5 Haunting Tips For A Great Twilight Party

October 6th, 2009
by Aaron Hu

This fall a lot of “Twi-Hards” will be waiting with baited breath for the release of New Moon in theatres. The movie continues the story of Bella and Edward as their relationship faces a new set of challenges with Bella ending up in a love triangle between her, her werewolf friend Jacob, and Edward and that is just the beginning. If you are planning your own themed party based on the movie you are probably wondering what you can do to set your party apart from the rest. Here are some great ideas for Twilight themed party decorations that will be sure to make you the envy of your friends.

The very first thing you need to do is pick a venue. Will you be having a house party or doing it at a public place? This will help you know what you have to work with when decorating. Normally a smaller place is good because you won?t have to spend as much on decorations. So if you are just having a get together with your gal pals then go for intimate. If it is an all out bash go for a more public venue with added event services. This will make planning that much easier.

The next thing to think about is the Theme. New Moon is the part of the Twilight franchise where we get introduced to werewolves. However they are not like the traditional kind and are rooted in Native American legend. This alone can give you a lot of interesting ideas to work with as you start decorating. Of course your basic colors will be dictated by the book covers so you will be using red, black, and white. As I mentioned before the werewolves in New Moon are Native Americans so look online for great items you can use to decorate the venue and mix with more common Twilight themed gear. Of course try to use movie posters, posters of the book cover, and life sized cut-outs of the actors as items to decorate with. You can also use more standard party gear like balloons and streamers.

Another thing to think about is favors. Once again movie promotional merchandise is your friend. You can also go with edible favors. Since is near the time for Halloween you should be able to find some great Twilight themed candy. If you are not sure what everyone will like try having a candy bar and get nice favor boxes to put them in. You can also use other fall favorites like candied apples and pumpkin flavor pastries. You can also give stationary, diaries, pens, or party toys such as fake fangs with wolf and vampire themes.

Another thing to take into account is activities. If the party is going to be a sleep over watching Twilight on DVD or reading New Moon are great suggestions. Also try to look up cool movie themed games online. You will be amazed at some of the innovative games and activities you will find.

Of course a party is not a party without food. First try to serve some of the foods mentions in the Twilight series such as lasagna, pizza, or spaghetti. You can also have vampire themed desserts like vanilla ice cream covered in strawberry syrup. You can also have a Twilight Cake with an edible image topper.

3 Unique Suggestions For Twilight Party Decorations

October 6th, 2009
by Aaron Hu

With the release of the film adaptation of “New Moon” coming out this November, Twilight mania is finding new life this fall. If you are a devoted fan of the series, take advantage of this time to plan your own themed party based on your favorite series. If you are a newbie and are just looking for the next hot things for parties this fall, here is some background info. Twilight is a book series by Stephenie Meyer, that is about the romance between a teenager and vampire who goes to her school. The couple has to struggle with their own insecurities and the strength of their feelings while also dealing with the consequences of a mortal being privy to the secret world of the supernatural. Whether you are a fan or newcomer, here are some great party tips to help you get started.

Use the book covers of the series as inspiration for your decoration colors. If you look at the official covers for the Twilight series, the colors used are white, black, and red. Use these colors in all your party decorations from balloons and streamers to centerpieces and wall decorations. To take it a step further, get blown up posters of the covers and use them as wall decorations.

The next place to draw inspiration from is the Movie adaptation of Twilight. The movie did a great job picking the cast to best embody the characters in the book. A great idea is to use movie posters with images of the characters also as decorations. You take it up a notch with life sized cut-out of the characters. This way you can have your guests take photos with them. Another innovative idea is to take promotional pictures from the film and photo shop yourself in with your favorite characters. These will be certain to impress your guests, especially if they are fans.

Another decoration idea is to use the shapes from the book covers to guide your decorations. A great example I saw was a centerpiece that used Tulips and stemmed apples on a red and white chess board set. These are three of the main images on the book covers. You can also take it a step further with apple shaped candles. Your guests will feel like they stepped into the book covers.

Another design idea comes straight from the first book, Twilight. At the end of the first book Bella and Edward go to prom. So try thinking about copying the prom look from the movie and as describe in the book to add extra glitz to your event. You will need more floral arrangements formed in arches and scattered around the party area. You will need twinkle lights to add to the atmosphere.

Music in itself can be a decoration adding to the mood of the event. A great place to start is to go the Stephenie Meyer website. She has playlists of all the songs that she used inspire her as she wrote the books. You can also use the movie soundtrack. Don?t stop there. Also add tracks of your favorite songs that you wished were part of the soundtrack. A personal favorite I think would be appropriate is Evanescence. You can also borrow from the sound tracks of other shows like Moonlight. This show while it was cancelled has one of the best TV soundtracks I?ve ever come across.

Great Ideas For Throwing A New Moon Themed Twilight Party

October 5th, 2009
by Andrea McClure

One of the biggest movies releases this fall will be the movie adaptation of New Moon. New Moon is the second installation in the wildly popular Twilight series. The series is based on four novels by author, Stephenie Meyers and is about the challenging romance between a human girl, Bella Swan, and a vampire Edward Cullen. In the second installation Bella is abandoned by Edward and a love triangle develops with far reaching consequences as she gets close to her child hood friend Jacob Black who is revealed to be a werewolf. This fall celebrate the release of this movie at your birthday, Halloween, or movie release party. A great way to do so is a have a New Moon themed party with Twilight Party supplies and favors. Here are some great suggestions to get you started as you start planning your event.

First off the theme for New Moon is vampires versus werewolves. If you have seen movies like Van Helsing or Underworld you know that vampires and werewolves are mortal enemies. In New Moon it?s no different and Bella is caught in the middle. For decorations you can use movie posters of actors in the Twilight movie franchise. Try to use posters of Jacob Black and Edward Cullen to decorate the walls of your party location. You can also get life sized cut-outs of the characters for your guests to take pictures with. Another thing to do is to use the imagery of the book cover. The image on the cover is a tulip so use them freely in decorating the venue. You can use them in centerpieces and other decorations.

For food you can do a lot of different things. One great idea is to have wolf shaped chocolates and cookies. Also try to find similar themed candies online. Of course since this is also a book where we meet Italian vampires serve staples like lasagne, pizza, and spaghetti and meatballs with extra sauce. Also don?t forget to have red drinks like cranberry juice and Cool-Aid. You can also serve moon shaped snacks as well in honor of the book?s title.

Another thing to consider while you are planning your party is the music. You can go to Stephenie Meyer?s website and get a playlist of the songs she listened to as she wrote New Moon. If you need more music extrapolate by finding more music by the artists on the playlists. This will help add variety. Another good idea is to mix in some top 40 hits to provide some great dance music.

Of course you also have to have great party favors. There are several options available. For example you can give wolf and moon bracelet charms to keep with the theme. You can also give promotional items from the movie like posters, pins, or pens. Of course you can also go with edible favors. Try to get twilight themed candies or make red velvet cupcakes. These will be great hits as gifts for your guests.

Last but not least try to come up with activities that everyone can enjoy. A great idea is to have trivia games based on the book. You can read lines from the book where either vampires or werewolves used their abilities and have guests guess which powers are werewolf powers and which were vampire powers.

Sourcing Pricing Guns Online

September 28th, 2009
by Shaun R Tillby

A useful item in shops, stores and retail houses is the pricing gun. These are an excellent device that save time and release staff for other duties and removes the need for items to be individually priced by hand. For business owners and managers wishing to buy new ones, or replace old pricing guns, the search for a supplier on the internet is a good place to begin.

Many suppliers now have their own websites, which not only display what they have to sell, but also allows you to buy online. If you are using this method to make a purchase, then you will obviously want to find the best value kit and the most reliable supplier.

While purchasing pricing guns, or any other items for that matter, the net,is very convenient – it avoids you or one of staff having to personally visit the suppliers premises. This saves you time and the cost of getting there. But there is a downside. If ordering on the net you will not be physically able to handle the items you are buying, or, of course, try them out. This may not be a problem if the gun is one you have already used, but if it is a brand not known to you it means you could be buying a product based purely on a description on the website.

Some suppliers websites may have a help or contact line that enables you to ask a representative about the products. You may prefer this way to purchase the goods over the phone rather than buying them online on the website. Speaking direct to your supplier will also allow you to enquire about discounts.

The beauty of ordering your items on the internet is that you are able to view a wider range of suppliers, some of which you might never have known existed. By visiting several different websites, you give yourself a much better chance of getting value for your order.

It also gives you the opportunity to look at the range of products from suppliers you may never have dealt with before and gain even better deals for your business.

It is obviously very important that you deal with companies who can guarantee a quick turnaround from ordering to delivery. Also you need to be certain of regularity of supply as well. By dealing on the internet you are more likely to find suppliers who can guarantee this, as well selling you the best value pricing guns. A phone number displayed on your pricing gun suppliers site will enable you to contact them for details as well as ironing out any problems that might arise.

The internet is an important tool in helping you find pricing gun suppliers and securing a good deal for the the goods you order.

Ways To Spice Up Bachelorette Party Planning With Great Locations And Gifts

September 28th, 2009
by Andrea McClure

A bachelorette party is the celebration that the prospective bride has with her girlfriends before the wedding day. It is a time for her to have some girl bonding time with her close friends and family. Normally the party is just for close friends, family, and members of the bridal party. The honor of planning this event normally falls on you, the maid of honor so the responsibility is yours to plan a great party for the bride. Now to make it one of a kind, try to make it something that the bride will truly enjoy. We all know the stereotypes from TV and movies, the wild night out the flirting with boundaries and the last fling. In reality these are all deal breakers with serious consequences so it probably is not a good idea to make the bride doubt her decision at the last minute. This does not mean that the party has to be boring, but that you take into account the person that the bride is. If she is a person that can handle wilder entertainment go for it. If not, try for something of a different tenor and flavor of excitement. Taking this into account is especially important when considering the location of the party and the gift choices. Here are some suggestions and ideas to help get you started on planning a fun and unforgettable party.

A road trip is a great idea. Everyone remembers the thrill and excitement of their first long distance road trip without their parents and with a good set of friends. It is an opportunity to go somewhere new that you have never been to before and is a great way to bond with friends as you deal with the unpredictable on your trip. Use this trip to give the bride her last taste of the single life with a trip to major destination like New York or Las Vegas. In deciding where to go there are several factors to consider. First think back to conversations you have with the future newlywed about where she would like to go. Also it might be guided by activities that she never got to do yet. This is a great place to give you ideas as you can look for a destination that specializes in those particular activities. Since this is a trip then plan for time you are going to spend on the trip. Make sure to talk with the bride’s family and groom to know when the majority of planning can be finished so you can have enough time for travel to and from the chosen destination before the actual wedding. Also think of the activities that you can do there as well as other fundamentals like lodging and food.

Another great idea is a favorite restaurant. This is great especially for the more laidback type of person who is getting married. Choose somewhere she feels comfortable at and enjoys spending time. A favorite restaurant is perfect because food is readily available and you can make reservations ahead of time. It will also give a higher probability of surprising her as you can more easily hide the surprise of a bachelorette party behind the invitation of a quiet dinner. With the location the downside is that depending on the venue the activities can be limited. So try to think of a place that allows for at the bare minimum conversation and has something like a dance floor or some other facility to accommodate large parties and activities.

Another great location is a place that specializes in activities and games like an arcade, sports complex, or obstacle course. The fun will be in competition or simply doing a “girl power” activity like rock climbing. The success of this location depends on the person but this is definitely something for the active type of person.

Now, we can talk about gift ideas. You can say that the bachelorette party is the mirror image of the bridal shower gift. It normally has something to do with the more intimate parts of the wedded couple’s relationship. So it is okay to go with the traditional gifts like underwear, racy sleepwear and the like. This is probably the one area where you can tow the line a bit and embarrass the bride or amuse her.

Another gift idea is to simply get her things that she will enjoy. Useful wedding gifts like a bath set or a certificate to a spa are excellent ideas. Make sure it is something that best matches her likes and dislikes and you will surely come up with success.

Finding Price Guns On The Internet

September 27th, 2009
by Shaun R Tillby

Pricing guns are important items on any retailer’s shopping list. They release staff for more important duties as it releases them from the drudgery of having to stick price labels by hand for each individual item. If you need to buy some pricing guns, a good place to start looking is on the internet.

You will find that a good many of companies who supply pricing guns have their own websites. You will be able to see the guns they have on offer and maybe even be able to purchase online by inputting your details and credit card number. But don’t just deal with the first supplier you visit online. The internet gives you the opportunity to shop around.

The beauty of searching for supplies, including pricing guns, on the internet is its pure convenience. You can source supplies without leaving your desk. The internet also gives you the opportunity to look at a wide range of suppliers. There is a problem though. By just visiting suppliers’ websites you are not giving yourself the chance to lay hands on the products before buying them.

On some suppliers websites you may have to order on line, stating your order and then entering your credit card details. Some may have a helpline where you can put in an order over the telephone and ask any relevant questions about the price gun you are purchasing. You may even be able to ask if there are any other discounts available that are not stated on the website.

One advantage of viewing a supplier’s website is that you can view the full range of goods on offer, some which you may not have been aware of. By searching through more than one website you will improve the opportunity of securing a better deal.

Also by using the internet you are able to widen your choice of pricing gun suppliers to deal with. Instead of dealing with companies within say, a 50 mile radius, you can choose from any within the country.

As well as finding the least expensive options possible, you will want to buy from a company which can guarantee a reasonably short delivery time. Delivery times, and costs, should be stated on the website. If they are not, a call to the company should give you the information you need.

The internet has revolutionised the way we purchase products, and it will also aid you in finding the best value pricing guns.

Your Wedding Can Be A Unique One

September 24th, 2009
by Andrea McClure

The most important day of your life is coming up. Your head is swimming with memories of weddings you have been to or weddings you have seen on TV. In all of them there are things you remember and more often than not they are little details. There is the saying “the devil is in the details” but so are the angels. Even the smallest thing like place card holders can be memorable and add a special touch. For instance placecard holds that echo the garden theme of the wedding and that is just the tip of the iceberg. There are so many touching things you can do to make your wedding special and unique.

Many of the special and unique touches you can add involve breaking tradition and using family or friends in ways not normally done. One such thing is having both parents escort the bride and groom down the aisle. In Jewish weddings it is common but more and more non-Jews are opting for doing it that was so that neither parent is left out. There is another tradition that fell out of favor for a brief while but is making a happy come back is the Father/Bride dance. If you think back though child hood the perfect song will come to you making it all that much more special. Another way to bring in the family is to decorate the cake table with the wedding pictures of the parents, grandparents, siblings. If you still have room use Aunts, Uncles, the gardener, or whoever. It is your wedding so you get to set the rules.

A nice idea for the rehearsal dinner is to have a blessing. When couple discuss this they will almost always come up with the same name. Do make sure you give them plenty of warning. Nobody likes to get caught with their pants down on such an occasion. Now the best man always gives the first toast but there is no reason the groom can’t give the second one. He is speaking for himself and the bride and he should toast the guests.

Now this is hard but it really is the most precious part of the wedding, the vows. They are always nice to hear but to hear them written for that moment is incredible, especially when well done. You should not be intimidated by “well done”, it is not as hard as it sounds. Now in a perfect world, the groom would write his, the bride hers and they would never be heard together till the wedding when they come together in a beautiful duet. This is not a perfect word so just get that notion out of your head. That would be a disaster waiting to happen. Yes, each should write their own but together. Otherwise one will write a sonnet and the other a haiku and it will be a very cold honeymoon. Now even if you both are not poets a few guidelines can help.

Make an outline and start at the bottom with your goal. Ask your family and friends how they see your relationship; you’d be surprised what they see. Make small personal references to their favorite movie or book. Now is the hard part because how you say something coveys a lot so you want to do it right. Use a song in your head. It will put a rhythm in your head and add lift in your voice. It makes it sound so much nicer.

There are so many things you can do to make your special day unique. Only you can make it personal.

Great Autumn Ideas For Your Wedding Menu

September 24th, 2009
by Andrea McClure

One of the best things about planning a fall wedding is the food. Whether it is part of the reception menu or simply edible wedding favors. The fall season has a lot of delicious options that you and your guests can enjoy. Many of the foods are tied with certain events such as holidays and others are just home favorites that many families enjoy at this time of year. As you plan your fall themed menu there are some basics to cover. If at all possible try to find out if any of your guests have possible allergies to any food that you serve. If they do, try to make menu options to cater to their needs. The best part is that you don’t even have to worry about making something that can go to waste as many non-allergic recipes are as good as the originals. Also go for warmth if you are not sure what constitutes “fall food.” That is anything you would eat at dinner during the cooler months of the year will likely be quite appropriate. Now to help you get started here are some great fall suggestion for wedding reception menu and wedding favors.

Whenever you are serving food at a formal event you will normally have a couple of introductory courses before the main dish and dessert. In the case of a fall wedding soup is a great opening dish. Go for traditional favorites like potato soup and clam chowder. If you want to take your seasonal theme a step further, go with options like pumpkin and butternut squash. Not only do they taste great, but they also provide an opportunity for great decorations. You can serve them in hollowed out pumpkin and squash shell for a more seasonal flair. Salad is also another great opener. To add a touch of autumn, go for options like steam acorn, pecans, and others fall nuts. You can even add dried fruit for more interesting taste.

When deciding a fall main course there are several mainstays you can rely on. First there are different varieties of roast poultry. Great options are turkey, Cornish hen, and simpler roast chicken. You can also look to pot roasts, roast beef, and hams. Of course you can’t have any of these dishes without delicious sides to augment them. Go for home favorites like mashed potatoes, and gravy and seasonal sides like egg or potato salad. Once again the goal is to base your menu on what people are having during the autumn and winter.

Dessert is panoply of pies, pastries, brownies, and cookies. You can basically say this is the beginning of the season of baked goods. Go for seasonal flavorings such as apple, pumpkin, gingerbread, peanut, and chocolate. These not only are good alone but are also excellent with ice cream. A great suggestion is to serve fruit cobblers as part of your dessert options. If you are having your wedding near Halloween, add candy into the mix.

Why stop at the menu? You can also give your guest wonderful edible favors to take home with them. There are several options you can go with. One is jars of honey. They are simple and sweet and can be used in all types of cooking. Another great option is meat and cheese trays. These country samplers are always very popular. You can also go with bite sized pastries in seasonal flavors.

How to Increase Restaurant Sales in a Competitive Environment

September 22nd, 2009
by Jose L Riesco

Unless you are actively moving forward as an entrepreneur, your business may be sliding backwards against its competition. As such, even though you may feel that you are on top of the world, there are always ways to increase restaurant sales and to make sure that you are developing. Don’t be tempted to adopt the status quo as adequate, at any time.

Have you ever thought about asking the experts when it comes to getting ideas to increase restaurant sales? We’re not necessarily talking about professional advisors, either as the experts are in fact your diners in this case. Don’t be afraid to solicit input from your regular visitors or even those who just pop in for a meal, as they will almost invariably have some great inputs to give you from the sharp end as it were.

You must have a rocksolid operation before you even think about how to increase restaurant sales. Know that your reputation is very important in the marketplace and word-of-mouth will be crucial. As people are looking for social proof before they dine out, make sure that you have first class customer service, a really appetizing menu and an overall great experience. If you do, you will find a steady increase naturally.

In most businesses and here as well, a large part of your business will come from your most favorite menu items. As such, you should stick with what you know to be good and what will certainly increase restaurant sales if you focus. You don’t need to waste a lot of time and energy trying to roll out a new men, which may or may not take off and could flounder. Stay with what you are comfortable with.

All restaurants should have an Internet presence of some kind and those that don’t are undoubtedly losing out. Put particular emphasis on designing and operating a great website that truly reflects what you are and what you have. Take time to ensure that you capture the contact information of visitors and compose a regular newsletter to send to them. Give them informative and educational material and you will find over time that you will increase restaurant sales by bringing in new clients who anticipate your good service as a consequence of your communication.

If you’re looking for an idea to boost your revenue stream, make sure that your staff are fully on board with what you are trying to do. If they themselves are enthusiastic about the business, especially if you incentivize them in some way, then just by introducing family and friends and other acquaintances you can make a big difference.

Try and get involved with other business owners in your locality, especially those who may have a natural affinity to your restaurant or its theme. Brainstorm some joint ventures, which do not necessarily have to cost you anything but must represent a win-win situation for both you and the other organization. You can increase restaurant sales and increase traffic and sales to the other party as well.

Free publicity is always good and through a consistent effort, you can often get this. Make sure that you project yourself as the expert in your particular style of restaurant, niche or food style. Make a solid effort and get on the good side of your local newspaper editor. You will be able to get this great publicity by writing a regular column or otherwise being seen as the “go to” person.
