’s sake, let’s throw those extreme examples out and reason the matter out more closely. Let’s ask the question, “Does God really speak to believers today apart from the scriptures?”

The group that says “no” usually points to examples of people who have been hurt by those that said that God was speaking through them. When a life is hurt because another person told them something supposedly from God, it seems to give God a bad image to the person who was hurt. But as powerful an emotional argument as that is, is that still any reason to believe that God doesn’t speak to us today?

Consider this: throughout time, God has used two tools in the life of his church. The Bible and the Holy Spirit. We all know people who interpret the Bible wrongly but we don’t throw it out because of that. Just like this, some people don’t know how to interpret what the Holy Spirit is saying or doing, but we shouldn’t come to the conclusion that he doesn’t speak anymore because of this.

The Bible and the Holy Spirit work together in our lives. We don’t possess a 100% fool proof method of interpreting what the Bible says or what the Holy Spirit says, especially about thorny ethical or moral questions. But just because we can’t be 100% sure of what they say all the time doesn’t mean that they are silent. We can’t be sure of what our best friends say some of the time, but we don’t write them off because we can’t always understand them. The fact that there are abuses or disagreements about what the Holy Spirit is saying doesn’t mean that we should cut off all belief that he speaks today.

A passage from the Bible that supports the speaking role of the Holy Spirit is John 14:6. “I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate who will never leave you. He is the Holy Spirit who leads you into all truth.” If the Holy Spirit really is God inside of us, then God speaks to us. The Holy Spirit is our comforter, encourager and helper. If he fulfills all these roles in our lives, it makes sense that he speaks to us as he helps us in so many ways. Listen to his voice.

How A Psychic Journal Can Be A Great Psychic Development Tool

October 1st, 2009
by Tana Hoy

You ARE a psychic being. You are a natural psychic. Perhaps you are not yet able to make predictions or make things move, but you are a psychic being nonetheless. You are journeying through life with the desire and the intention to live it to the fullest – to experience its joys, learn its lessons, and receive all the gifts it has to offer.

Your inner nature drives you. This inner, psychic self emanates with perfect love, happiness, and wisdom. You feel it deep within because it is part of your nature. As long as you acknowledge this and let it guide you, you will enjoy and understand whatever you encounter in your life’s journey.

As you go through life, you will sometimes need to choose a path. Signposts are present to give you a better picture of what to expect from each option that you have. These signposts may be in the form of advice from a parent, a mentor, or an elder. It may come in the form of a situation which another person is going through. These signposts can provide you with guidance when making choices.

There are spiritual signposts in every corner you turn, but you are not assured to pick the right path or end up in your desired location if you cannot connect and consult with your inner self. Signposts serve as guides, not as answers. Your answer still lies within you. They come from you because it is this inner nature, your inner self, which aims to bring you to where goodness and perfection awaits.

Keeping a psychic journal is an effective way for you to be in constant communication with your inner self. A keeper of your innermost thoughts and reflections, this journal also becomes your companion. Whenever you need to take note of a long train of thoughts or need to consult your inner wisdom, this journal is where your inner nature is free to express itself.

You might wonder what to write in a journal. Your psychic journal can be your personal record and thought keeper for the following:

1. Notes on Your Psychic Readings

Keep a record of all your psychic readings. Take note of all the advice given to you, predictions that have come true, and action plans that you need to follow through to address any recurring issues.

2. Working With Your Psychic Ability

When you work on developing your psychic ability, you will definitely have observations or realizations as your go through various processes. Feel free to write about them. Highlight your progress. Include challenges and watch yourself get through them.

3. Psychic Ability Results

Keeping track of your psychic achievements is a remarkable way to motivate and further inspire yourself. This will also help you set more specific goals when you do more exercises and techniques. This will contribute a lot to your continued growth.

4. Unexpected Psychic Events

Everything that contributes to your psychic growth and development may be included in your journal. Having an unusual psychic experience, running into a famous psychic, or a charged object, are only a few of the many possible topics you can write about.

5. Psychic Train of Thoughts

Write about all your thoughts, concerns, apprehensions, joys, or anything that is in your mind. Even when your mind is filled with questions and wonder, it can still present you with answers and wisdom.

More than just being a vessel for your thoughts and experiences, your psychic journal also serves as a personal reference of information and guidance which you will need in the future. There may be things you have written about in the past that may suddenly contain solutions to a current problem.

While your journal may seem like pages and pages of entries which you will have to sift through whenever you need to remember something, know that it is also similar to the unfolding of a map – your map to the future. You will find that the signposts have been there all along, guided by your inner psychic.

Upon witnessing the changes in church doctrine away from Mr. Armstrongs teachings, Mr. Flurry plunged into an intensive study of the Bible to seek the cause of the betrayal he was witnessing. The result was a manuscript titled Malachis Message to Gods Church Today. Originally written in the spring of 1989, when the new direction in the Worldwide Church of God was, to many of its members, not very perceptible, the book was primarily intended to alert the ministry of the WCG as to what was really happening, and secondarily to alert the Church membership. When an early draft of the book was brought to the attention of WCG leadership in Pasadena, California, Gerald Flurry and his assistant, John Amos, were fired from their positions as WCG ministers. Mr. Flurry immediately founded the Philadelphia Church of God on December 7, 1989 in Edmond, Oklahoma.

After the Worldwide Church of God ceased printing Armstrongs writing and existing supplies of his major works were exhausted, Mr. Flurry successfully defended the Philadelphia Church of Gods right to publish and freely distribute 19 of his works, obtained through a six-year legal battle against the WCG, which attempted to use the books own copyrights to keep them out of print.

Gerald Flurry has visited over 20 countries in such critical areas as the Middle East, South Africa, Europe and Asia, meeting with key international news analysts. He has authored over 30 books including Malachis Message to Gods Church Today, The God Family Vision, and The Last Hour.

As presenter of the Key of David television program, which he began in 1993, Gerald Flurry examines world events in the light of Bible prophecy and proclaims the soon-coming return of Jesus Christ to Earth — to save mankind alive and usher-in the peaceful, happy, wonderful World Tomorrow. Through broadcast, print and personal appearance campaigns he also prophesies again in the tradition of Herbert W. Armstrong a sobering warning of the unprecedented world troubles just ahead, which will precede Christs second coming.
