An invention worth noting in this modern world is a water filtration system or more commonly known as water filter. As the population of the world is growing so is the demand for pure clean drinking water. More people are now buying bottled water due to the growing health problems associated with contaminated water from taps. With the modern water filters now available, getting water from taps are just as good as bottled ones. Faucet water filters, purifiers other filtration systems are proving popular among health enthusiasts whom are genuinely care for their families health.

In the different water plants, there are different water filters, purifiers that are available. For instance, there are quite a number of plants that use one or many of the following filters to keep their water clean. These are media filters, sand filters, cloth filters and disc filters. They are great for filtering most of the impurities that can occur naturally in the water sources that we use.

Houses too also need their own set of water filters, purifiers and filtration system. Household water filters come in wide variety from faucet filters, countertop filters, under sink filters and whole house filters, garden filters and even shower filters. Finding the appropriate water filter that will suit your needs is the only hardest part of choosing your filter. Firstly I would suggest you educate yourself on your local water source. Knowing where your water is coming from will help you in chose the best filter. Secondly know what type of chemicals are been used to disinfect your water. If your source of water supply is a municipal one like most others than you definitely need a filter. I personally, like whole house filters because it purifiers water from all outlets in the house, allows the same rate of water flow and there is no filter cleaning needed.

If you are quite happy with your water source but still want some sort of water filter in your house for drinking purposes then faucet filters may be an option. Other great affordable water filters and purifiers are countertop and under sink filters. These are excellent water filters basic for everyday usage. The only downside these filters is the rate at which you get water. Because water is being filtered upon delivery water pressure is slowed down a little bit. The only filter that can exert same amounts of water pressure is the whole house filter.

There are also portable water filtration filters that fit into a reusable plastic bottle for the people that are looking for clean water when they are on the go. People have also found ways of creating home made water filters. It is as easy as visiting your local library or performing a Google search.

The fact of the matter is, water filters can do you a world of difference when it comes to healthy living. It is a fact that more people are linking contaminated water to the disease cancer especially with the vast chemicals used to disinfect the water. In my opinion it doesn’t matter which filter you chose so long as you use one.

Why you should consider using reverse osmosis filter

With reportedly more than 2,000 toxic chemicals in the water that we drink, if you want clean water at home, you must find the right reverse osmosis system to help produce ’safe’ purified water.

A reverse osmosis system is a water filtration system that uses high pressure to force water through a semi-permeable membrane in order to remove minerals, chemicals and toxins. Finding the right reverse osmosis system for cleaner water at home will require you to look at the effectiveness of each system.

It is important to understand that the concentration of toxins, water pressure and quality of membrane used to design a filtration system. There are generally two types of membranes used in reverse osmosis – the cellulose triacetate (CTA) membrane and the FTC membrane – each with their own functions. A carbon pre-filter might be required as an add-on to the membrane in order to ensure its optimal performance in producing quality purified water.

Systems that don’t require tanks tend to be more compact and take up less space as they don’t require space to store their purified water. Unfortunately, this type of reverse osmosis system is more costly to purchase as well as maintain. In addition, they require a pressure of 40PSI in order to be effective. This might mean that you may have to purchase an additional pressure pump to be fitted to your water system.

If you’re looking to finding the right reverse osmosis filter for cleaner water at home, you should also be aware of the disadvantages that accompany a water system. Apart from these systems costing a hefty amount and the purified water also expensively produced, the main drawback from using reverse osmosis is its removal almost all minerals from water, even trace minerals. As a result, supplements must also be taken to counteract the lack of vital minerals like calcium, magnesium and potassium found in normal drinking water.

The reverse osmosis system was originally developed for industrial use in printing and photo processing but because of the need for clean water, systems have been adapted for domestic use. There are so many people how who are concerned about the purity of the water they drink.

It’s scary how many contaminants that can be found in municipal drinking water. So many people, including me, are now choosing not to drink these contaminants. Impurities like lead, chlorine, drugs and way more. And when it comes to choosing a water filter there’s so many to choose from.

If you really want to avoid drinking contaminated unhealthy water you need to do some comparing of water purification systems. You need to choose the best water filter for your needs. Here’s some essential tips to choosing a water filter.

One of the most effective water filters is carbon water filters. They are effective and cheap and have some solid advantages. They are usually easy to use, for example. A carbon filter works by absorbing the impurities as the water passes over a charcoal medium, which attracts and traps them.

So you ought to seriously consider carbon water filters when doing a water filter comparison.

Reverse osmosis filters are also popular. They have a membrane with very small holes in it and the water has to pass through. Anything too small to pass through gets trapped and removed, but not everything that you want to remove is trapped. There are some contaminants that will still pass through. I often talk to people about water filters and find often that the technical aspects of how they work are too difficult. Usually they just ask me to tell them which one is the best water filter available.

The best water filter is actually a modified form of carbon, or charcoal, water filter. As simple carbon water filter is good, but doesn’t remove all contaminants. But there is a modern form of carbon, or activated carbon, water filter that combines the benefits of carbon filtration with a second stage of mechanism to remove the impurities that aren’t removed by the carbon.

And surprisingly these 2 stage activated carbon water filters are very cost competitive as well, which is always a nice surprise.
